Chances are they won't be busy so the ticket is pointless anyway, you then take a seat and put your belongings in the little cupboard in front of the mirror. The Chinese lady who cut my hair was surprisingly friendly and attentive, we spent a few minutes discussing what I wanted done and then she was away! Cheapest and easiest haircut I've ever had :^)

He was super kind, and professional. I was charged $40 due to it being a Sunday. He said that because he was trying something different on me, if I didn't like it and wanted it a bit shorter, I could come back within 48 hours and get it cut again at no extra charge. I thought was a great policy, I didn't think I would need to use it but my sister wanted my hair shorter for the Summer so I went back the next day after work and saw another man called Gio. Gio did an awesome job, shaved my sides down and got it a lot shorter like my sister wanted, it looked awesome as well as the first haircut. Gio did 10/10 job on the second haircut, attention to detail was perfect. Even put some wax in my hair and a hot towel for my face. Definitely coming back here.

Comfortable hairdressing chairs to sit in, and for those of you having a wash, Ben's wash basin is super comfortable too, supporting your head well and keeping pressure off your neck, which can be uncomfortable. Ben is super friendly, and very knowledgeable in all things hair related. You can show him photos of what you'd like, or explain it to him, and he will read your hair "qualities" and tell you if he thinks it would look good on you. However, the friendly woman I spoke to was very knowledgable and able to explain clearly what type of blades I was looking for and offer suggestions as to where I might find them. Due to the lovely service, I'm delaying the purchase of replacement blades and instead considering buying a replacement handle so I can return. Bou's offer men's haircuts and shaves, but the range of shaving accessories is what attracted me. The barbershop itself is chic and definitely not intimidating for a woman stepping into a man's world.

Perfect haircuts. Every time. They give you a beautiful head massage with cuts, and if you get colour, also a hand massage. I have been coming here since I was a teen. Beautiful, clean, modern salon. Two levels, large mirrors, the lighting isn't that flattering but they need to see your hair colour properly. Never had a bad experience. The basins are fairly comfy for basins. I like the chairs they have at the mirrors - comfy. Though your butt can get numb if you're there for a colour and cut and have long hair but that's to be expected. With plenty of mags, and an assortment of beverages and biscuits. Now lets not tip toe around the mulberry bush - this is a very expensive salon. Haircuts start at $100 for women and $80 for men - and this is for a stylist. Yes, as you go up experience the price increases all the way to a master stylist at $140 for women and $120 for men. The only thing that does get my goat is when you pay over $100 for a a haircut and the hairdresser doesn't blow-dry or straighten/curl it, an apprentice does. They do a good job, but still. They use Adveda products that smell amazing. Soft product push - just tell them you have enough at home or a no thanks. The staff are mostly friendly, though some aloof and might I say stuck up. It additionally took RIDICULOUSLY long to get it done. I was waiting almost 5-6 hours for the whole thing I reckon. Then their Eftpos machine wasn't working with my card so they took down my details and proceeded to call me everyday to hassle me about the money like I was some sort of criminal? This Japanese hair salon is in the CBD and keeps their clients happy and their hairdressers relatively busy. I've now been there twice: each visit with a different hairdresser and have come out a happy camper. The second time around, I knew I could just pick up one of the magazines and point at it and let the stylist know what I was looking for. Taka, who is a manager stylist and unfortunately has moved up to Brisbane, takes great care when snipping away. You're definitely safer off with a manager stylist, which is worth the extra cost as the prices there are rather wallet-friendly. Customer service there is fantastic! It probably has a lot to do with the (Japanese) culture but from the point of entering ("Konichiwa!!") until when they see you off at the door, they're there mindfully doing their job well. Also, they've got promos like "happy hour" where it's 20% off M-F before noon and others that are released through their newsletters, as well as others like friend referrals. I highly recommend Aria salon if you're looking to get a good haircut, at great value, and fabulous service!
