My suggestion was actually a hit. I did my indecisive alterego very proud. There are many quality club nights organised by the Lost and Found name and this was no exception. Dance off, being £1 entry, sold it for me. Doubles for £3, a range of sambucas £1.50? Messy. Dance off saw a battle between three major DJs, strangerways, good vibrations and juicy DJs playing a mix of Joy Division, The Temptations and Dr Dre. Amazing combination. Ruby Lounge is renown for it's quality club nights and live music. The venue is perfect, with an adequate dance floor, a stage to match and plenty of seating on a slightly raised level for a chill out. Another great Northern Quarter location that needs to become a regular thing for me.

Well, it wasn't when I was in the Ruby…read moreLounge last night for a Lost and Found gig which is why I felt comfortable to take my boyf in with me. The gig was billed as The Cribs Aftershow but it was basically just a gig- most of the spectators were either in one of the four bands, looked like they should be or were girl groupies who were way too impressed with themselves that they were getting backstage. The sofas and high backed armchairs in the main bar area were nice touches, there were a few mirror balls around too. Plus velvet curtains - hello, strip club? Then you turn to the grimy stage area with the big grill up between the bands and the crowd. That said, no one went past the pillar anyway. Too cool to stand right at the front. Alright drinks prices - get some of their cheap vodka mixers or flavoured sambucas otherwise you'll run out of money quickly. After the bands they had Gareth Brooks from Xfm DJIng but we didn't end up staying.

TL;DR - Still cool, great food and vibes... but service can be slow…read more Came here to enjoy the last day of Eat Out to Help Out. Social distancing is nicely employed - there's a hatch outside for takeaway, and outdoor seating to wait for a table. We sat for about 10 minutes before being invited in. There's a brunch menu at weekends but on a Monday the main offer was pizzas. And they were really, really good... we both had the Pepe Braddock which features n'duja, caramelised onions and roast peppers. The topping on this pizza was absolutely fabulous. We also enjoyed a draught IPA which was nice if pricy (£4.50 a pint). The interior is just as cool as it always was. And they're dog friendly too so you get to watch some adorable four legged friends whilst you're here. The downside though, and the thing stopping a 5* review is that the service was sloooow. We ordered two pizzas, and had to wait about 50 minutes for them. It was reasonably busy whilst we were there but not packed. We'd actually come here because at Folk next door they said it would be an hour's wait for food. If we'd been on a lunch break from work we'd have been in trouble!

It's small and compact and has only a few tables, although i believe there are some more tables and an extra seating area downstairs. We waited at the door for a minute or so, then figured it must be a 'choose a table and order at the bar' type of place because nobody approached us, so we sat at a small table at the top of the stairs. The menu is decent, split out between 'red' and 'white' pizzas - some vegetarian options too. They're all reasonably priced at around £5 - £6.50 and when they arrived they were also reasonably sized. I ordered the margherita, as i believe this how you determine a very good pizza. It was OK. The oven could have been a little hotter, as the base didn't cook completely to the edges and didn't achieve much 'lepoarding' as you expect with usual sourdough wood oven type pizzas. There was also, maybe, a little too much cheese on there and the dough had an excess amount of flour on it, which i had to wipe off to make the crusts edible. For Prestwich, this place is great. But living in MCR and being a regular* at Honest Crust and Rudy's Pizza, this place just isn't that good. The cocktail menu looks great. *more than regular ;)

It's a really nice place and the food is good - I had Tagliatelle Della Casa which in their words is ribbon pasta cooked with chicken, ham and peas in tomato cream sauce - all I know is it was very tasty. If I'm being picky there could have been a higher chicken to pasta ratio but none the less a great dish. I came with my family for my brothers birthday and each enjoyed their dish; my dad had Linguine Con Gamberoni - prawns and scallops with linguine, my mum a Risotto and the little brother a pizza - everything spot on! In a decent spot for a date night, a family me as I did, or somewhere to grab a quick meal before a night out as there are several nice pubs nearby. It's not setting the world alight, but with an extensive menu, competitive prices and good quality food, Ericos is a solid bet.

I didn't think the food was amazing and the large menu includes some random dishes e.g. Mexican that make it pretty obvious they are not trying to be an authentic trattoria etc. Nevertheless, the garlic bread with tomato was fine and although I didn't like the slight sour sauce on our prawns very much, they were at least good-sized ones. Overall though, that starter is not good value at over £7 for 4 prawns. For my main I got cannelloni which wasn't greatly above supermarket ready meal standard but you can't go too wrong with meat, melted cheese and tomato. My bf's mum had ravioli which was served on a massive plate covered in orange sauce - I thought it looked like it had way too much sauce and also the colour was weird. However, she ate it all so it can't have been that bad! Boyfriend's pizza looked ok but due to his hangover he didn't even get through half!

Aside from redecoration and a spacious chill out area, the main difference to the legendary music venue is the stage. There's a spanking new state of the art PA system installed, new lights, new audio-visual equipment and for the jazz fans amongst you, a concert grand piano. What's more, the venue looks set to make local funk, soul, blues, jazz, hip hop and world music fans extremely happy with a packed programme of live shows and deejays most nights of the week. They've already had gigs from Breakestra, Nitin Sawhney and The Mad Professor and Southern soul legend Candi Staton is set to grace the stage in April. The show you have to reserve a ticket for however, is 27 March when 10 piece band Introducing will be attempting to recreate DJ Shadow's seminal Entroducing album live. Yup, that's note for note, loop for loop, for the very first time, live AND in front of an audience! Listen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmzHRGoKca0&feature=related
