I was told that another technician would test drive the car to see if he noticed anything. He did not hear a rattle, either. I settled on the distinct possibility that the rattle I was hearing was in my own head. They checked everything out and assured me that everything was fine. When I went to pick the vehicle up, I asked how much my bill was. I was told it was zero. This was a situation they could have taken advantage of, but they didn't. Whenever my car does (legitimately) need service, this will be the place I take it.
