I've been a Cleaning Authority customer for 6 years and couldn't be happier. Over the years ( my wife and I are in our 50's) we've mostly used "independent" cleaners. Some were excellent but over time their quality deteriorated to the point where I had to let them go, moreover, we'd had things break without the cleaner admitting they've broken an item or when they did never offered to compensate us for the broken item, wed also had things stolen or missing without ever being able to do anything about it. I finally decided that I'd go with a professional cleaning service. Initially, TCA was not my first choice. However after trying a couple of other "so called" professional services I hired The Cleaning Authority. There isn't another company that compares with their overall service quality and professionalism. Are they perfect? No. But, when I'd have that rare occasion where I had to contact the owner or manager about an issue they've always remedied the problem quickly and without an "attitude." which I really appreciate. Nobody likes to have to complain but when a complaint is received easily and remedied promptly it solves the issue. Its amazing that week after week the cleaners come to our home and for us, its a luxury we've chosen to not live without. Started a quote with this company after I received a mailer; I figured a company that was advertising services would have openings for new clients since I've been having a tough time getting a hosusekeeper set up. I was wrong. I was initially quoted at 400 for initial cleaning and 300$ every two weeks following that. 300 hundred seemed high for my two adult and one dog family that keeps things pretty clean most of the time. I was told "they could do a zoom call to better assess my place" (but that doesn't seem any different than the basic description I have my place at the beginning so I asked for a home visit. Was confirmed two days later for a nine am home visit. At 915 on the day of, I called to ask where the evaluator was, "who answered the phone when you called -I'm not sure, I did not get a name. How many people do you have answering the phone. -well we don't do site visits so I'm not sure why they said that, was it a scheduled phone call or a zoom call? -no I was told Home visit. -well we don't do that." Do not waste your time with this agency. The staff here are rude and combative. And clearly too busy to be bothered with correct information. read more

I scheduled a move-out cleaning weeks in advance and made sure to specify, per the company's own scheduling questionnaire, the state of the apartment unit and needed add-ons (fridge/freezer cleaning). I stayed in touch with the company during the weeks it took to get to the scheduled cleaning. The day the cleaning was scheduled (4 days before the end of the month), they called and told me they wouldn't clean because their "natural products wouldn't really help". The apartment definitely looked like it needed a move-out cleaning, but we aren't talking, like, massive blood-stained carpet and mold and otherwise hazardous messes here!! Do not waste your time or money on this company, they have no issues screwing you over when time is short and justifications for behavior are nonexistent. read more

Not satisfied at all with the floor cleaning, looked as if they had just wet mopped it. I had to re-clean the entire floor. I did complain, they were defensive and seem to blame me for not tellingly them to clean the floor more than the usual. The floor was not excessively dirty, so I wonder what their normal floor cleaning is. They offered to come back, but I had no time for that. Settled on. $20 credit, not worth it really. A lot of stress getting ready for a house sale, should have been done properly the first time. Argh!! read more

We used The Cleaning Authority for years (7-8 years) with very good results. On 3 occasions they removed the washing machine hose from the sink causing flooding when the washer was run. We discussed the first two times and were assured it wouldn't happen again. Last week they did it a, causing $2000 worth of water damage. They were not helpful and refused to cover the cost if damage. They will only cover damage up to the cost of the clean ($145). Use at your own risk because if they damage something they will NOT make it right! UPDATE RESPONSE: They basically admitted they were at fault - since it had happened 3 times - until they spoke to their lawyers! However - they will only cover damage up to the cost of your clean - it is written in their cleaning agreement. So even if they were at fault they wouldn't do anything! read more

