New and ready to go!

I had a wonderful experience. Got a chance to speak with the owner and learned about the start of the business. Got my motocross boots resolved. Labor was a little pricey. Think I spent $60 more than I needed but well worth it. Terrific folks and I feel like we need to support local businesses. In addition, while picking up boots my wife found something she liked. She also got great service. Please support Rudy and family.

I went in with my Vintage Coach ergo that had a leather zipper pull falling apart. I will attach before and after photos. The pull obviously had wear so I was looking to replace it. I showed a guy there, he was super nice and accommodating, and said it was an easy job and can totally be done. I left my bag there on Saturday and picked it up Thursday. When I went to pick up my bag, I was inspecting the zipper pull and pulled out my phone to compare it to the before photos. The Cobbler's job on my zipper pull is not good. I'm usually not a confrontational person, but I asked why it doesn't look like the before and if they mapped it out before stitching. This new man who was helping me said it's obviously not going to be factory and that it's different when done by hand. I asked if there aren't any sewing machines for leather and he said there are, but he couldn't really get in there. I asked if they could do it again and if they would charge more, he said they could do it again for free, but it'll pretty much be the same. I'm not leaving my bag here just for them to "redo" it and have the same terrible craftsmanship. When I got home, I also realized they glued the leather zipper pull to the hardware. Pretty sure they had too much glue when gluing the zipper pull together because it's also visible at the curve. The leather zipper pull also doesn't line up fully. I thought I'd save myself some time having someone fix this for me, but I might as well buy a leather stitching punch tool and hand sew it myself

The boots are in good shape except where this shop touched them on the toe caps.

This shop did terrible work on a basic repair job and they were entirely out of line in their response when the problem was brought to their attention. The boots left the shop in worse shape than when they came in. The repair job scope was simply to apply Tuff Toe to the toe caps of some work boots, but the work was done at the level of a toddler left unattended with a squeeze tube. They did not tape/mask the boots and apply the material according to manufacturer specifications; they just glopped it on which left an uneven, bubbly, drippy mess across the leather and soles that no respectable shop would sign off on. It would have been fine had they owned up to the shoddy work as a mistake and fixed it, but they were rude, unprofessional, and dismissive. Instead, they haphazardly sanded off portions of the poorly applied Tuff Toe--damaging the boot leather in the process--and tossed refund cash across the counter. The manager was fine with all of this, indicating the integrity problem at this shop runs all the way up the chain. "Nobody cares" the sales guy said; and he's right about that, at least. Looking at recent reviews, this isn't a "repair" shop; it's a "damage" shop.

This is a well-worn pair of Thorogoods. This is what 2.5 years get you with a lot of walking. Still looks good well worth the money!

I'm surprised I didn't review this business yet. They've been there for such a long time! Over the years I've had my shoes to polish there before and my mom is even taking her Birkenstocks there for some custom heel work. This review is overdue. So about 2 and 1/2 years ago we got that stimulus check from the government. I felt that I would have to spend this with one stipulation. I would buy American and buy local. I needed work boots. I'm a little hard to fit. The owner of the business sold me some Thorogood moc toe boots. I've been wearing them every other day at work, I work at a grocery store. The the boots work out great! My only complaint on the boots is that the tongue is a little much and bunches up. But they broken in since then. So two and a half years is not bad on a boot 3 days a week use and tons of walking at the grocery store I work at. Crouching and climbing ladders is part of my routine. But they've held up well.

