The George Inn is a very cozy gastro-pub in the countryside of Kent with a super helpful and friendly proprietor. Our group of friends stopped in for a late lunch and weren't disappointed. Beers on tap which are generously sampled before buying. Loved the dried hops hanging from the ceiling as well as the warmth from the fire. The bar was filled with jovial locals enjoying their afternoon pint. Homemade lasagna, curries, pies, steak and kidney suet pudding and other regional dishes. Stop in and enjoy yourself!

There is a reasonable ca park as it gets quite hard to park in the summer. I have visited for lunch and dinner and both were very nicely presented and well cooked. The skate is very tasty and the scampi and Jenga chips are good. The costs can be a little bit higher for lunch but the menu is very similar and therefore for dinner, I thought it was quite reasonable. Peter who used to be at another Billericay restaurant is the restaurant manager and as normal makes sure we get well looked after.

They do have adorable signs greeting the dogs and even offering their own dog menu. I do love the fact that they take photos of them and there is hundreds of photos on ceiling of all the dogs that have been inside the bar. A group of us came in for a beer and to just adore the adorable dogs. The staff is so sweet and friendly and I honestly wish I lived locally to come here more often.

Most of the ingredients are locally sourced and the portions are large.The last time I visited I had locally caught Whitstable fish wich was delicious.
