Veggie Omelette

Easy parking, friendly staff, quick service, clean restaurant!!! Simple, quick, good! Food on point, good coffee, lots of choices to eat or drink!

Pancakes, scrambled eggs, and chicken sausage.

This place was very accommodating for me. I wanted to pick up and order but not leave my car because there was no parking. They came out got my card, ran it and brought out my food for me. Thet was extremely convenient and helpful for me. Now to the food. The pancakes were classic good tasting dinner pancakes. But the kicker was my friend got orange juice and said it was the best she ever had in her life. It was freshly squeezed and not too much pulp and tasted amazing. For that reason and there kindness is deserving of the 5 star review. Thank you for being so accommodating.

Always outstanding food and friendly service. A neighborhood staple. Love this place.

First time trying Iced Vietnamese Drip Coffee with Condensed Milk - so good!

First time trying Vietnamese coffee and it was so good!! Unfortunately they don't give out the WiFi login despite the Yelp page saying WiFi is available. The barista was so nice and apologetic re: the misinformation. She said she's tried to update the Yelp page but no luck. I appreciated her empathy and concern for my experience as a customer. The inside isn't fancy but I had no trouble finding seating. Would come back with friends and try some of their other items but will look elsewhere when I want to get work done.

Brunch . Looks good

If you're looking to a quality (slightly overpriced) breakfast or brunch spot near the Grand Lake the coffee mill impressed me. Again, a little higher priced then I will pay for a spot I'm going to take myself to solo regularly (33$ for Benedict and coffee for one after tax and tip) but; for a breakfast spot to take friends or partners to it's excellent. My food tasted great, good portions on both the breakfast and the coffee (my ice latte came in a half liter I could refill). On top of that the service was friendly, a touch chatty but in the right way. The checked in on me throughout. From my other reviews you'll see that often the price range would ding it down to a four but the portions, service and food itself pushed this to five for me despite that. The kind of place I will keep in the back of my mind and come back to on a special opening for people I'd like something local but marvelous.

Shrimp and grits

This is my favorite brunch spot in Oakland! The shrimp and grits are amazing and is my favorite item on the menu. The biscuits and gravy are another great option. Be sure to try the muffins, donuts, and other pastries. They are a great dessert option after a scrumptious brunch! Staff is super friendly and cares very much about our appetite and satisfaction! Great outdoor seating available.

I'm down here in the Grand Lake area visiting iconic Oakland restaurant locations with a local guide. This Coffee Mill has been here since 1974 I'm told, that's almost 50 years! My guide has been coming here since the 1990's so that's over 30 years. It's been remodeled some over the years and is now more of a breakfast place then bakery, though they still have a lot of baked good to sell like those flaky croissants. The service is quick enough, and more efficient than friendly chatty. We order omelets. Most omelets breakfasts are priced in the $17.00 range more or less and include the usual, toast choices and hashbrowns. The price of breakfast sure has gone up, add a coffee and tax and tip, you got a almost $30 per person breakfast! Glad I'm on an expense account! All the food was tasty and prepared well enough, but I couldn't see eating here 3-4 times a week for breakfast, that's for sure.

Breakfast Sandwich: Egg, Bacon Swiss Cheese (precut)

Visiting my old neighborhood recently, I was pleasantly surprised to find The Coffee Mill still standing and serving up tasty food and delish coffee after all these years. This visit I got an egg, bacon, and Swiss breakfast biscuit sandwich and a latte. When I walked in, the owner and staff shared such sweet and friendly energy just as the place exuded over a decade ago. And the walls are still filled with colorful, vibrant artwork and thought provoking books. The Coffee Mill is truly a neighborhood gem worth cherishing for any local any year.

Food was good, waitresses were kind! Kid friendly. I enjoyed the crab cake benedict. The hollandaise sauce is good. Got the egg well done bc i'm pregnant.

I ordered several breakfast wraps and a coffee to go. Service was great if you are picking up skip the register at the entrence and move to the other register on the left. Cute decore inside. I suggest asking for sauces if ordering to go. One of our wraps was missing avocado. 3 wraps and a large latte was $60

Breakfast sandwich and Cappuccino.

This was a great breakfast and coffee spot. The baked goods and beautiful and delicious. The coffees are fresh and so good! We will definitely revisit this place.

I'm stuffed. I couldn't eat it all... But it's so delicious . Doggie bag it is

We went mainly for drinks and tried a latte, tiramisu latte, and a Spanish latte. The tiramisu latte and Spanish latte were both really good and definitely my favorites. Smooth, flavorful, and not overly sweet. You can tell the coffee quality is solid. We also tried the matcha drinks in vanilla and strawberry. I liked the strawberry matcha more. It comes unsweetened, so I asked for it to be sweetened and it was great after that. The vanilla matcha was fine too, just not my top pick. They're also dropping a new Ramadan drink soon, a date latte, which sounds really good and I'll probably come back just to try that. Overall, great drinks and a nice place to hang out.

I loved the ambiance, it felt we was in another country. The place was packed I have no idea where everyone parked haha. Very hard to find parking. The Adeni Chai I had was wonderful and I would get again. The lemon pastries I had were good & I would possibly get again. Both cheese pastries & meat pocket I didnt care for so much. I undetstand they are an acquired taste but me being Middle Eastern we have our own versions and I think that's why I didn't like as much. I would definitely go back and try more sweet pastries. They had a large selection I couldn't try them all haha. I would love to try more tea and coffee options as well. Go and try out several different pastries and discover what you like. It's cheaper than buying an airplane ticket to try another countries culture and delights. They also have outside seating which is especially nice on a beautiful day. Pro tip: take an Uber if you can. Parking is hard to get.

The interior makes one feel that you are in a high end cafe with its beautiful decor. Some many items to choose from, the person taking my order was very helpful in explaining the different kinds of drinks and pastries. Ordered the Ginger Honey Jobani as a hot drink, Biscoff Milkcake, Honeycomb, and a Beef Fatayer. There were several kinds of milkcakes which would have the texture like a tres leches cake. The Honeycomb had pockets of cream cheese and was drizzles with honey. The Meat Fatayer is like an empanada. The food and drink were very tasty.
