Years ago I went to a few stores locking for a nice couch. I found one that fit my style at the brick. My friend negotiated a very nice deal with a 5 year extended end to end warranty. I Confirmed with the salesman that this would cover re-stuffing as I figured after 5 years of use, it would probably need it. He said for sure and we parted ways happy. Jump to 4.9 years later and I my couch did need some re-stuffing. It also got bleached from the sun which they said would not happen since I had it next to the window. I called them up, they sent a guy over to take pictures and then I heard nothing back. I called them up again and the lady whom answered said that there was no manufacturing issues so it was not under warranty. I corrected her saying that I got the complete warranty which included re-stuffing and why did no one tell me of this until now. She explained that I have the extended warranty which only covers manufacturing defects. I rebutted that if there was a manufacturing issue, would it not show itself within the first year? She agreed. Then she said she would get her manager to call me back. No one called me back. I called a few more times with the same issue, they were not very helpful. I will never buy from the brick again. Not because of the bait and switch on the warranty, (though that has a part of it), but because of the horrible responses I got when trying to deal with the issue. read more

Awful location. I placed an order for a dryer back in June it was never delivered until the first week of October where I eventually had to cancel the order and purchased another dryer it was a mess for my tenants not to have dryer for that long, the manager of the store Kayla and other associates made multiple fake promises and gave misleading information for the dryer to be delivered and every week the delivery date was pushed. What is sketchy is that I was informed that the dryer is at the warehouse and due to some logistics issue it will be delivered on 29th September however upon calling them on the following date the manager Kayla who is obviously very rude, full of attitude and unprofessional informed that the dryer is still on route and it's NOT at the warehouse. This is the worst experience I have ever had from the brick. The management needs to be improved and as well as the communication should be transparent and accurate. Earning customers trust and politeness is one of the major principle while you are in a leadership position which needs to be taught to Kayla. However to keep your sanity avoid this brick location at all cost and try the Whitby location where the customer service was above and beyond!! If I could I would give it zero stars for all the hassle that we had to go through. WORST!! read more

I would give a zero star rating if this form allows me to do so. 1. Not professional staff and salesperson. At one instance when I asked for a clarification about the deal, the salesperson yelled at me saying 'can't you read?'. They also give false promises and underdeliver. 2. Terrible customer service. Some of them are very rude and unprofessional. The customer service is useless, they will never get back to you on the issues you report. You see an email once in a while from them but with no solution. 3. I ordered a bed worth $2800 and I did not get the missing parts for over 2 months now. No one responds back or even apologizes. 4. Do you believe that the manager doesn't have an email or extension? Every time I ask for the manager, they either hang up or put me on hold indefinitely. When I ask for an email of the manager, they say he doesn't have one. I am unsure if this is 2020 or 1990. 5. Got a wrong promotional item and no one takes responsibility. I was promised a $100 worth promotional item and got less that $50 worth item and no one at the store wants to talk to me about this issue or takes responsibility. 6. I have the waste boxes sitting for over two months. The salesperson promised me that the boxes will be taken back after installation but no one came back to take the boxes. There are sitting at my home for over two months now. I am never going back to the brick even though they have good furniture. I would buy at a local furniture store who has better service that these people. read more

Do NOT do any business with this company. Quite frankly one of the worst customer experiences ever. Do NOT buy anything from them as you will NEVER get any sort of support after your money is spent. We bought all our appliances from here for our new house and they delivered our very expensive induction stove damaged and gouged on the glass. Because we waited longer than their apparent '3 day policy' while our renovations finished.(YES, 3 Days and they absolve themselves of any type of responsibility). We have a DAMAGED STOVE in our kitchen still. This is the equivalent of buying a new couch and they deliver it ripped but if you call in after the 3rd day, they have no responsibility for delivering you a damaged product instead of a new one. We just wanted the stove replaced. They refused several times. Directed us to Samsung who wanted to send a repairman that we paid. Absolutely the worst customer service. This is their way of doing business. They make it hard for you to return/refund or replace anything that is under warranty. Do not do business with this company. read more

