It turned out to be one of the best decisions I could have made. Joey Felbab took my case on and immediately had thought of a few different angles that no other attorney has thought of. Impressive! I also appreciate his ability to put actual "work" into the case. I was impressed each time he spoke in the court room, remembering case details, dates, and statutes. He really does put in a lot of effort and trys to examine every possible angle. A big part of being a good attorney is also being likeable. He was able to be seen, be heard, and to communicate his ideas without ever coming off as arrogant. Professionalism and transparent communication across the board. I wholeheartedly recommend Joey and this law firm for anyone who wants to be sure their case has the best outcome. Truly a miracle worker and lifesaver.

My case wasn't resolved they kept telling me that they didn't want to keep bugging the D.A regarding charges that were not filed on my case because they didn't want to bring attention to my name but after terminating this office I received an itemized break down of charges which showed continual contact between the lawyers office and D.A despite him telling me the opposite. Anyways I didn't feel good from jump after having a free eval in office with a guy named Joseph which i explained what happened and the guy makes a smart remark regarding some papers that I showed him where he made mention to me, go on with that! So he was against me from the start. And then I have a second appointment this time with Phil where I came to the office with about $8500 and dropped on the desk and retained his service. And upon looking at my charges he seem disgusted like I really committed the crime. So, I made the mistake in trusting these guys and this office because I was blind sided by all the good things they say on their website. So be careful when choosing attorneys because not all of them have your best interest at hand. Mind you this is the 2nd attorney ive fired because they lie. Simple.

I came in only 3 days before my hearing, yet he still took my case without thinking twice and has lowered my charges significantly(DUI and speed enhancement to wet and reckless). I am amazed with the results as I was certain nothing could be fixed or helped given the conditions and circumstances of my case. I highly recommend their firm and Mr. Arie. With my record, I was worried about getting my application denied or worse. As an immigrant, that "worse" scenario can be life altering. I've mentioned I'm a procrastinator, well, it's worse when I'm anxious about something so I put it off even more. Jonathan urged and finally convinced me to go through with it and so I did. He reassured me throughout the entire process that everything would work out just fine and he was not wrong! Not only did he reassure me, he prepped me for my interview and although he wasn't able to go with me the day of my interview (court thing came up) he did send someone else who was just as reassuring and capable. I was finally in the interview room with the immigration agent and it went so smoothly it ended up being one of the most positive experiences of my life. Part of it was the preparation beforehand and another aspect was the immigration agent, who was very empathetic to my case. After a lifetime of having "immigration law" on my mind constantly, I am now an American Citizen. Overall, to anyone reading this wondering if you should proceed with Empire Law, I say YES. Whether it's Jonathan directly, or someone else on his team, I know that whoever he hand selects he does so for good reason and you will be met with someone who is empathetic, knowledgeable and capable.

Title: Coasting means no points!…read more I received a speeding ticket by a police officer who decided that passing a slow car all while traveling the same speed as other cars around you is considered speeding. (Which technically it is) I am not saying I wasn't speeding, but what I am saying is everyone else was speeding too. Why he picked my little Nissan Leaf out of the crowd I do not know. But I later figured out that my little trek down Washington St. was a speed/whatever the copy says it is trap. Later, the same copy gave me a ticket because I turned down a street that had a sign that says do not turn after 6:00am. (I have to admit that I have never even noticed this sign. Also, during the 2 years driving down this street I have turned left numerous times. Not saying I wasn't at fault, just saying that cut me some slack) Why I say cut me some slack? Because one, you already gave me a speeding ticket a few weeks earlier and two, you know I wasn't doing it to be sneaky, because I saw the cop he wasn't hiding. You would think after the other ticket he would be like well since you drive down here a lot I am going to give you a warning. But nope another ticket. Let me also add that this all happened in April. When did he file it... October. So I had to wait forever just to find out what the damage. I was going to just deal the issue by paying the tickets, but then I remembered that I have ARAG through my job which is legal insurance. What does ARAG stand for you may ask? Allgemeine Rechtsschutz-Versicherungs-AG and they are based in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia Germany. Is this at all important? Not really, but I was surprised they were German based and figured I would mention that I was surprised. Anyway, I went to the website and chose a lawyer from a list of people. I picked Robinson Sookdeo Law because I recognized her from a Yelp pop up advertisement. I checked the review (only one but 5 stars) And decided why not. I called and made an appointment, then I drove to downtown Riverside. I parked, paid money for the wrong parking spot, stopped a meter cop, he fixed it by giving me a coins, then I was solicited by another lawyer on the sidewalk that asked me if I need legal advice (weird) and then I proceeded to walk past the building twice. Once I figured out where I was going and that she was on the 2nd floor I opened the door and was greeted by looks of confusion. This made me confused and embarrassed thinking I walked into the wrong office. When I told Shumika T. R. Sookdeo, Esq (full name) my name her face change from confusion to recognition. She mentioned that her secretary added my appointment to a different date. She asked me what was the issue, and while I was telling her she started reading me thinking I was one of those people that doesn't tell the whole truth when providing information. I figured as an attorney she probably deals with people all the time that doesn't tell her all the information up front. Just like on TV. lol. Once we got that out of the way, she told me she would be making my court appearance for me and that I didn't have to go. (Which was awesome, because I couldn't get time off work.) After the first court appearance they made a court date, and the officer agreed to downgrade the ticket to Coasting which means no points on my DMV record. Yay!!! I still have to pay the ticket though $402. Boo! But with no points it keeps my car insurance down. Yay!!!! I will say that Shumika is stern, blunt and to the point, but still manage to somehow come across as friendly and trusting. The only slight issue I had was that after she went to court for me, I wasn't contacted within a week. I did call, however and her secretary provided me with the information right away. And I pretty much wrote it off as her being a busy attorney. She did call me soon afterwards and provided me with the information and sent a letter for my records. If I need help again, I will get ARAG insurance up and give Roinson Sookdeo Law a call. Of course, I hope I don't have too though.

