While the patio is dog-friendly, you have to go inside to the bar to order your drinks and food and dogs aren't allowed in there. So, if you're traveling solo with your dog, be aware of this. I just left the car locked and running while I went in to order, put my placard down on a table outside, then went and grabbed the pup from the car. The Caesar Salad with chicken was lovely and had nice, crisp greens - not just the light colored watery lettuce, this had the medium and dark green goodness too. Still a little bland tasting, but it is a nice size and I ate the whole thing. The chicken on top of it was warm and freshly cooked, and absolutely delicious. I shared a piece of chicken and some lettuce with my pup and he likewise approved. It was a warm sunny day, so I ordered a Kentucky Mule to go along with my salad. Staff was a little busy with tables inside (lots of children at one table) so they forgot about my drink sitting on the bar. It came out just after my salad, so I just decided to make it my dessert instead of my appetizer :) Friendly staff and good food. If you're out this way, why not stop in and enjoy for yourself?

Staff were professional and you could tell were old hands and knew what was what. I ordered the hot mess (their version of poutine but without cheese curds and with shredded roast beef) which was amazing, SO good. I had a special - sliders on pretzel buns, and while the beans and coleslaw were delicious, the sliders were just okay. Others in the group loved the pot pie, and my kiddo devoured the burger. The quality of the food and the service place the Cranberry Over Superior above other seemingly similar options in the area. Highly recommend.

I just can't believe I have never been here before when visiting Iron River. The setting and the view alone is worth a visit. Set on the edge of Deep Lake, get a window seat if you can to watch the sunset. It's not quite a supper club (which is okay!) but we still ordered Brandy Old-fashioned. Trust me- they make them well! I think we may have converted my cousin to making this her Wisconsin drink of choice based on no small part on this version. The menu is midwestern steak house with flair. I ordered one of the nightly specials- pecan encrusted walleye. It was so good. LIghtly breaded with hints of fennel- a combination I never would have thought of but it was so tasty. of course it was served with salad and a small loaf of bread- a great way to start a meal. THe dessert menu looked intriguing but we were stuffed- I took half my meal home and ate it for lunch the next day! Still tasty. I would add this to everyone's must stop list when in Northern Wisconsin

It's full of local color and delicious flavor. Nice selection on the menu--and quite interesting. I mean, the Blackened Ahi Tuna--each subsequent ingredient gets stranger: provolone cheese, spring greens, black bean pico de gallo, and wasabi mayo. Fairly friendly atmosphere. It's clear there are regulars here by the hugs being doled out by the servers. My steak, brussels sprouts with bacon, and baked potato were excellent. The steak was cooked just to my liking. I would stop here again.

Ok, so this is 2 different review ratings. Take into consideration we arrived just after a huge…read morerush (possibly bus) of people. We sat at the end of the bar in front of the glass wash station. Our waitress was pleasant despite. She checked in with us a few times during our meal. The prices are comperable to other similar establishments but I feel the portions here make it one step above. The wings are the huge sized wings if you like those. The curly fries (for the 2nd time) were overcooked and crunchy. They have 1919 root beer on it's own tap! It was fun to just look around at the decor and play "I Spy". The restrooms were pleasant. Now, the part I hope the owner reads. There was a busboy, whom I feel may be family, "working" there. I surmised this because if I were one of those waitresses, I'd have had some WORDS long ago. I can honestly say this young man is probably costing you way more money than having him there, unless your sole reason is to keep him out of trouble...even so. He was very obviously working harder at not working than actually doing so. I feel like this is a very common example of our youth as a whole right now. He literally, for our ENTIRE stay (which took double the time as any usual meal does due to the kitchen being so slow) basically shuffled in front of us getting in the way of every waitress trying to do their job. He opened the coolers repeatedly turning labels, looking like he was checking stock, etc. I'm certain the bottles ended up being 4 degrees warmer, especially when he left the doors cracked open. Waitresses were carrying LOADS of dishes to the back and only occasionally, when he noticed, would he go back to the kitchen only to emerge right back in front of us. He seemed to like washing glasses though. Just one or two he'd slowly concentrate on them spending as much time as possible. Nothing like someone's face constantly inches from your food. Another time after coming from the back, he switched the big screen from football to car racing, which was also on the smaller TV. People were mildly watching the game. They had to ask a waitress to switch it back. When we were finished with our meals, we neatly stacked the tray/basket/silverware with the napkins on top, clearly indicating they were ready to be taken, at the edge of the bar, pretty much right under his nose as he washed glasses. Nope, the lightbulb didn't go on. A waitress came and took mine away. My Mom finished hers later and did the same. Still he didn't get a clue. I could see the frustration on the other's faces. I was exhausted just watching him do absolutely nothing. PLEASE teach this young man manners, consideration, work ethic, and teamwork. If he plans to go into management of any kind, nevermind, carry on. At the very least, find someplace else for him to be and alleviate the frustration for those employees who ARE trying to do their jobs. On the flip side, if I were to give the benefit of the doubt, perhaps he was doing his intended job of monitoring other employees to ensure everything is on the up and up and to report back. In any case, this seems to be going more into a rant than a review of the establishment. Love Gronk's in general and look forward for an opportunity to stop in when I'm in town. Don't miss out!
