This particular location has become a dump. Messy store and sales rep can hardly speak English. All they look for is a sale for their commission. Latest was dealing with my dishwasher which was under warranty. After 5 attempted to fix, warranty decided to give me a store credit. To my dismay, it was a warranty that worked on depreciation, which meant I only got half of my money back. Apparantely there are 2 different kind of warranty, which was never explained or offered at time of purchase. Called customer service 3+ time but no call back. Finally Store Manager did call back. Did not give me a chance to explain my situation, did not listen nor did he care. Was very quick to get me off the phone. I did purchase a new dishwasher cause of the store credit but I will never ever by anything from the Brick again. So disgusted from this Canadian Company and quality of all their furniture is absolutely garbage and a very high price. Then the President goes on national TV about service and their commitment. Bricks is the most problematic company. It's a thief company. The sales staffs are only interested in selling and making commission. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with both the quality of the mattress and the complete lack of customer support. The bedbugs should never have been an issue, and the company's refusal to address the problem has left me feeling unsupported and frustrated. Wouldn't buy another thing from this place most of their furniture is made by the brick they don't tell u that and it's JUNK bought a sofa 1600$ and paid extra for extended 4 yr warranty . I bought in July and in November the middle cusion started to sink in I had only had it 4 months !!! Became very uncomfortable called the brick put in a claim had service guy come he tore sofa fabric off and tried to stuff foam for support under neath but didn't work removed waited 4 months for a new middle cusion first Xmas with new sofa ruined cant sit on it . Tons of calls to them broken promises LIES ACTUALLY told to me finally in January I get cusion ITS THE WRONG SIZE OUT 2" in thickness .called them more lies !!! Had enough looked into small claims court has to be over 5000$ in BC so couldn't do a thing there . One is too generous! Trying to get a fridge THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR has been a debacle. First delivery attempt was a NO SHOW, without any communication on their end. Second delivery attempt yielded the same result! I don't know how they stay in business. To make matters worse, Person A to.d me to contact Person B about the issue. I see enough of their ads in the paper, hear them on the radio, and see their tv commercial's, and when my washer downstairs was starting to make weird grinding noises, and leaking water I had to come here, not to purchase a machine, but to actually access the warranty we bought on the thing. Good thing we bought the warranty, and it did cover the parts needed to repair, and the labor. Luckily my mom was sold this when we bought our washer here, and it came in handy. We came to the store, as my mom misplaced her paperwork, they gave us the 1-800 phone number and said they would have the records from the phone number and address we used when we bought the machine. I decided to walk the store to see what they have, this is a full-on furniture store, from your kitchen big things like fridges, stoves, microwaves, to your washers and dryers, sofas, tv's, vacuum cleaners, beds, dinner tables. Of course everywhere you walk and look in this big place some salesperson will come out asking if they can help you in finding what you need, pretty normal. From the outside I always wondered what was inside, and I don't typically just stop and go check out what they have, I've seen enough of their flyers at home. Not always are they the cheapest, but they do also offer price matching. Came here to buy a washing machine. Parking is available in the nice large lot out front. A sales guy greeted us promptly when we walked in - guess business was a bit slow, as I noticed some other sales guys milling about. As I asked about the different washers, he pointed out the different features of each one. Like any typical sales guy, though, each time I changed my mind, he would steer me in what he thought I was leaning towards. They have extended warranties here, and they do try to give you a better deal if you go for it. However, I've never been a fan of them (easy moneymaker for the store), so I politely declined. The sales experience was quite pleasant overall though. The delivery went well, except they tore up the floor of the laundry room. Not too happy about that, but these machines are heavy after all. I did have a chance to walk through the store and see some of the other sections. They do have a half decent selection, but obviously the store is much smaller than Ikea, and Ikea doesn't sell appliances. With that said, the overall environment did look quite depressing - I wouldn't want to hang out here daily. read more

