I can tell you that this place is really unique, more like a coffee shop inside a library. This place was buzzing when we came first lunch. You have to find a seat, then go downstairs to the counter to order. Once you've ordered, you get your drinks on a tray with a number. You tell the counter person where about you are seated and they will come find you with your food. Since this was supposed to be a light lunch, we just ordered a chicken sandwich and a tomato soup. The chicken sandwich was a piece of marinated chicken breast, lightly grilled, served on a bed of lettuce with slices of tomato in a crunchy roll, with a side of roasted potatoes. As good as any grilled chicken sandwich can get. The tomato soup can best described as " tomato-y", soupy consistency and just right for a cold Copenhagen winter day. This place is popular, it can get loud inside and you may have to wait a bit for seats, but come and hang out.

Such a beautiful bookstore! The building is quaint and filled to the brim with books. There is a…read moremain level and then a spiral staircase leading to a lower level. When one enters the store, literary fiction is to the right, poetry is to the left, and there are travel books inside the right corner just above the split level alcove. My goal was to buy a book of Danish poetry, as one of my learning strategies for learning Danish from afar involves me translating a poem from Danish into English every Sunday and attempting to read the Danish poem to my Danish boyfriend over Skype. It is quite difficult to find Danish poems online. Solution: buy books here! The poetry section consists of three shelves and it appeared to me that there was a good mix of very famous Danish poets and other contemporary Danish poets. There also seemed to be poetry that the authors had published through smaller presses, as the covers were of the artistic sort rather than the mass produced sort. Much to my pleasure there also seemed to be just as much poetry written by people with traditionally female names as there was poetry written by people with traditionally male names. I ended up with the collected poems of Tove Ditlevsen (DKK 199,95; $29). There were two shopkeepers in the store when I was there, and the one seemed very friendly as she helped another customer and the other was very friendly as she rang me up (and, of course, had no problem switching to English when she asked me a question in Danish that I did not understand). Why only four stars? It could use a bigger and more varied selection of greeting cards. Picky, picky, I know, but that's the best part of American independent bookstores, in my humble opinion. Nevertheless the store does have the required display of Moleskine notebooks!

What an excellent antiquarian bookstore in Copenhagen! Most books are in Danish but quite a few are…read morein English and other languages. They have excellent history and military history sections and so many others! Their prices are reasonable and their high quality books are in great condition. Their staff are super helpful and suggested similar bookstores in Stockholm and Oslo.

Vangsgaard, the place for booknerds…read more It's sad that they're closing and now selling all their books half price (don't get mistaken this one with bogudsalg one, although they're both closing and offering stuff half price, this place is the one across the street). Here you can find pretty much all kinds of stuff, that's if you know where the look. The curator of the place tried to shelve the book based on categories, but sometimes it's just like giant puzzles there, you figure out which book belongs to what, and when you least expect it, you sort of lean forward and say "Hey, this is interesting! I would never thought I would find it here!" Anyway, still the best place to shop second hand book in Copenhagen. I'll miss it dearly

THE place to get your posters to decorate your home, whether you're into vintage posters, nature,…read moreanimals or one of those kitschy Copenhagen "tourism" posters, this is the place to find it. The price is reasonable, and you can buy it with or without frames (naturally the framing is the expensive part of the price) and you can buy it in any size you want. It's quite overwhelming how many posters they have, I found it hard to navigate myself at first, but please ask the shop attendants since they know where to find what. Have patience though because they're mostly two of them dealing with tons of customers that mostly need help.

What a strange company…read more I ordered a framed poster in January. About a month later I had an email from a staff member apologizing for the delay and saying she would "get back to me". But, it's now April and she hasn't and I assume won't. Slightly worryingly, they have of course taken my credit card details. Maybe the store works well if you visit personally rather than order online. Certainly, their online outlet is truly hopeless.
