I chose her to be my hairdresser as we connected immediately and she was well able to give me the latest British styles I loved and wanted. Twenty one years later, she is still my hairdresser and over the years she has met my requests valiantly, from shag cuts to bobs to razor cuts, complete shaves, streaks, wacky colours etc. I'm delighted to write a review about Denise @ Hair Etc. She has stood the test of time, kept many of her customers and tons of good will.

I recommend this salon for any special event! I had my wedding recently and made an appointment…read moreupon recommendation from my Maid of Honour. We ran into a snafu with my extensions (definitely not on the stylist btw), so the stylist improvised on my look...which turned out a million times better than the photo I brought in! We did use some of the extensions and everything looked incredible! The hair held up all night, including dancing and afterward a dip in my hot tub (for my poor aching legs). My MOH came here and had such a cute updo as well! Also my Mom who ran late and missed her appointment at another salon, got a blowout appointment there too, which looked amazing and they were really angels for getting her done so fast!

I went to their University Plaza location. Skip it. I just paid about $120 for a partial highlight…read moreand haircut that is absolutely the worst I have ever gotten. The sides are uneven. The layering is horrible. The stylist cut off big hunks instead of doing it properly. And, one side is literally longer than the other with straggly bits hanging down at weird places. The highlighting is equally sloppy. It looks terrible. Unfortunately the stylist chopped the top layer really short as well and thinned the bottom so much it looks like I can't grow my hair long because it is so thin and scraggly. It will be difficult to get someone to reshape it because there's not a lot left to work with. Skip it. Save your money. I've gotten better haircuts at $12 hair places.

I usually go to a barber shop around the corner from this place that charges a $13 flat rate for a…read morecut. A cut here ends up $19.15 and is exponentially worse. I used to get my hair cut here when I was in the air cadets, and it was always much shorter than I asked, so I switched. Today the barber shop was closed so I took a chance, which was a mistake. What I asked for would have been the longest my hair would have been after a hair cut, instead it was the shortest since I was in the air cadets. I asked for an inch off the top, she took at least 2 off from the bangs and more towards the back. If you want the hairdresser to follow your instructions go elsewhere, if you want them to ignore you and do what they want, go here.

There is also a much shorter, uneven section in the middle of my hair. I kept showing her picture because she was doing some other hairdo. Yes I have lots hair but it's thin that's why wanted it curled and fullness on top my head. When she was done somehow she kept most hair down and braids on top wher very thin and not nice looking. I told to take it out try again in nicer words. Again I showed her the picture she again left my hair down. I didn't have time as I was going to a wedding I told her it's ok. I didn't have time to argue about my hair style. I just paid for it and a tip. As I don't like confrontation I basically ran home and took my hair down did it myself 110 dollars for a trim basically she didn't even have wash and dry.