Went to a few places today to check out a mattress. It's getting pretty squishy in a double for me and my dog. He's a puppy and he's been growing and taking 90 percent of the bed... so I thought it would be time to get a bigger one. First I went to Casper and brought my pooch to find the right size of bed for the both of us. They welcomed us as understood our needs. Let us both test out the beds, treated us well and tried to find us a solution. Then I went to the brick. Manager told me to pick up my dog rudely and didn't offer assistance. No one helped me with beds. No one asked if I needed anything. I didn't even feel welcomed in the store with my little sleeping companion. Well we left and didn't buy anything. If you are looking for a mattress or good customer service, I suggest you look at more forward thinking companies who care about your family (People or pets!) I went to the Grandview Highway Brick store this morning at first opening. I was on a mission, knew basically what I was looking for, and was thinking that, if I had to spend or waste too much time in the Brick store waiting for service, I would go to another store to buy what I needed as I did not have a lot of time. Once I entered the Grandview store, I had the very good fortune of being asked by sales associate, Allan Zhang, if I needed assistance. Two hours later, I have the new bed and sofa/loveseat I was after, and at better prices than I had in mind when I went into the store, Allan was so patient, thorough and knowledgeable, it was truly a pleasure to work with him. I am of an mature age where I expect good customer service like "it used to be", and I received exactly that from Allan! What an asset he is to your company! I am moving to another province this month and had to have arrangements made for this new furniture I was buying to be delivered to my new residence in the new province, but in my absence. Allan was tireless in making telephone calls on my behalf, checking with the Brick store in my new city for availability, delivery options, etc., etc. Kudos to the Brick for hiring praiseworthy talent... talent like Allan at being a good customer associate and truly assisting customers. They are very quick in closing a sale making promises to deliver on time despite being given enough allowances for Covid.. I bought a couch on September 27 and was delivered November 29, 2020... iT was promised between November03-15 and no one tried to call about the delay in delivery. I had to call them twice, meantime, I've made three payments already and am left without a couch. For an expensive couch, there was no care kit as promised or instruction manual nor top grain leather authentication accompanying the couch.. it smelt strongly like plastic. read more

I made the claim by a phone call to the store and expected I would probably have a hassle in my claim. However I was pleasantly surprised to find that the refund had showed up on my subsequent viewing of my credit card site. This happened in less than a month! I am writing about the OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE we received from the Vancouver Grandview Highway location and their sales associate Jennifer Zhao. The moment we entered the store, Jennifer quietly approached us and asked what we were interested in purchasing, which was a mattress. She listened carefully to our requirements and proceeded to direct us to the available choices. One of the many things that I appreciated about her service was her ability to understand what we wanted and sort through the choices before presenting and potentially overwhelming us with store options. She suggested that we try out the different mattresses, not once but several times. Not only did she "up sell" us on the more expensive model but because I trusted her expertise, I decided to purchase another mattress. When I asked about her previous work experience she readily shared information which built my confidence in her product knowledge. Although I hadn't considered buying mattress protectors, she recommended some and we bought 2, one was the most expensive protector. All in all our experience as first time Brick customers was outstanding. Thanks to the Brick for hiring Jennifer!! I can't believe how happy I am with our purchase and feel such peace of mind that we made the right choice coming to the Brick. A little aside we went to another mattress place before coming to you and were underwhelmed by selection and lack of customer service. We're a couple that recently moved to Vancouver from overseas. We spent the first 6 months living in a furnished apartment and recently moved to an unfurnished place, so we need to buy EVERYTHING! We ended up buying most of our stuff from 3 places; The Brick, Mobler and Ikea. The first time we went to the Brick, the sales assistant seemed really helpful. She spent hours with us, going through each department, showing us the different stock that they had, and making a list of everything that we were interested in. We knew that Brick often allow you to negotiate the price when you're buying a lot of things, so it seemed logical for us to try to get the most from them and get a good discount. The total cost of everything that we wanted, from the sofa to the bed to the TV stand and bedroom furniture initially came up to over $7,000, but with all the offers that they had on, and the additional discount that we negotiated it came down to just over $5,000. They were throwing in a free 55" LCD TV with the bed that we were buying too. We felt pleased with the offer, but decided to shop around before we committed to anything. We found a few better offers for some items in other stores, so went back to the Brick to change and finalize the order. But when we did, we discovered the sales assistant and totally messed up the order (for example, she'd only listed half of the L-Shape sofa, and it was L-facing the wrong way!). If we hadn't gone back to change the order, but had just gone to pay for it, we would've ended up with all the wrong stuff being delivered! However, we did eventually get a great sofa, and a sofa-bed and the delivery guys were really nice.... but the bed that we ordered is defective. A technician from the Brick has been out to see it, and has submitted a report for it to be replaced, but now the Brick have to get it signed off by the manufacturers! Also, the mattress cover that they delivered was the wrong size! As we weren't that keen on the TV they were offering, we did persuade them to give us the value of the TV off the price, which was good. So basically, if you haggle and negotiate, you can really reduce the prices, but in the end, you get what you pay for. read more

