1 STAR -- WATERPROOF FLOORING? THINK AGAIN!…read more What started as a good experience with Premier Floor Center in Dyersburg, Tennessee, has turned into a complete disappointment. Years ago, I hired Premier Floor Center to install new flooring in my kitchen, bathroom, and back bedroom. Initially, the work looked good, and I was happy with the results. Unfortunately, years later, I am now dealing with serious flooring problems that have completely destroyed my confidence in this business. The flooring was sold to me as WATERPROOF. Let me emphasize that word: WATERPROOF! I experienced a dishwasher backup in my kitchen and water coming from the shower in my bathroom. Both involved water getting ON TOP of the flooring, not coming from underneath it. Now, the flooring around my refrigerator is giving way, the area near my kitchen sink is rotting, and the floor near my bathtub is deteriorating. I understand that water can cause damage, but when a business sells and installs flooring represented as waterproof, I expect it to provide meaningful protection against water exposure. Apparently, my expectations were too high! And that's not even the entire story. Premier Floor Center was also supposed to install flooring in the small porch area by my back door. Instead, they told me the existing flooring looked fine and that they would return to complete that portion "later." Well, YEARS have passed, and "later" NEVER came! Today, I personally went into Premier Floor Center to discuss these problems. They couldn't even locate the records of the flooring they installed in my home! I was told the business had since been sold and changed ownership. Because of that, they were unwilling to take responsibility for the previous work or complete the flooring they originally promised to finish. So let me get this straight: I paid for flooring advertised as waterproof. I now have deteriorating floors after water exposure from above. A portion of the original job was never completed. And when I finally returned to the business for help, they couldn't find my records and pointed to a change in ownership. That is absolutely unacceptable to me. I realize that a change in ownership may complicate responsibility for past work, but it doesn't make this experience any less frustrating or disappointing. I WOULD NEVER TRUST PREMIER FLOOR CENTER WITH ANOTHER JOB IN MY HOME. At this point, I would rather hire a day laborer from the Home Depot parking lot than give this business another dollar. If you're considering Premier Floor Center in Dyersburg, I strongly encourage you to think twice. Get every promise in writing, keep copies of everything, and ask exactly what their definition of "waterproof" means. I trusted this business with my home. Based on my experience, that trust was misplaced. ONE STAR. I WILL NEVER USE THIS BUSINESS AGAIN, AND I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM.
