She did Friday night heavy appetizers and hors d'oeuvres and on Saturday- a full dinner. Everyone raved about the food. I would especially highlight her roast beef which was out of this world... Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy. Her smoked salmon platter was incredible as was the spinach and artichoke dip. (Still thinking about it!)!Really, everything was great but those were the highlights! Many of my family members who live in Savannah plan to use her for future catering. She was very communicative and responsive easy to plan with and delivered on time! I can't say enough good things.

I being from Savannah had not heard of this caterer. Her website was wonderful and the reviews were great. But still it was like taking a shot in the dark but boy let me tell you I hit the Bulls Eye when I hired Miss Shannon and her crew to do a Friday night low country boil for a bunch of out of town guest. I wanted them to have a taste of the low country while visiting Savannah. I also just wanted to enjoy my guest and not have to worry about a thing. Miss Shannon and her crew did an excellent job and the food was amazing. Everyone loved everything they put in their mouths. She is super professional and I loved working with her. From now on when I have to feed more than twenty people at my home Miss Shannon will be the first person I call!

We appreciated their willingness to make an exception and were asked during our conversation a week prior to send over a tasting menu. We sent the requested information, but according to the owner, the email was not received, and our tasting was subsequently canceled. Unfortunately, we did not discover that the tasting had been canceled until the day of the appointment--after we had already traveled to the area specifically for several wedding tastings, as we do not live in South Carolina. We completely understand that emails can occasionally be missed, but communication is an important part of the wedding planning process, particularly when clients are traveling from out of state. A simple confirmation or follow-up regarding the missing tasting menu would have allowed us to address the issue before making the trip. While we appreciate that the business was willing to accommodate a special request, the lack of communication and the fact that we were only made aware of the cancellation upon arrival left us extremely disappointed. Based on this experience, I unfortunately would not feel comfortable recommending the business to another couple planning their wedding.

PSA: There is (FINALLY) an Asian grocery store in Richmond Hill! Can you believe it? Silk Road…read moreMarket (SRM) completes the availability of Asian grocery stores in the three main cities in this area (3 in Savannah, 1 in Pooler and now 1 in RH). A friend told me about Silk Road Market (SRM) last week, so of course, I had to check it out! SRM is located in the Ways Station at the Crossroads shopping center, in the corner lot between Midnight Star Pottery and The Book Store on the Hill. - Parking - Center lot. - Service - The owners are a husband and wife team. The husband was present at the time of my visit and he was really nice. He told me that they had been open for a couple of months already and that it was going well. He has been overwhelmed with the response they have been getting, which makes me smile because that just goes to show the NEED for specialty grocery stores even in small towns like RH! - The Goods - The shop is well spaced out, giving the impression that it is well stocked, but not stuffy or disorganized. When you first walk in, to the left, there are baskets of snacks and produce that do not require refrigeration propped on wooden box crates. There are things like Korean Sweet White Potatoes (my fave!), garlic, squash etc. The left wall is lined with the freezers filled with dumplings, seafood, Korean fish cakes and refrigerators with kimchi (made in-house) tofu and produce that do require refrigeration like herbs, different variety of mushrooms (Enoki, King Oyster, Shiitake), cilantro, watercress (yes!), Thai Sweet Basil, bok choy, Japanese eggplants (win!), Perilla (sesame) leaves (say what?!), Nappa cabbage, fresh Kaffir lime leaves (yaaaaaaas!), etc. There is also a small stand alone fridge (kind of looks like those drink fridges at the checkout aisle) on the back wall, by the back office, that have Korean daikon radish which are fatter (can I get a whoop whoop?) and Japanese daikon radish which are thinner and longer. This is amazing (for me)! Most of the produce is already portioned, packaged and priced. There are 4 aisles: 1st - mostly dried goods and dried noodles (variety of rice, pho noodles, pancit canton noodles, rice sticks etc., rice papers) 2nd - sauces and canned goods 3rd - instant ramen noodles and snacks 4th - housewares (love this section, brings me back to the markets in Asia) and coffees and teas I picked up a few things, but this visit was more to check out the shop. My friend had told me about SRM AFTER I had done a major shopping trip at Viet Huong in Savannah a few day prior (I'm like, Nooooow you tell me LOL). They seem to carry a good mix of products of most of the Asian countries (except Indian, didn't see any Indian products). For me, the produce section is the biggest win in any Asian grocery store. You can do one trip every few months of dried/canned goods and condiments that will last you for awhile, but it's the produce that I need more often. Love that SRM has come to RH and that the community has embraced it! The owner told me that they've had a hard time keeping the shelves stocked, which is great because as a biz owner, that's a good problem to have and as a customer, that means faster turnover for the produce which means fresher! Also, another note, the prices are pretty reasonable at SRM. Even though stores like Publix and Kroger have diversified their International sections, the prices tend to be a bit higher. COVID-19 observations: Owner was wearing a mask and so were the customers. Stay safe, Friends and happy cooking! Oh, btw, on their Facebook page, they share Asian recipes so you can get some inspo and plan ahead!

I did not find everything I wanted and the tofu selection was there but wasn't wildly impressive as in some of the bigger markets. So I got a few worthwhile items for a reasonable price and got out with a handy menthol candy that they offer for free at the register. You'll find better selection in the bigger cities, but for what it is, this place did a good job.

Needless to say, it wasn't inexpensive, but I was wiling to make the purchase because my son was celebrating a milestone, and that cheesesteak sandwich is his favorite. We were going to go to the restaurant but opted to stay home. At 5:20pm the order is waiting pick up. Over an hour later, at 6:30pm the order finally arrives. Sandwich and fries were completely soggy and cold. Pizza was also soggy. I had to put it in the oven to crisp up. Dominoes would have been better and cheaper. According to the driver, she had to sit in traffic on I-95. I live near downtown Savannah, and this restaurant is in midtown. Why is she coming from I-95? I am assuming they are short on drivers. I reached out to SAVtakeOut several times. I even called Oak 36. Finally SAVtakeOut answered, and she said that she needed to speak with her supervisor about a refund. I must have called 15 times. Buyer beware that there delivery service may not be prompt. Food may sit for awhile. This isn't a "boutique" delivery service. Just order from one of the other mainstream services. Also, restaurants be weary of using a delivery service that is not up to par. It hurts your reputation as well. The buck stops with you.