(aka Union City) I finally had the time to check this place out on my lunch break - given, I was in an instant desire to let go & get my hands off of some fresh kicks (Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred ReImagined - sz 10), that I had bought over a ShockDrop from their Nike SNKRS app hat my homie hooked up for me not too long ago! Don't let that person know, tho! (cuz I will find out! Haha JK) I used to be somewhat 'so much' involved in the shoe game / hypebeast lifestyle growing up.. I remember so much back in high school, with my part-time job in the library shelving books, yet I'd fork over almost my entire paycheck to get some J's... but then, it sorta just stopped once I graduated high school & went to college - up 'til I was gettin' into my early twenties, and had phased out of it & moved on to 'grown man shoes', as my best friend would say back in the day not too many years back. Like a saying I once heard in my teens, you gotta know where to "deal with the real" AND having done a smooth transaction with Kyle Goudie (the proprietor of this humble abode of a buy/sell/consignment shop) was definitely a foreal, foreal REAL one! Honest, Legit, and Transparent. Thank you for being friendly & patient - especially for someone like me not having a peer-to-peer mobile payment app that allows users to easily transfer funds from a linked financial institution account to another recipient - I did have PayPal, tho! Haha. I originally bought the shoes at a higher price & offered the , but I wasn't trippin' out since it was only a few dollars difference - and with my side hustle as a musician - can't complain to be 'too blessed to be stressed'. #mindfulmatters I definitely recommend ya'll check this local business when you find yourselves on this side of the East Bay!! Don't say I didn't warn you! Once in awhile, you'll find yourselves craving for some fresh kicks, just wanting to browse on some vintage apparel & footwear & other knick knacks, and/or even getting yourself donned in what's "in" to be "it", cuz you know you just can't stay away from being & looking "fit"!

Dear Manny's Customer Service Department,…read more I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration regarding a recent in-store experience that occurred on November 17, 2025 at the Hayward location As a loyal customer of your store for the past six years, I have consistently purchased footwear and apparel from your business. However, my experience this week has been unacceptable and has seriously damaged my willingness to shop with you again. Last week, I purchased a sweat suit for my child. When we realized it did not fit, I promptly returned to the store to exchange or return the unworn item. My request was an exchange for a bigger size by a staff member (a short gentleman with glasses) who cited the presence of a single piece of white lint on the suit as grounds for invalidating the exchange. The suit was never worn by my child, and the refusal to process an exchange over such a minor, superficial detail is unreasonable, shortsighted, and a complete disregard for customer satisfaction, especially for a long-standing customer. I request that you review this specific incident and honor the exchange for the unworn sweat suit. I expect better customer service and respect for the loyalty I have demonstrated over the past six years. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to confirm how this matter will be resolved.

Foot Locker - adidas Originals Superstar II

IN-STOCK ONLINE VS IN STORE…read more This past January I went to Foot Locker in Southland Mall for a specific pair of Adidas - adidas Originals Superstar II. The color I was looking for was a white pair with the Adidas sign outlined in black with the inside white. I thought that was a cool look - a pair potential dance shoes for hip hop performances. When I entered this location I couldn't find the pair I was looking for. I presumed this pair was out of stock at this store and maybe that Foot Locker didn't sell this pair anymore online. A couple of months later when I searched through the Foot Locker website it showed that this pair was not only available online, but also sold at Vallejo. I didn't want to drive all the way to Vallejo. Also for shoes I rarely order them online as I like to wear the shoes for fitting. On the Foot Locker website I typed my local zip code to search for stores that has this pair and my size of 8.5 in stock. The website showed that this exact pair and size was in stock at Southland Mall. In March I went back to Foot Locker at Southland Mall. When I entered the store I didn't see the exact adidas Originals Superstar II pair and color on display. The sales representative Isaiah asked me if I had any questions. I showed him the Foot Locker website, which stated this pair was available at the Southland Mall location. He then asked me what size I was looking for. I asked sizes 8 and 8.5. Isaiah went to the back and carried the two pair sizes. Even though I regularly wear size 8.5 the size 8 didn't feel tight at all. Then I asked Isaiah for his opinion. He said the size 8 appears tight on my sides. I choose size 8.5. In January this exact pair according to Foot Locker cost $100. When I went to Foot Locker in March there was a promotional sale, which was $20 off for this pair. Even though I appreciate the service from Isaiah I wish this Foot Locker location was more upfront by displaying a pair that is available on the website.
