Clarice, adopted !
Chris V.

As promised they had the perfect sould mate for my household. Gorda is a senior mastiff and most rescues will look the other way, not big mutts, they posted her and I knew I had to adopt her. Thank you big mutts!! You care enough to!

Alrighty here we go with "the entire story" of Big Mutt Network experience #1 of 4 total. My first foster dog ever, Bubbs who turned into a foster to adopt outcome. Bubbs came from Santa Cruz Animal Control in Nogales, AZ. I remember contacting BMN stating I was interested in fostering him, if he was ok with cats and kids. I was out of town, but once I was back I would be available to take him. Stephanie said she had someone who could pick him up and keep him until then. I remember she mentioned the temp foster had many children and dogs and he did well with all. I have the foster email assignment dated 9/10/21 from BMN. 9/14/21- We met Stephanie at a gas station to get Bubbs. She provided a kennel and half a bag of food. She mentioned he would need a grooming appt and most likely a trainer (can't remember if that was mentioned because of the cat or being a spazz), but she would set all that up. Ok awesome all sounds legit. Once home he did fine other than trying to eat the cat... Stephanie offered to order a shock collar for him on Amazon, but I told her no worries I still had one from our old dog. Shortly after his arrival it was clear he had kennel cough. Ok no biggie most dogs coming out of shelters do, however she was not quick to make him a vet appt and asked if I had any doxy on hand. No I prefer my animals to be healthy so I don't have vet meds at my disposal. 9/17/21 I get him in with my vet to be treated for diarrhea, kennel cough, and receive shots because there was zero medical record on his wagtopia file. $150.21 total for that vet visit. A few days after that Stephanie informed me she had made him a neuter appt at low cost clinic in Tucson (this will be the only time I've ever been granted a vet appt with this rescue) I told her he's still really sick and not showing any improvement yet so I don't think it's ideal for him to be having surgery. She cancelled the appt and then started asking me if I was going to keep him forever because she has potential adopters lined up. Umm yes I want to adopt him, but I haven't even had him 2 weeks and he's still sick and not neutered.... The hounding continued. 9/28 I have a $12 charge from the vet when I had to pick up more antibiotics for him to be on to eradicate the kennel cough. 9/29 adoption contract email 9/30 I paid a $275 adoption fee for a dog I had already spent $162 and some change on and was still needing to be neutered. At this point I'm annoyed with how everything has been handled, but I love my dog and can only hope the adoption fee helps others. This was also my very first foster to adopt experience so unfortunately I was a victim of the fraud. I had kept asking Stephanie for his microchip info so I could get it put in my name. I either got no reply or was told she had to check with the woman who deals with those... come to find out THERE WAS NO MICROCHIP. That was a blatant lie. 12/30/21 Bubbs was neutered, MICROCHIPPED, and got a dental done with an extraction due to a broken canine he came with that had exposed root. $472 total. So there's that first saga. Again I was naive and didn't know how these foster to adopt situations play out... it wasn't until I realized she completely lied about the microchip that I knew the director's motives are not solely genuine. I informed her of there being no microchip and never got a reply. Please refer to the FB group posted below to see my uploaded documents and text conversations with the BMN executive director. I will also post my 3 additional experiences to the page.

I have fostered and adopted from here, they are great people and have wonderful dogs.

Dakota, TBMN Great Dane Rescue

While resource constrained, TBMN manages a seemingly impossible task of rehoming (with evaluations, transportation, medical needs, etc) thoudands of dogs across the country with a network fosters, vets and volunteers. They are super efficient (vs high touch which causes some neg feedback) which is exactly what's needed to save the most number of dogs. Pictured is Dakota, a sweetheart of a dog that needed some socializing with other dogs. Thanks to TBMN, Dakota stands an excellent chance to find her forever home.

I had an amazing experience with these guys! They helped my Irish Wolfhound mixes not only get adopted, but transported to Arizona to their new family! The brother & sister were adopted together and I couldn't have picked better adopters for these two! They have helped many from my area near the TX & NM border. They are extremely friendly and do everything humanly possible to help our canine family! I cannot thank everyone at The Big Mutt Network for everything they did for Ziggy & Raven!!

My two foster pups

I have known Stephanie since before she started Big Mutt and i know she goes above and beyond for the care of any and all dogs out there. I am now fostering for her and have no complaint, whatsoever, she is always available and follows through on any requests I have.

Our Big Mutt rescue

I have been volunteering with Big Mutt Network for about 4 years. We also became a foster fail with our big ol Bear. I have found Stephanie and all the other volunteers to be professional, supportive of EVERY dog they care for. They are dedicated to helping to improve the lives of the animals they rescue. Big Mutt Network is dedicated to saving the lives of those without a voice and we will continue to support them.

This is Tillie. She is the best!!

Norma and Sonya and the rest of the volunteers are great. My wife and I started out trying to foster. After going through the process, we now have adopted a beautiful engilsh bull dog. Bigg Mutt took care of the spay for our dog. Which was very expensive due to the conditions. They also gave us medicines, collars, food, bedding, leash, toys, and a lot of time and effort. They truly are doing great things at a time when animals are been being dropped off at shelters at and alarming rate. Keep up the great work Bigg Mutt, the doggies need you!!!

Lady, Nikki and JoJo

We adopted three amazing pups from Big Mutt. Stephanie and Sonja are AMAZING strong women that do so much to try and save many lives. I can't imagine having to go through some of the things they do. Stephanie was so wonderful and worked with us on adopting a Mom and her two babies. We now can't imagine life without these sweet babies. Thank you guys for all that you do and rescuing so many doggies lives, even with all the hurdles you constantly have to go through!

Snuggles

I've been fostering for Big Mutts, who took on responsibility for this dog from my city's Animal Services. Our pup became severely ill after we had her for almost 2 mo. Stephanie was very helpful and approved us using our vet for treatment and put an advanced credit with the vet. She had 3 dogs in critical care vet units at the same time, with enormous expense. 1 died. Stephanie has given us credit thru pay pal for pup's food for us to purchase. I think Big Mutts take on hard to place dogs found as strays or dumps, and therefore often come with underlying illnesses. Our experience with Big Mutts, is that Stephanie has been very caring and supportive. As of this date, our foster dog, Snuggles, below, is available.

Because our rescue is a network of homes throughout our communities that step up and answer the call to end the animal welfare crisis. Our volunteers, when funded well, remove at-risk dogs straight from the streets and place them directly in to their forever homes within our Volunteer Sanctuary Pool Alliance, and not a temporary overcrowded and poorly funded shelter. This membership, (The VSPA) is one that anybody can join for free. All adoptions are free. And we raise funds to support our members. It's that simple. The animal welfare crisis can not be handled by one single shelter or charity. The crisis is a community problem. And community problems must come with community solutions. So join our alliance and make a difference. Even if you are not wanting to adopt or foster, the more our alliance grows, the louder our voice is. And right now, dogs at risk across our country need our voices to be as loud as possible. Visit us now. Become informed. Stay engaged. Volunteer. Adopt. Foster. Support. I recently met with the children and family services coordinator who told me they take women and children and offer daycare to residents, in order to provide job training for interested women. There's an intake counter for people in need, look for the Welcome center building. The gospel rescue mission is always in need of volunteers to do various things. If you go to their website, you can apply to volunteer.
