We were served and seated quickly and offered a supplementary vegan or gluten free menu which I thought was very convenient. There was an excellent variety on the menus and I thought the prices were very worth it as the food and drink was delicious. The music and ambience was lovely. I think the lighting overall was a bit dim for lunchtime but I think it would be perfect for dinner or later in the afternoon. Definitely recommend!

The premise of this place is that they make 'molecular cocktails' - essentially cocktails that they have scientifically concocted so that all of the ingredients complement each other molecularly. For just £50 per person, you are treated to a 7-course cocktail menu. With each delicious cocktail you are brought a unique side dish that has been chosen specifically for that drink. We were given such unusual dishes (including slices of cured meats and filled pasta!) that oddly did enhance the taste of the cocktails. As well as the delicious cocktails, what this place also has going for it is the decor. It is very sleek, elegant and gothic. The service is also incredibly good as well. I would absolutely recommend going to this cocktail bar if you can. You would be stupid not to go here. It is absolutely worth visiting. I cannot wait to return.

The decor is nice in the front section there are several comfy sofas and chairs if you just want to come for a drink. Then there are lots of country tables and chairs very casual and homey. Some nice large and small ones. There's also a nice long bar to hang at. I had a strawberry rhubarb vodka cocktail and my husband had an elderberry gin cocktail. Both were delicious. Then we had breaded mushrooms with Aioli which was good. For dinner I had stalk, salad, and sweet potato fries. It was yummy everything was cooked very well. My husband had q Brazilian chicken dish with rice that was brat as well. For dessert we shared the chocolate mousse and Chardonnay. Both were very good and nice sized. The service was great - very attentive and top notch. Everything cost £50 which was very reasonable or the quantity and quality of everything. We will definitely be back for breakfast before we leave.

The batter on the fish was particularly light and crispy, the fish full of flavour and succulent, not dried-out as so often is the case. A cheese board to finish my meal with three interesting cheeses, a quince jelly and pressed fig cake was very tasty, no dull cheddar or red-liecester, but three engaging and palate-warming cheeses accompanied by light crackers. Others in the group enjoyed the salmon on risotto, fish cakes, pork belly and a classic roast beef with Yorkshire pud. Nobody had any complaints, we'd go back if we were in the area and if you're close by, would definitely recommend you search it out. The building which would normally double up as an inn / hotel is undergoing a large refurb and refit project, yet still remains lovely to look at and there was no disruption to our meal at all. (Maybe because it was a Sunday) Great place to visit.

The beef itself is tender and tasty. The patty is formed gently rather than being smashed together, so you get the full texture and flavor of the beef. This particular burger comes with local Hereford cheese, onion rings, a mustard/mayo, and served on a fresh brioche roll. Literally, it's mouth-watering! We also tried the fried cheese curds and the sticky wings and both side items were LIGHTS OUT! The chicken wings were slathered in a BBQ sauce and I'm not lying when I say they were legitimately fall-off-the-bone tender! The breading provided a perfect crisp, crunch on the bite and with one bite all of the meat came off the bone easily. The cheese curds were also incredible and a must! The only downside - I thought it was a little too expensive. It was a quality meal, I don't doubt that but worth so much? Probably only for a special occasion.

Everyone else really enjoyed their mains, which was a mix of roasts, duck salad and fish cakes. Sticky toffee pudding was excellent from all accounts. And the Espresso Martini I ordered for dessert was very nice. We all had a taste from the cheese board and I thought the cheeses supplied were excellent. While the building has probably been around for a while, the interior has been modernised to be bright and comfortable. The facilities were nice too. The staff were attentive, but yet gave us lots of space and were not intrusive at all. The outdoor seating was very pleasant in the hot sun that finally decided to return for an Indian summer. We spent a post dinner pint of cider here watching the long boats and ducks tootle by on the River Avon. The Boathouse Pub is definitely recommended.
