So what do you need to absorb the Cachaça you've been downing in one of the local watering holes on a hot Friday night in São Paulo? How about a burger? The thing is, not just any burger will do. You need a juicy, succulent, well seasoned, and grilled to taste patty to accomplish the mission. I found my elusive burger right in the Beco Fino district of Jundiai.
I immediately loved the vibe in this warehouse/industrial inspired space -- so chill and full of character, plus they were blasting Depeche Mode which is right up my alley. After glancing over the menu for a few minutes, I decided to go with the Webber Pig from the butcher's choice section of the menu. I was so pleased with my choice! This bad boy was sooo good. The pork patty was juicy and perfectly seasoned. It was enhanced by artisanal cheese and pickled slaw with purple onions. The lettuce, tomato, and pickles topped off this burger served on an Australian style homemade bun. The patty was perfectly cooked and tasted extremely fresh. If it was fresher, it would have been oinking on my plate :) Overall this burger gets a 4 out of 5 stars. I washed down my meal with a Brahma black -- a sweet, dark, creamy stout that needs its own review and is a must when visiting Brazil. The service at the Craft's was pretty good and considering the number of people dining there was fast.
Overall, I liked this place and will be back to try other butcher choices soon. read more
