Known for their seafood, we come for the blackened chicken breast which is delicious. Normally quite busy but a small crowd tonight. Server was attentive and knowledgeable. Order came out perfectly!

Crawfish and Shrimp

We came to The Boat because we were craving a seafood boil and had a great dinner! We ordered a pound of crawfish and a half pound of shrimp with sausage to share. We got it medium flavored and I wish we got it spicier because it wasn't as spicy as the waitress said it would be. Personally I didn't think the seafood boil was as flavorful as I'd like but my boyfriend really enjoyed it. We got chips and guacamole that was really good but nothing out of the ordinary. I ordered a house margarita with tajin and thought it was way too strong. I love a strong margarita but there was hardly any lime flavor and it reminded me of my cheap college days . (Of course I still finished it though ) Overall the food was good and the inside made me feel like I was at the beach. It's family friendly but also a great place to watch a game with a full bar. They had live music outside on the patio and all of the staff was incredibly friendly. I would definitely come back but just order a spicier flavor and different drink

We were looking for a nice place to eat while in Austin and were directed to the Boat. I must say I am quite disappointed now, because there is no Houston location! The place was bustling, and for good reason! The interior was fun and clean, with tvs showing various sports games. Despite being busy, our server was pleasant and courteous, making sure we had a place to wait while our takeout order was being completed. The food was well packed and easy to carry. And the food was amazing! From the fettuccine Alfredo to the hush puppies to the quesadillas to the seafood platter, everything was so delicious! And the quantity matched the quality! I was surprised by how various types of cuisine were all made so well by one restaurant. And the brownie dessert was the symbolic icing on the cake! Can't wait to go back there when I'm back in Austin!

A beautiful, tasteful bowl of a fine southern cuisine shrimp & Grits.

When I first walked in the hostess made me second guess me coming to this spot that I made a last second decision on. Once I got past the gate keeper I headed to the bar , which was a litte to close for comfort for me but I got over that inconvenience and order a drink. The ambiance of that place was that of a typical mom & pop casual sea food joint watering hole. The food was the Shrimp and Grits were slapping, could've used a little more seasoning but it was great. The red beans and rice were some of the best that I have experienced in AUSTIN. I will be going back for those dishes.

A unique restraint with a fun boat theme. From the decor to the vibes, the whole place felt like you entered a boat. The food is a mix of Cajun and casual dining. Overall the flavors were pretty normal, nothing too special but standard food is sometimes what you need. Definitely a unique experience and seemed like a great place to bring kids as there were lots of families.

I wanted chargrilled for my birthday so I came here. My oyster were decent, no real complaints. One of my friends had the blackened chicken pasta and she hated it, she said no flavor at all. Another friend had the redfish pontchartrain and she didn't eat much of it due to lack of flavor. My wife had the fried shrimp and fish and said it was too salty. Our waitress was great. The restaurant was very bar like with people yelling and taking shots. If that's the vibe you're looking for, you'll love it.

No idea what he looked like, age, like literally nothing. So I told him the whole back story. And Austin assured me that he had my back, that he was committed, if something went off kilter, that I would give him a look and he would understand the assignment. I think Austin even stayed a little past his shift to make sure I was good. And I just want to shout out to Austin on Thursday afternoon working the bar. First of all, you're a Saint. Thank you. I appreciate you. And secondly, you made one of the best mojito's I've ever had. But seriously, Austin, thank you so much!! I also ordered chips and queso. Which was fabulous. I wish the chips were a little thicker, the queso is thick and rich and the chip breaks when scooping it up. But overall, fantastic. If you haven't been to Haywire, please book mark it. Food is great. Drinks are great. Service has been outstanding, and it's just country chic inside with the crystal chandeliers. So how did this meet up go? It was good. We laughed and had drinks.

One…read morething we still really appreciate is their extended Happy Hour Monday-Saturday -- it's a great deal and gives you the chance to try a variety of dishes without spending a fortune. Unfortunately, despite ordering 10 different items, most of the food ended up being pretty underwhelming. Here's our breakdown from best to worst: Ama Ebi (4.5/5) - Probably the best dish of the night. The shrimp tasted fresh and sweet, and we especially loved that they included the deep-fried shrimp head. Crispy, flavorful, and a nice touch. Crispy Rice Cake (4/5) - Generous portion of spicy bigeye tuna on top. I actually liked that the tuna was roughly chopped instead of finely minced because you could really enjoy the texture. The tataki sauce added great flavor. My only complaint is the rice cakes could've been crispier and less oily. Bigeye Tuna Sashimi (4/5) - Good quality sashimi with nice-sized cuts. Their wasabi had a surprisingly strong kick, which I loved. We weren't served ginger with this dish, which may have just been a kitchen oversight. Tobiko Nigiri (3.5/5) - Our son enjoyed this one. The only thing that threw me off was how dark/black the tobiko looked. Not sure if it's naturally that color or enhanced somehow. Truffle Salmon & Yellowtail Serrano (3.5/5) - Tasted fine but didn't really stand out. Still worth trying during Happy Hour because the pricing makes it a decent value. Kids Bento Box (3.5/5) - Flexible options for kids with different proteins and carbs. The fruit served with it was fresh and sweet, which made the meal feel more balanced and healthier overall. Ceviche (3/5) - Pretty forgettable. Despite having a lot of ingredients, the flavors fell flat. It leaned heavily toward chopped shrimp and lacked citrusy brightness. We actually had to ask for extra lime wedges and remix the dish ourselves, and it tasted noticeably better afterward. Calamari (3/5) - I liked that the dish included tempura vegetables in addition to calamari, but everything was extremely oily. There was literally a puddle of oil sitting at the bottom of the plate, and oil dripped off the calamari when we picked it up. Mochi Ice Cream (1/5) - Easily the worst mochi ice cream I've had. The mochi texture was stale and crumbly instead of soft and stretchy. We tried black sesame and seasonal coconut. The black sesame barely had any flavor, though the coconut ice cream itself was slightly better because it had coconut bits mixed in. Service was good overall. Our waitress was newer but very kind and attentive. If she didn't know an answer, she checked with the team and came back with information instead of guessing, which we appreciated. One thing I do genuinely appreciate about this restaurant is how accommodating they are for gluten-sensitive diners. They offer a separate gluten-sensitive menu and are willing to modify many dishes, which makes dining out much easier for our household. Overall, the Happy Hour pricing and gluten-sensitive options are probably the biggest reasons we'd consider returning, but based on the food alone, the experience didn't live up to our expectations this time around.

We noticed an Ashley nearby waiting on the 3 tables surrounding us and she never acknowledged us.