I would like to give them a negative stars, but have to give one star to post. I bought a King Bed room set and a sectional Sofa from this store. The salesman convinced me bedroom set will be delivered in one week, because we are sold out. Delivery issue : Keep calling the store they never cared, spoke with store manager - everyone said we can't do anything, it is back order. I had wait 3 months to get it delivered (at-least 10 calls and 5 emails). The salesman promised free installation sale time, delivery time he just denied. Damaged Product: Now we open the boxes found the drawers are broken. Called brick again and had send them picture proof. Got the drawers delivered 3 weeks after. After support: Bed support in the middle keeps on moving, it is not sturdy. Three months after, it is middle support is completely broken. Called brick again, need picture proof again, sent them. I had to call them back for stuff by the way, they never called me back- THE BRICK - PROUDLY CANADIAN. The guy over phone told me ok I have created a ticket and ordered the parts. Called back 2 weeks after, another lady picked we need to send a technician to check, then why I have waited 2 weeks ? Now it is been 4 months , I am still calling THE BRICK (at-least 20 calls). I spoke with so many people, their mangers - no result. We are sleeping on the mattress on the floor. I called today evening and another guy picked up and said " you have to wait, it is back ordered". I said can I get a better answer, I do not deserve this answer after 4 months of waiting. He said whatever you say, that is the answer. I asked "can I speak to your Manager?" He said there is no manager now, but answer will be the same. I am felling so frustrated, wrote this long - I hope someone will read. Bought something from here many years ago and honestly it wasn't the best experience ever but on the suggestion of many close friends I decided to give them another chance. My husband and I went back to furnish our newly renovated kitchen and get a few items for the rest of our home and everything has gone so unbelievably well. Our items were delivered on time and set up. Only issue was that one of our products came damaged but we called within the given 48 hours and they sent us a new one today! Very happy with my experience and have seen first hand how much this company has grown. read more

Never ever again. I am another very, very disgusted customer. My experience started March 2014. I bought a drawer a night table and bed frame for about $599.99. What a deal right, WRONG! 2 Months after that the bed fell apart. I talked to them in regards to it, and they charged me again to replace it. The delivery men were given the 'wrong parts' on two occasions (which took them three deliveries to correct). Long story short, the bed fell apart again. Buyer Beware! read more

Took 3 tries to deliver my furniture and still not done! Who delivers a bed with no mattress? The dining table? Went from the second week of May to the third week and they were unable to deliver at the time (12 - 3), Truck rolls up at 4 and the delivery people are rude and act upset the elevator is not waiting for them. By the time my father fetched Maintenance, they took off. Have purchased from the Brick in the past, but this is the last time. Too bad for them I suppose, as we got two more residences to furnish this summer. I am going to highly recommend all my friends stay away from this mismanaged company. read more

I bought a couch and 5 year warranty from The Brick - 1 year ago the couch starting crumbling and falling apart, I tried to get it replaced with the warranty they got me to buy and it's been nothing but lies and excuses as to why they can't let me use my warranty. Finally 3 months after contacting them and countless hours on the phone with this Scarborough location and their long distance warranty head office, they send me my replacement couch with a hole in it. I called them and they said they'd deliver a new one the next weekend - they did not and now when I call they put me on hold and then hang up on me. Honestly, DO NOT buy anything at any Brick ever - prices may be low but you will pay for it in wasted time, phone minutes, frustration and weeding through lies and overtly rude customer services reps. They also lied to me about the 180 day warranty on a mattress I bought there and refused to honour it. Honestly don't know how they're still in business. AVOID them. read more