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon looking for a dining table. Huge showroom. Probably a dozen or less customers. About a dozen sales people all sitting in one corner chatting. I walked right by them towards the dining tables, and didn't even get so much as a smile. Then a few minutes later a couple started hovering over, and one nice gentleman asked if I needed help. The other few just hovered. Thankfully, they DIDN'T have the table I wanted. So I didn't have to go against my morals of purchasing somewhere with awful customer service. We renovate and sell houses and have been doing so for many years and each house has the brand new appliances bought from the Brick. Our salesperson, Sanjay Patap Singh has cared for all our purchases with outstanding service. I have always enjoyed working with him as he searches for the best possible deal for the quality of the item I'm looking for and sometimes, I think I've done the research and want to buy a specific item and Sanjay will make sure I know all of the details, which sometimes results in choosing a different product. I've always purchased the warranty packages with all the appliances, and even though I'm usually spending about $10,000 per appliance package, Sanjay has always suggested that the purchase of the warranty package is a great option because if you don't end up needing it, the cost of the warranty is credited back to your account. Win-win! If I could offer any advise about shopping at the Brick, it would be to contact Sanjay Singh at the Brick for the most incredible service! Thanks Sanjay! read more

We were in the market for a new laundry center. We decided to try The Brick. BAD IDEA. Our salesman, one of several sitting on some couches, was more than happy to help us. We ended up buying a Ge laundry center, a floor model, with a full warranty. The deliver men destroyed a part of our laminate, the washing machine drum was unhinged and banged around THE FIRST TIME WE USED IT. Best part? The machine flooded our basement, flooded under our laminate, and we had water exiting electrical outlets downstairs. I called head office in Edmonton, receptionist said she was too busy to listen as the phones were ringing constantly. We could not get through to warranty, and they never called back. When i retried it said phones were down? Fortunately they returned our purchase price, and removed the unit. However I have water damage to repair, and probably will not venture to a Brick for any future purchases. read more

We shopped around for a couch from all the usual shops. We were hesitant on shopping at the Brick - didn't want to buy and "not pay till..." Thing the Brick offers. But we were helped by a sales associate named Jovan. Extremely helpful, knowledgeable and NOT pushy. We had some problems with the size of our elevator but Jovan was able to help us select a couch that met our needs and would be able to fit in our elevator. I never set foot in the stores - this is just my experience purchasing items via their website. I ordered 2 Sierre bedroom sets - and both were delivered on time. We received a phone call one day before to arrange the delivery time. The people delivering the boxes were cortious and professional and even took some pre-assembled items out of the boxes, and took care of recycling the packaging materials. The quality of the furniture is good for the price. Assembly was quick and without a hitch. Given how many items we had to assemble I was positively surprised there were no missing tools or parts. All in all a great experience. Would buy from again! read more

This place is horrible. The customer service people do not know what they are doing. I purchase a queen mattress set and a sofa. I kept going back and forth for my refund. The first time I went here the manager was not there to process the refund. The second time, the customer service said that she did not see that I have a refund, so I went home and check all my invoices. I saw that they charged me for the deliver fee which supposed to be free. These people do not know what they are doing. Terrible service. read more

We went to check out a crib for our baby, and saw one that was discounted. Since there was nobody upstairs in the kid section, we asked someone from downstairs for help. Jovan was helping us. When we saw the crib was 3 in 1 convertible, we asked how it would convert, and if it came with extra pieces for it to make it to daybed or full sized bed. He was so confused. He told us it came with 3 pieces, the crib, the dresser and a changing table. But that's not what we were asking. When we said the crib itself should convert to daybed and full sized bed as it showed on the picture of the crib, but he was too lazy to help us check or even look at what the picture said, and just told us the price was for the crib, he didn't know. We obviously knew it was discounted because it was the last one in store, but it didn't mean it wouldn't come with all the pieces it was supposed to come with. All we wanted to know was how the crib would convert, and he was so annoyed and basically told us not to ask any questions, either take it or leave it read more

