Found this gem on Google reviews (Currently 4.8 stars off 306 reviews). It is a food stand that was close to our Airbnb in La Veleta. I normally don't go back to the same place twice on a vacation but this place was an exception. Customer service is amazing and the food is amazing with super cheap prices. The guy manning the stand speaks fluent English and answered all my questions without frustration. Prices are in pesos and cash only.
Pastor - $20
The stand has a mini fire with a mini pork tower that rotates, which he cuts off from each pastor order. Very fun to see and meat was very flavorful. Tacos were packed full.
Shrimp - $65
Says it has a coconut flavor but I personally didn't really get that flavor. Either way, $65 peso shrimp taco that was packed full of shrimp is worth it in my book.
Tripa - $30
My party loved this one. It's tripe mixed with other innards. If innards aren't your thing, I totally understand. However, the way Pepe does it, if you didn't already know what it was, it would have you totally fooled thinking it was regular meat.
Others (not beef and not sausage)
I forget what else we ordered but they were all good.
Res - $20
The beef taco was good and plentiful, however, it paled in comparison to the others we got.
Chistorra - $30
This was mini hot dog sausages in a taco. My mistake for not knowing what chistorra was. Still hot and plentiful, just not as good as the others.
Salsas - Compliementary
Lots of different types of salsas: Sweet tamarind, classic green and red, chili oil (similar to Chinese style), and another one I didn't try.
Great customer service, very cheap prices, tacos filled to the brim full of flavor, awesome salsa bar. Could easily charge $4-$6 per taco in the US depending where. read more
