I should have read the review above and not the older one that said the place is goodit is not. My wife and four kids decided to eat inside. When we order drinks I asked for a jug of tap water but was told the water here was not fit to drink! Should have walked out at that point but assumed they just wanted money for bottled water. The kids and my wife had cod and chips which was fairly tasteless. The chips were sparse and withered and the fish was presented in a yellowish batter. I ordered the skate and because it took up more space on my plate I got bugger all chips. That was the good part! I have never had battered skate (just butter, garlic, capers and the like) and whilst eating I realised it was undercooked. It was all mushy. I had eaten about half and when I went to the counter to complain a rather aggressive chef said it was fresh fish, perfectly cooked and under his breath to his colleagues said he has a full belly and doesn't want to pay! The young girl working there was very apologetic but the man in question kept shouting across the servery whilst the kids finished there foodgiggling. My wife explained to the man that as a customer we have a right to complain if we don't think the food is good and all we got was abuse. He then came over showing us our left over fish and flaking bits off and say it was perfect. We kept saying we don't want to argue but kept at it and then said I don't care anyway I just work here. Rather than not pay and be chased down the payment with a doner kebab knife wielding chef on our heels we paid £46!, and as the girl was so nice a small tip. DO NOT GO THERE, I'D RATHER EAT COLD LEFT OVER MCDONALDS OUT OF A BIN. Ironically as we left our 6 year old said the fish was nice! read more
