As the name suggests, this little Dairy in Ohakune's center is famous for their chocolate eclairs, which, may I add, are GIANT. For $1.80 a pop you really, definitely, absolutely need to stop here to give 'em a whirl. They are particularly tasty after a nice long day of snowboarding on Mt. Ruapehu (just saying). This handy superette doesn't stop at eclairs, either - they have a variety of bakery goods as well -- from apple pies to black currant turnovers to a sweet slices, you'll be bouncing off the walls (snow?) in no time. It's also a perfect place to grab a (cheap) sandwich, drink, snack to bring with you to the mountain (a small veggie wrap only set me back $3.50!). Just try ittttt. read more
