They're very consistent with their quality and although there are other nice bakeries in York, for me, none of them compete with Thomas's. My assumption was that that was the total weight of the meat I bought. However, when I got home and weighed the meat myself, it was about 35kg! I immediately rang them to report this, and they admitted that the weight displayed was inclusive of the bone! I pointed out to them that this was false advertising, especially as I wasn't given this bone that had been included in the price I paid. They admitted that they could have done better by making it clear that the displayed weight was inclusive of the removed bone. They, however, denied that they owed me any compensation for false advertising. I just want to put this out there for other unsuspecting customers like me!

It's quite a large space - open and airy with high ceilings and plenty of hanging plants, making for an enjoyable atmosphere. There's lots of seating, both indoors and out on their front patio lined with colorful flowers. We chose to sit outside on this nice, sunny morning. But first we ordered at their front counter. Here you'll find a few large glass cases displaying lots of baked goods. Savory tarts, danishes, fresh breads, and small sandwiches. We came for coffee, but couldn't resist a little bite once we saw what was on offer. Opting for the goat cheese, tomato and basil tart, they quickly warmed it for us and delivered it out to our table. Along with it came our big cups of tasty coffee; an oat milk latte for me and a cappuccino for my husband. Everything was enjoyable! Our 10-month old was definitely a fan of the flaky pastry, as were we. I would look forward to returning here again before we head back home, and on our future visits to York.
