Aurora St Leon Apartments in Ocala

No service and poor attitude…read more Aurora St Leon Apartments Complex: The complex is covered in dog poop, the new buildings are poorly constructed, and the internet drops every other week, but Senior Manager Tammy takes no responsibility. She's all charm until you sign the lease, then she couldn't care less. Only one in three outdoor lights works, and the other day, the entire complex lost power because management didn't pay the utility bills! The electric meters are a disaster, with your meter wired to another apartment and vice versa, meaning some residents are paying for another unit's electricity or even for empty apartments owned by the complex, which doesn't pay its bills. This left some units without power all day. Management's response? "Not our fault, no electrician on site." Thank you to Ocala Municipal Services for fixing their mess. Now we're facing incorrect bills due to their meter chaos and unpaid utilities. Upper management has disregarded numerous complaint letters, signaling their full support for Senior Manager Tammy's dismissive behavior. Despite paying substantial rent, we receive no services and encounter only a poor attitude.

My experience here has been exceptional from the very first phone call all the way through move-in. A Warm Welcome from Day One After selling my home in May, I was anxious about where to live next. When I called Aurora St. Leon, I was immediately impressed: * A real person answered the phone--no automated system. * The staff asked thoughtful questions about my budget and timeframe. * There was no pressure to overspend or move in too quickly. I scheduled a tour for the same day, and unlike most communities that only show a staged model, I was able to see the exact apartment I would be moving into. This is rare, and it gave me so much confidence in my choice. Move-In Experience - Above & Beyond Before I even arrived, Jay from maintenance went through my future home, did a complete walk-through, and spruced it up so it was perfect for my visit. That level of care really stood out. On top of that, I was lucky enough to secure a garage directly in front of my apartment. It's spacious, with room for storage and still plenty of space to park my SUV. That was a huge win for me. Apartment Home Highlights I selected the Capriccio two-bedroom, two-bath floor plan, and it truly feels like a thoughtfully designed home: * Spacious entryway with two coat closets. * Modern kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances, granite counters, a large sink with sprayer, and an oversized bar-top area. * Oversized laundry room with shelving and enough space for bulk storage, ironing, or even pantry overflow. * Bright, open living and dining space with large windows that flood the rooms with natural light--big enough for a full dining table. * Bedrooms and bathrooms designed for comfort: * One with a spa-style glass shower and granite vanity. * Another with a deep soaking tub and extra storage. * Closets with mirrored doors, adding both function and dimension to the space. * Wood-style flooring throughout--easy to maintain in Florida's climate. * Large screened-in patio, perfect for relaxing without worrying about bugs. Community & Amenities The property is only two years old but looks brand-new. It is immaculately maintained and thoughtfully laid out with wide drive lanes--great for SUVs and moving trucks. Amenities like the pool, gym, and grilling areas are pristine and well-kept, with timeframes that help ensure the spaces remain clean and enjoyable for everyone. One thing I also noticed is the staff's pride in upkeep. On a Sunday, I saw an employee who lives on-site using a blower to clean the entire breezeway--not just her own door but the whole building. That kind of personal pride and commitment is rare in apartment living. The People Who Made It Exceptional The staff here deserve special recognition: Gypsy, Latoria, Tammy, Steve, Madison, and Jay. Every single one of them has been welcoming, professional, and willing to go the extra mile. Their kindness made what could have been a stressful move feel easy and enjoyable. Final Thoughts Of course, like any apartment, you may hear normal sounds from neighbors above or in the stairwell--but that's to be expected with multifamily living. For me, it's never an issue, and with a little white noise or music, it fades into the background. All in all, Aurora St. Leon Apartments is one of the best apartment communities I've ever experienced. From the thoughtfully designed floor plans to the immaculate upkeep and truly outstanding staff, it checks every box. If you're looking for a place in Ocala that feels like home from day one, Aurora St. Leon is it.