Do not! I repeat do not shop here!! I bought a $400 warranty and you think the couches would last 3 years?! Then when you ask them to honour they say it's "simple wear and tear" lol such a scam!!! Don't waste your time! In the past 5 years or so, I made the mistake of dealing with the brick twice. Jan 2015, I bought a new washer and dryer, getting the five year warranty, which was supposed be a money back benefit, if it wasnt used. And it wasnt. But, the collection time was up end of April, 2020... in the middle of a pandemic. I work 2 jobs, and 7 days per week. In my main tole, I am a front line worker, and while we had a short stint at home, Mid March-April, we were swamped, bogged down with meetings, training staff in safety precautions among so many other things happening in the interest of keeping people (staff and public)safe. with everything going on. Then I lost a family member, mid April, and on top of everything else (and like so many this year), i was now dealing with this loss. The brick was not at the top of my priority list! When I finally had the presence of mind, I went in and while I didnt have my paper work I was told they could find it in the system. They lied. They told me I had to find my paperwork, but by this time, they said my 90 days to claim was over, but bring it in and they would see what they could do. So, I did. This time I was told they had extended the time a whole 30 days but it was with the warranty dept, not the store (not what I was told the first time) and no offer of a store credit, nothing! The second purchase was to purchased a couch from the brick, faux leather but I bought the conditioner and applied it regularly however within 2 years, it started to shed, right down to a thin layer of material much like a dust cover on a box spring. I tossed the couch, such a waste. Such compassion... They wont get any more of my money! read more

No where is that mentioned on the website that I could find. No mention of this fact from sales person when I was was pondering the furniture. Basically no opportunity to see if the furniture fits, looks good or even matches, which it didn't. Bought 2 side tables to go with the same brand/model coffee table I got earlier, turns out the new side tables are a reddish brown whereas coffee table is a much darker brown. To the Owners, Managers and all concerned, I had the Worst experience during my visit to the Brick store on Grandview Highway in Vancouver B.C.I went there on November 9th,2019. I was interested in the sale items that were advertised on line and also on the Brick flyer. I had all these plus pictures of items with prices on my phone as well. I met with a salesman who had No name tag. He was on a scooter but was able to walk to the computer without any aide. After looking at the same items on the floor I asked this man to give me a quote. I was sitting very close to the computer and saw every price he typed. They were all much higher than the prices advertised on line and the flyer price. After him being on the computer on the for about 10-12 minutes, I asked what price did he come to. He would NOT give me the price unless I gave him my name. I wanted to see another salesperson to that he said you cant do that, then I wanted to go to another store, I meant JR furniture next door he said firmly "you cant do that". Which planet does this man comes from? Why was he NOT wearing a name tag? This man did not know that I had proof of prices with me at the time. I found him dishonest, belligerent, disgrace to the Brick stores and the Brick family when he does NOT honor the posted prices. I wonder how many customers he has robbed in brazenly . This dishonest man thinks he makes money by robbing descent people who go there in good faith to buy furniture or anything that Brick sells. I must admit I said to him that his karma has put him in this scooter. My question to the Brick is do you honor your posted prices or the salespeople think that the customers are dumb and stupid just like this individual thought of me. Is is right to rob customers and disregard Brick's posted prices. What can Brick do so that this Never happens to any other customer in future. Honesty is the best policy. First off, the warranty is NOT worth it don't even bother. We purchased the warranty for our sectional and after only a few months had problems with it. I emailed, I called and they refused to send anyone. Finally after over a month of going back and forth they sent someone to have a look and right away he said they should replace this. We were asked to pick a new piece and we did back in March and it was supposed to arrive in a month. They since have pushed back the date 3 times. We went in again asking for ANY couch that they had because the one at our place is dangerous and my kids and I have all suffered bruises and cuts that have bled pretty bad. They didn't have anything in stock that was in the color grey. They asked us to wait till end of September/beginning of October. It's now mid-October and still nothing. I tried calling and they wouldn't even pick up. I understand the delays because of COVID but products we ordered a lot later have all arrived...and we weren't even picky we just asked for any grey piece they have how difficult can that be! read more

