The main reason for giving this place a 5 star rating is that we got married here this year! It is…read morea fantastic venue which as well as offering full wedding packages, also runs as a restaurant (Jimmy Savile has been known to dine here). We had the wedding ceremony and reception here and the wonderful, friendly owners also arranged the flowers and the buffet for our guests. There really couldn't be a nicer venue, set in the dramatic Yorkshire Dales next to the remains of Barden Tower which make for a wonderful backdrop for photographs. The main room seats around 25 to 30 people and there is a separate bar as well. The food we had was excellent and when we visited at other times the place was packed out (especially for Sunday lunch). I could rave about this place all day I don't want to make the review too long. If you are looking for somewhere to eat with a lot of history, whilst exploring this lovely part of the British countryside, or if you are looking for a lovely secular wedding venue then I can't recommend this place highly enough!

The food was perfectly nice but be warned the portions are humongous so choose either starter or dessert if I was you!