Before signing a lease here, I strongly encourage prospective renters to take a closer look at what…read morethey're committing to. If renting a house is an option, it's worth considering. Otherwise, be prepared to pay luxury-level prices for a living experience that consistently falls short. Given the unprofessional management, a maintenance manager who seems to go out of his way to do as little as possible, and a general lack of care for the complex, it's no surprise that many apartments are going vacant. It's telling that most of the positive reviews for this "fairly new" apartment complex mention the maintenance workers. Why would a new building already require so much upkeep? It's a significant red flag that things are already falling apart. Our own experience started on day one when a defect in the closet meant we couldn't finish putting our clothes away. We submitted a maintenance request, but the order was repeatedly marked as "completed" without any work being done. This went on for three weeks. We left messages with the office but never received a call back. It wasn't until we spoke with our neighbors that we realized this was a pattern. To get a request properly handled, it often takes several emails, calls, and repeated visits to the office, where the manager is often "conveniently unavailable" or is unpleasant when you ask for updates. Some tenants even say you have to contact corporate management to get her to do her job. I currently have a pending request related to my kitchen that's gone unanswered. In the meantime, I've had to find workarounds just to function day-to-day. I'm dreading having to follow up again, but it seems unavoidable. Other tenants have shared that the only way to get the manager to act is by contacting her supervisor at the corporate level--a process that's both exhausting and unacceptable. A lot of the issues seem to stem from the maintenance manager as well. He's allegedly known for canceling maintenance requests he deems "unnecessary." The stories from other tenants are both shocking and consistent: he has reportedly been rude, cursed at residents, and even entered apartments after being asked to come back at a different time. This behavior is both unprofessional and unsettling. Our washing machine, a newer model, broke just five weeks into our lease. We submitted a work order, but it was ignored for two weeks because the only maintenance person who actually does work was on vacation. The office didn't seem to care that we had to use a laundromat. The issues aren't limited to maintenance. The office manager's attitude takes a turn for the worse once you've signed your lease. The grounds are also poorly maintained; weeds are taking over the complex, except for the areas visible to new renters. Despite paying upwards of $2,000, it's clear they are cutting costs on basic upkeep. Finally, be aware that you are locked into a specific, mandatory internet provider. If you're unhappy with the service, corporate will tell you that your only option is to pay to get out of your lease. They offer no flexibility to choose a provider with superior service.

Pictures, brochures and videos are all helpful but they put the best angles and views to sell the apartment. Too often I have wanted to run to get an apartment from the photos but when I got there it was a different story: Poorly maintained lawns, broken screens, very poor curb appeal. I'm no longer taken in by internet or photos, I go to the reviews first. So this is my review of Carrington Lane. What you see is what you get and more. The curb appeal is pleasing to the eye, the maintenance crew do a magnificent job and respond quickly to any need, the buildings are all in tip top shape and very recently renovated, the huge oak trees give you a feeling of being up north and yet the palm trees remind you that this is beautiful Florida. Whatever you need is rarely more than an 8 minute drive to such places as the mall, theaters, Home Depot, all sorts of restaurants and shopping. Should you need any medical care there are Urgent Care Facilities, a hospital and yes for Veterans a nearby large clinic. The downtown area is special to walk through, view the old but never abandoned building and store fronts, the park and so much more. You will never be bored. If you enjoy horses, tour the many horse ranches and mansions on a scenic drive. There is plenty to do in Ocala. I left the best to last. You can have nice buildings and grounds, pretty trees and amenities but if you don't feel it's home, it's not anything. Here is where Caitlin, Rebecca and Lindsay come in. They are the three women who make Carrington Lane not merely a house to live in but a home to enjoy, have fun and be proud to say: I live at Carrington. A lot of apartments offer something special at Christmas, Easter and other major holidays. Carrington Lane does that too but so much more. They are like thinking 24/7, how can we make our residents involved, happy and yet not be intrusive. They do it. There are so many things to do if you wish, or if you simply want to remain closer to home and your lovely screened in patio, that's fine too. You do what you want to do. However, no one can say the staff is uncaring or not helpful, they go far beyond the call to assist you and always with a smile. This is a long review, but before closing why not go to Face Book and check out the 200 plus photos of the many activities Lindsay, Rebecca and Caitlin put on for your enjoyment from Coffee Day, Free Lunch Day, Dress up and Dress down day, Blood Drive Day, Pizza Day, Donut Day, Brewery Day, Fashion Day and so much more. They do all of this in addition to their responsibilities in the office. I hope you found this review somewhat helpful. I don't work for Carrington Lane, I don't have stocks in the facility, I just know a good thing when I see it, and indeed Carrington Lane is good, very good.