I have been having my house cleaned every 4th Tuesday for about 5 months and I'm amazed at what a great job the cleaners do in an amazingly short time. Today was supposed to be my cleaning day. No show! A few weeks ago I called to see if I could get my house cleaned early since I was having a dinner party. They took the information and said they'd try and fit it in if they had a cancellation. Never heard any more, which is OK, I guess no cancellations occurred. So I expected them to show up at my normal cleaning day (today). Nope. About noon time I called to find out when they were coming and was informed my cleaning had been CANCELLED! I asked the person to explain the logic for that decision. I was told they call me back 'shortly' with a new cleaning date. It's now 5:20 and I haven't heard anything. I called again - no answer -they are supposed to be open til 6PM. Guess it's time to stand down and return the house from it's 'Cleaning Day' configuration - dog toys picked up, bed linen washed, etc. Very annoying. So if you want a good cleaning job with a poorly organized company, TCA is for you! read more

it is with huge disappointment and disgust to have to report this company as low low lowest on the scale it can go with customer service ! --low integrity !!!.... cleaning authority has recently changed ownership and now owned by a woman named, shannon oakley.... she states she is now "silverbird cleaning"...but answers the phone using "cleaning authority"....???.... i used to use them to clean my home under previous ownership and bought a dear friend a gift card for $200.....(there is no exp date listed on card)... new owner (shannon oakley) rudely refuses to honor it. ......do not do business with her or this company as they have horrible customer service and do not honor their customers, nor have integrity ....if you are reading this....go elsewhere to find a cleaning company with integrity and respect to their customers....there is much better out there that serve with respect & integrity that you can depend on getting good service and will give much better customer service as well !!! i will not use this co ever again and will make sure others are aware and will not use as well. !!! ..."not good" is still too good of a rating for this co...:) read more

The ladies did a great job. They really payed attention to details. I could not be happier. Remember people, they are only human, and humans are not perfect. If I have issues, I talk to them and it never happens again. I cannot imagine cleaning for so many people and trying to make them all happy. I have never felt they were defensive. They have only seemed to try to give me their best. I feel like they always try their hardest and do their best. I have used many cleaning companies in the past 30 years. I used TCA in a different state really liked them, and was happy to use them here - at first. For family reasons, we have a narrow window for cleaning arrivals. I had it noted on may account (with several reminder calls) to not show up before my window of 2:00 in the afternoon. But they either kept showing up early without calling at all or arriving early after just leaving a message (without me confirming my ability to accommodate an early arrival). But what soured me on them was that when customer service called me about it, the lady kept cutting me off and made me feel like I messed up and needed to accommodate their poor schedule management. I almost had cancelled them before for this reason, but this most recent experience was distressing. I had a simple schedule request, and they consistently couldn't accommodate it. That isn't too much to ask for a service that I'm paying for and decided to put ties. read more

Teams not consistent, dusted behind them, request not honored about team consistency. Shannon manager very unprofessional. Lost weekly business. Would not recommend unless you just want anyone and everyone coming in and out of your home. I respect all people, but as a customer it is my home and have the right to request consistent team members that are a fit for my beliefs, safety, and security. It pains me to write this review because it is not a reflection of every crew, but instead just one. We have been using The Cleaning Authority since September when I returned back to work full time. Every other Wednesday I was ecstatic to come to a sparkly house just the way I like it. As time went on I would revive cleaning notes and I started to realize that things that were on that list had not actually been done. They would write, "special attention on floors in hall bedroom." But my teenage daughter would be home in that room and they didn't as much as knock on the door. Most recently I came home to the biggest disappointment: my house looked exactly the same as it did before I left for work that morning. I thought perhaps they didn't come, but then I saw the note. They had detailed all of the things that they had done that day, but I mean it when I say that absolutely nothing was done. They said they cleaned the shower door upstairs, but there was chalk on the door from my two year old the day before. It hadn't even been wiped. They said they cleaned the master bedroom, but our bedroom door was locked with the dogs inside. There was not way they entered the room. The bigger disappoint came when we called to speak to someone. My partner and I NEVER call to complain, so we actually played rock, paper, scissors because we didn't want to call but we knew that it had to be done. When we spoke to someone we asked if they would either refund our money or have another crew come out to right the wrong. They refused. We showed them the note and asked if we could send pictures, and they still refused. A company that we paid $280 a month for seven months ($1960 accumulated) refused to hear us out, so we cancelled our services. If we could have had the same crew every time then there would have never been a problem, but there are people who work for this company that are getting away with robbery. For that reason, I would never recommend using their services. read more