I paid $1299 for a bedroom set in April 2012, by June 2012 the bed frame was broken in half. It took 3 months to get the replacement which ended up breaking again in the same spot only a few months later. I only ended up getting $150 for the bed as a "refund". I basically paid $1150 for a dresser and night table. The store is Warden/Eglinton that I bought the set from, and even though there are about 20 associates when you go in, they are not willing to help you at all. The brick is the most terrible place to ever buy anything! I tell everyone I know about the company and I learned my very expensive lesson and I won't be making that mistake again! read more

Well, Kennedy Road is full of furniture stores, but many years ago I had furnished my entire apartment through this location. Back then I was an unfeminine grease monkey and went at lunch. No one wanted to assist me. Finally, I snagged one guy who thought he was the unluckiest salesman in the place and not only did I furnish a 2 bedroom apartment, I paid in cash. He wasn't too unhappy when I walked out. Got my things and they lasted a good 15 years through kids, dogs, friends etc. So I went back. Now I'm older and still no 'fashionista'. As I said, Kennedy Rd. is full of furniture shops. I was 'window' shopping but intended to hit a few more places before I made my next 'hopefully' 15 year purchase of a living room set. They had one I loved, but again, no one was jumping out to serve me. I ended up buying from a shop down the road. Similar set, and I love it, but had I received better service, I would have bought from the Brick. Too bad for them....CAUSE I PAID CASH THIS TIME TOO!! read more

The sales staff that helped us were great. They were friendly and accommodating, the delivery guys were also friendly and helpful. That's where the good part ends. The products that were delivered were defective, our mattress was sunk in and bulging out on the left side, the couch had 2 legs that had issues. The first broke when the delivery guys were setting it up, mind you an easier fix as the screw came out of the wood, the other leg however was sticking out the side of the couch. The wood on that side of the couch was not made correctly as it was not aligned and instead of a straight line of wood down the side of the couch it was inwards resulting in a curved angle and the leg stuck way out. The 'technician' came and took pictures. The love seat also had an issue with a leg sticking out the side of the couch. We were told in 3-4 days to call the store to find out the status on the repairs/replacements of the couch and love seat. When my spouse called to enquire and also to ask for a straight exchange on the mattress due to the deformity, the customer service rep through no fault of his own was relaying what the manager, Trevor was telling him. That we would be charged for replacing the brand new defective mattress with a straight exchange. This made no sense as we had the mattress for a week and they claim to have a 90 day guarantee. My spouse asked to speak with the manager, Trevor was constantly talking over him and didn't let my spouse give the information necessary to have a proper conversation about what could be done. Trevor then passed the phone back to the customer service rep while my spouse was speaking. Absolutely unacceptable customer service on the managers part, I will NEVER shop here again and would highly recommend for you to shop elsewhere. When you spend over $2,000 on new furniture you should be treated with more respect. We will be following up with the Corporate office regarding the manager Trevor's behaviour. read more

i am sooo furious with them, i will never ever step foot in there. i bought a leather couch and love seat $2400. before taxes. the couch had a tiny pin hole on the head rest. the brick came to look at it and the offered to give me $250. i thought it was nice of them. i live in a condo, to reserve and elevator and to wait for the brick to come and exchange it it would have been such a hassle. after 3 months, the cushions on the couch are all uneven, there are only 2 people living in the condo, 2 adult, no kids. i called the service department and they send out a person to take photos of the couch and love seat. a week later a serviceman comes to fix the cushions. the couch is worse than before he did anything. i called service dept. again, this time they tell me that i dont have manufacturers warranty. i said to them why did you come out to try and fix it the first time? they said they didnt see the papers that i accepted the $250. when i accepted the $250 the warranty was cancelled, and couch was sold as is. a pile of bullshit, they did not tell me that when they offered me the $250, this all happened in feb 2012, now this is almost 2013, if i pay them back the $250 they still wont come fix the problem because the year is almost up. i want nothing to do with the brick ever, also keep and eye on the toronto star, you will see a big write up of the people they scam!!! read more
