Ever since the king of them all, Five Guys, there seems to hundreds and hundreds of gourmet QSRs that command top tier prices for a typical commodity like a cheeseburger. The problem is that Goose Creek Village seem to be a revolving door for one-off restaurants to poor performance. I've been here a few times, mainly because it's down the street from my house, prices are fair and the food it really good! At first when I saw the same, I thought it was bad attempt at copying at the "Shake Shack" franchise moniker (and also because I had never heard of the original BS Chantilly), but after eating the food, this place actually does burgers right! My favorite is the pineapple teriyaki burger. When I bring my kid, we get her the grilled cheese because she loves cheese and the portion of fries that comes with the kids meal is really enough for two people - and yum. There is a small patio in front to eat outside when the weather is nice also. Can't go wrong with Burger Shack! Haven't tried any of the shakes, so it's 3.5* for now. read more

Burger Shack is A-OK and I woulnd't mind going back. Service is warm, friendly, and enthusiastic - they genuinely seemed happy to be there and happy to serve us. Prices were reasonable. Up-check for the place seemed pretty clean. Burgers were very juicy - and hence very messy and dribbly, but tasted very good. Make sure you tear off several paper towels off the roll on your table before you start eating because you're going to need them. I had the West Coast burger and the garlic parmesan fries. The garlic fries were overpowering. My wife wasn't very happy with me. My picky-eater son didn't care for it though, but that shouldn't count against them because... well... he's picky. Unfortunately, since he didn't like it, that means I probably won't be back unless it's just me and my wife. Up-check for good music playing in the background. Down-check for no sound-dampening materials. The place didn't seem very busy, but it was very loud and hard to carry on a conversation with my wife sitting across the table from me. The mushrooms tasted fresh and the burger was grilled to perfection. I found out this is a family run establishment- one that I want to support. The burger did not have that seasoning that some places add- some place that rhymes with "flies". And does not have that loud obnoxious music the other place has. Went yesterday and had my "trial" burger (I always start with a basic hamburger). They make them to order, so I had to wait. So I sipped on my chocolate malt. Good, but not extraordinary. The burger itself was cooked to order (medium rare), and came on a nice brioche bun. The lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle were fresh and crisp. The burger was a good start; I'll go back again for one. But later, I checked the carryout menu and saw they offered a Chicago Hot Dog. That hit my hot button, as I love a tasty red-hot. So I went back today and got the "combo" (dog, fries and drink). The hot dog was well prepared, although I didn't see the bright green relish. But the sport peppers, pickle wedge, celery salt were all there, and it was tasty enough to come back again. Ever since Windy City Red Hots closed their truck at Blue Mount Nursery, fighting traffic to get into Leesburg has been enough to make me not want to make the effort. My first visit to Burger Shack and it was mixed experience. My son and I each ordered a burger and a chili cheese fry and we had a naked wing to go (meaning buffalo sauce on the side). I guess the young cashier did not hear us but we got all our order packed to go, but we decided to eat our burgers at the locale. My burger in a foam container and when I opened it was soaking wet. It must have not been more than a minute that they packed. I asked for lettuce, tomato and onion on my Swiss mushroom burger. The bottom bun was coming to shreds because of how wet it was. Had I taken home to about five minutes, the bun would have liquified. I take it that the liquid might come from the grilled mushrooms but it was still a poor preparation. As to the taste, the burger was good, it deserves a second chance. The chili fries were decent. I know that the fries come from frozen packed fries which is normal in many burger joints unlike five guys and In N Out that makes it freshly cut fries. It is convenient cuz its close but they have many good competitors nearby, Burger 21, Elevation Burger, Wegman's is awesome, Clydes' burgers are excellent though pricier... I had the ring of fire burger w/sweet potato fries and I must say my lips were tingly lol. I got the Ring of Fire! A delicious cheddar and jalapeno bun, with a 7oz burger, topped with sriracha mayo, pepper jack cheese, fresh jalepenos and a large onion ring. You will need a few extra napkins, but this meat has flavor, the bun has flavor and it all comes together great, especially with the crunch of the big onion ring. I could have taken a bit more heat, but they so have sriracha sauce on the side. My daughter got to build her own burger. Even the 4oz burger seemed so big, she took half of it home. They serve tater tots, which always remind me of my childhood. She also had a mint chocolate chip shake, which was the real deal. No shake machine here. This was real ice cream. You wait for your food and they deliver it, but that is the extent of the service. This place is always very clean and our waitress (don't know her name) was really friendly. However, the food wasn't so great. I ordered a cheeseburger and I saw ice particles on my burger and my bun was very stale. The fries were also cold. I've never heard of a place with food like that. Sure, there are ones like Fuddruckers that aren't so great either, but they still try their best to make sure the food isn't artificial or bad tasting. The delivery did take quite a long time and the food was cold; however, that is on Postmates, not Burger Shack. However, we ordered the cod filets (fish n chips) and we were sent chickens tenders. When I called the restaurant I spoke to Eddie the manager and he said "what am I supposed to do about it?" Well, you are supposed to make sure the order is correct. He said I would have to place a new order through Postmates and they 'probably won't charge you.' The manager was rude, interrupted me and never apologized for sending out the wrong food.