Wow. I just... Wow. I have NEVER, in my life, received such disgustingly poor service. Just. Wow. We were moving and wanted a nice, new couch for our new place. We were excited to pick something out and we're happy to pay the nearly $2k it cost. The salesman was nice enough, a bit pushy and hovery, but that was expected as they work on commission. I totally get it. But everything after we paid was utter bullshit. I called a few days later to see about changing the delivery date. They couldn't find my purchase. I had to call back twice before they found it and were able to change it. The day of delivery the drivers were late, they were rude and they didn't set anything up or take the packing materials as we were assured they would. And surprise! Instead of delivering us the love seat and chaise for our sectional, they left us two love seats. I called the store and they said they'd have to check with the manager to do "paperwork for an exchange". It wasn't an exchange, it was their mistake. They then called the driver to double check and said he told them he "didn't remember anything like that". Excuse me?! Now, I could go on and on about the incompetency, blatant rudeness and lack of accountability for paragraphs but I'll sum it up. I spent days calling them trying to arrange to have the exchange done during which time I was told multiple times I would receive a call back (I had not one) and received almost no answers. On day three I was called by a rude delivery driver that tried to tell me there had been a delivery arranged and he was on his was, when I told him I had to be at work he argued with me, tried to guilt me and then tried to argue that it couldn't possibly take me long to get from my work on Commercial Drive to my new apartment on the far west end of Kitsilano. He then told me I obviously didn't understand that Kitsilano was in East van and that he wasn't "an idiot, ma'am".... Really. He said that. No one apologized until days later when I called them on for being so negligent and unapologetic about it, it was ridiculous. Finally, we arranged to get the correct piece delivered and the delivery drivers (rude, again) couldn't fit the chaise in the elevator. When my husband tried to help them (because it would obviously fit if it was turned properly) they refused saying that it wouldn't fit and they knew better. They then berated us saying we should have measured and they saw it all the time when people don't do their homework - it was extremely condescending. We then argued with them to take the two love seats, after they tried to convince us to keep two wrong half a of a couch... They finally took them back. We then went to the store for our money back, where we then had argue more to actually get it. I might add that out of three other people there at customer service, ALL of them were frustrated and upset with the Brick. It's been just over two months since this all happened and I still can't believe how ridiculous it was. I couldn't make this up if I tried. And if it wasn't so infuriating it would probably have been hilarious how actually terrible all of our experiences here were. I am usually the first to forgive human error and say that it was probably just me and your experience might be better... But would you risk it after this review? I wouldn't. read more

I asked THE MANAGER to ensure that everything we purchased was in stock.....no waiting because this happened at this store before!!! Was told that our $13,000.00 order was ALL IN STOCK! Nope.....found out the day of delivery that half of it was back ordered and would be 2 months!!!! Was told that I didn't have to set anything up, that all the furniture would be assembled and boxes removed! Nope.....dropped everything off a our Condo Door in Boxes.....sign here!!!! Had to spend 3 days putting together EVERYTHING and took "5" Dodge Caravan loads full of boxes, styrofoam and crap to the dump!!! And.....they made me sign for everything before I could open it and check for damages. I was told that they would take everything back to the store if I didn't! What choice did I have????? It was moving day and I had no furniture! I have now a wooden Night Stand with a chip out of the bottom corner......I can't wait to hear why they won't fix or replace it!!!!! Gee is it because I signed for everything before I got a chance to inspect it!!!!! HOW IS THIS COMPANY STILL IN BUSINESS? My Father owned a furniture store in from 1950-2000 and he would roll over in his grave if he saw this.......delivering furniture in a box, lying to Customers to get the sale.....it's all in Stock!!!!! Make a purchase only if you are willing to take the risk of receiving a defected item with no exchange available. I ordered a sofa and a coffee table. The sofa was damaged during the delivery (armrest was crushed) and coffee table had a mechanical defect (lift did not close properly). After lots of calls and being pushed between this Brick store and Bricks Service department. They decided to schedule a technician to inspect the problems. The first time the technician called us at 7am when our appointment was from 8-12. He left after we did not answer his call. Bricks sent us the second technician, who identified the defects and admitted that there indeed were defects, and he sent the report back to the Bricks. About a week later, got a call from them saying the service department had reviewed the report and could not identify any issue with the items. According the them, the arm rest had to crushed more than 50% of the original shape to be eligible for a replacement. The best they could do is to give us a 100 store credit, or have us pay for the delivery for the replacement coffee table. We even purchased warranty when we initially purchased the furniture and given these furniture were received defected, they were not able to provide replacement. If you are willing to take this type of risk, go ahead. There are other furniture stores who can do better than this. read more