We reached out to her by email and she responded to us expeditiously with a lot of great information we were able to work with right away. After hearing about our situation, she provided us sensible counsel with regards to our legal options and the family law procedures we should take. Laurel is very honest, trust-worthy, empathetic and knowledgeable in her field. We were extremely lucky to have found her and grateful that she represented us. Two days after we retained Laurel and her law office, we were able to get the proper, signed consent forms from the dissenting party. And, this allowed us to get the emergency passports for the children and fly back to the US. Thank you to Laurel and her team for being there for us during a most difficult time.

Our family went through an unimaginable nightmare that I wouldn't wish on anyone. My sister's…read moreex-boyfriend came home one night drunk and violently attacked her and our entire family. He was arrested, but days later he posted bail and was set free. We believed we had an airtight case: over 20 photos showing the injuries, a video of him admitting guilt, and statements from the children confirming the abuse. We thought the truth would prevail without the need for an attorney. We were wrong. Just three days before our family court hearing, he maliciously filed a false CPS report claiming my sister abused the children. CPS showed up without a professional sign language interpreter, despite my sister's deafness, and I had to step in to interpret. The children clearly told CPS they felt unsafe with their father and confirmed the abuse. Even though CPS wrote this in their report, in court his attorney twisted the facts, claimed I manipulated the conversation, and had the report thrown out on a technicality. Within five minutes, the judge shockingly awarded full custody to the abuser, who still had pending felony charges. In the following weeks, CPS reopened the case and we watched helplessly as the children were interrogated under their father's influence. It was the most unjust and painful experience of our lives. That's when we hired Christopher Hernandez in Riverside, thinking legal representation would save us. Unfortunately, Christopher failed us at every turn. We paid nearly $15,000 for constant frustration. He rarely answered calls, forcing me to call multiple times a day just to get any response. He juggled too many cases at once and admitted to it. Worst of all, when it came to court, he repeatedly forgot the facts of our case--facts I had thoroughly gone over with him many times. Every time we appeared before a judge, the opposing attorney ran circles around him, leaving us devastated and without real representation. It was clear he never truly cared about our family or the outcome. In what felt like our final attempt to save the children, we contacted the office at Laurel Buchanan. From the moment we spoke, Laurel's intelligence, professionalism, and genuine care were evident. She listened carefully as I explained the entire case and, within minutes, repeated back every critical detail with precision. Unlike the first attorney, she immediately identified where the court and CPS had failed and laid out a real legal strategy. Laurel showed us laws and protocols the previous attorney never even mentioned. She made it clear we had a legal path to reverse this injustice. Laurel and Wendy fought for us like no one else. Her knowledge of family law was unmatched, and she approached the case with both sharp legal skill and sincere compassion. She battled a dishonest opposing attorney and a flawed system with tireless dedication. Thanks to her and Wendy, we won. The custody order was reversed, and the children were returned to my sister. It was such an emotional victory that my sister cried--and Laurel, who had poured her heart into our case, shed tears with us. Laurel Buchanan didn't treat us like just another file; she treated us like family and fought for us as if it were her own loved ones in danger. She changed our lives. I would recommend her to absolutely anyone who needs an advocate against a broken system or a manipulative opposing party. She is brilliant, fierce, and compassionate--the very definition of what an attorney should be. Thank you Laurel, here I am a year later writing this review and I am still left for words for everything you did for us. When we thought it was almost over for us, you came to save and change our life's forever. We are forever thankful with you and Wendy, and the team. Thank you.
