Just moved here from Oregon and was nervous about finding a barber since I have been going to the…read moresame guy for 6 years. Found this place online and decided to give it a try. One of the best decisions I could have made. The inside feels and looks very clean and classy. Everyone in there is very professional and experienced with hair. Chris Cobas is one of the most skilled stylists I have ever come across and one of the nicest guys you will meet here in SC. He was very professional and took amazing care while cutting my hair and beard. Great place and great haircuts!

To start, I booked an appointment with the only female staff(that I'm aware of) there. My reason for this was because I googled characteristics of the type of haircut I was looking for and frankly her name was what popped up as being "very skilled and experienced" with this type of haircut. the morning of the appointment came and I received a text message from a "Madison" stating that she was sick and kindly asked if I would either reschedule or book with someone else. I was unable to reschedule so I went ahead and sought booking another barber in the shop to cut my hair. Unfortunately their haircut price was significantly higher than hers, however it was the option available at the time so I went with it. When I arrived at my appointment this person who needed to reschedule/have me book with someone else was in fact present at the barber shop cutting hair. Obviously I am not suggesting that this was done to be personal because that would be pretty weird and bizarre to think. However it still presented as quite an unprofessional and frankly rude thing to do. in regards to the haircut itself the barber that did the work was very nice and welcoming. i was not satisfied with the haircut that was given and while yes I can admit that in a situation like that it could always be due to how I requested it, possibly poorly described what I was looking for etc etc. That's fine and I understand that but overall I really intended to get my haircut with the person that according to google was "highly skilled" in this particular cut. I have read other reviews on here that would suggest some innapropriate behavior towards the female staff of the establishment has occurred in the past and I don't know what's true and what's not true all I do know for certain is that as a first time customer with no other intentions other than getting a solid haircut, I left feeling quite disappointed in the whole situation. I've rambled enough, but I say everything to simply say... The vibe and so called atmosphere of a place like that ends up coming across as cringe and just not very genuine when the experience that is given doesn't really match the tone that is being attempted.

I am genuinely appalled by the lack of professionalism and customer service we experienced with…read moreDino at Famous Barbershop and Salon in Greer, SC. My boyfriend has made multiple attempts to book appointments with Dino, only to be met with excuses, cancellations, and an unbelievable lack of respect for his time. For his second appointment, Dino canceled on him with no real explanation other than claiming he was "too busy." While we understand that schedules can get hectic, canceling a customer's appointment simply because you're too busy is incredibly frustrating, especially when that customer has taken time out of their own schedule to book with you. Despite that experience, my boyfriend decided to give Dino ANOTHER chance and booked a third appointment. This time, my boyfriend had the courtesy and respect to communicate ahead of time that he would be just FIVE minutes late. Rather than showing even the slightest bit of understanding, Dino responded by saying he didn't want to work with him and, once again, that he was "too busy." Are you kidding me? So apparently it's perfectly acceptable for Dino to cancel appointments when it's convenient for him, but when a paying customer communicates that they're running five minutes behind, suddenly they're not worth his time? The double standard is absolutely ridiculous. What makes this situation even more disappointing is that my boyfriend continued trying to support this barber despite already being inconvenienced. Instead of appreciating a returning customer, Dino made it abundantly clear that his business was not wanted. Being a good barber means absolutely nothing if you don't know how to treat people with basic respect and professionalism. Customers have schedules, responsibilities, and commitments too. Their time is just as valuable as yours. If you're too busy to honor appointments or treat customers respectfully, perhaps you shouldn't be accepting those appointments in the first place. I sincerely hope management takes customer service more seriously because this is NOT how you build a loyal clientele. We will absolutely be taking our business elsewhere, and I would strongly encourage anyone considering booking with Dino to think twice. There are plenty of talented barbers who actually value their customers and understand the importance of professionalism. Extremely disappointing. Completely unacceptable. And absolutely not worth the hassle.