I have been a customer for 2 years and love the girls who have been here to clean. However, when I attempted to reschedule a cleaning, there was a communication issue with the manager Melissa who is extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked to speak with the owner, Mark Silver, and was informed that he doesn't come in. I requested a call from the owner, and never heard from him. I have referred many people to use this service in the past and now regret it. There are many other companies in town who care about taking care of their long time clients and advocates. read more

They have broken items in my home, I had to contact the manager and owner regarding how every month or two I had a new cleaning crew and how the qualities of the cleans were getting worse. Obvious items were being missed. The last two cleans I had, there was still hair in the bathroom, microwave wasn't cleaned, carpets were not swept, bedroom not dusted, floors not mopped, trash cans not emptied or new liners not put in. I had this company for a couple of years and in the last 6 months the company and quality of work dropped considerably. They have such a high turnover rate that in the last months, there was always someone new, so my cleaning were never consistent. I understand every company has turnover but the quality should be the same, take the time to train the employees correctly. Also the girls always looked so exhausted and made comments about how many more jobs they had that day and had to keep on schedule. If there was a holiday and Monday these girls were doing those clients plus the clients for Tuesday, Please be weary of this company. read more

After 1 1/2 of service we are done. They started off great and I was super happy. Over time things started to get missed and I let them know. I feel if you pay that high of a price you should get what you pay for. I currently have mold growing in my shower despite it being routinely "cleaned", there are dust bunnies on my floor and several surfaces were missed. I had a curling iron broken and it took several months to get them to compensate me. Forewarning- they start out strong but then fail to deliver yet continue to gladly take your money. read more

The service started out extremely well, however over time and personnel changes, the quality of the service declined. I had them for a year and a half and the rates were raised twice during that period of time. So I was paying more for declining service. The last cleaning, they didn't even bother to clean the shower floor, tile, fixtures or glass door. Why should I pay for my home to be cleaned if I have to clean after the cleaners leave. read more

I specifically called and explained what type if cleaning was needed. A move out kitchen wipe down cabinets inside and out and bathrooms cleaned. Spoke with Heather was was very friendly and understanding of the expectations.Told a 3 hour time frame was the minimum I could hire with 2 cleaners. Which would be $300. They arrived 15 minutes late left 10 mins early and Amanda who appeared to be in charge joked that it's hard to clean top cabinets only being 5'3" and not allowed to use stools or ladders. As the majority of homes in the area have top cabinetry I find it deplorable that a company would sell a move out clean and not explain that a wipe down wipe out may not be accomplished on top cabinets. The other lady that accompanied Amanda happened to be tall and did the best job she could without the use of a stool. She was very personable and easy to communicate with, however Amanda was not personable neglected to clean an entire cabinet with countertop that was in the basement kitchen. The countertop still had a coffee ring and bread crumbs on it the drawers had hair left in them. They finished the expected cleaning in well under 3 hours and tried to leave early. When expressed that they were hired and paid in advance for 3 hours Amanda then asked if they could help with the vacuuming. I've hired an ENTIRE move out top to bottom house clean with 1 independent cleaner that took her 8 hours and cost me $400. Unfortunately she is booked this month and couldn't squeeze us in. read more

The first months were great then there was a constant turnover of personnel and the goal seemed to be to get done as quickly as possible (the result was a quick gloss-over and there was a lot that did not get cleaned). These concerns were raised with their office and nothing changed. The office personnel even failed to show up for a scheduled meeting to discuss these concerns and to ensure that the the next cleaning was complete. Now that they have been dismissed we have gone through the house more thoroughly and wish we had dismissed them months ago. Nice folks but we will not make that mistake again. read more
