Excellent doctor. Excellent staff. Made me feel heard and seen. Would highly recommend Dr. Ashford to those seeking endometrial ablation.

I understood that arriving early didn't mean I would be seen before my appointment time, so that wasn't my concern. After filling out my paperwork twice, my information was still entered incorrectly into the system, which was frustrating. Found out during prenatal testing, thank you lab nurses. After providing a urine sample, I was taken back by the medical assistant, who repeatedly referred to me as being in my first trimester when I was actually in my second trimester. Stated I was 14 weeks, just found out the baby is measuring 17 weeks... I then met with the nurse practitioner, who asked if I had any questions. I had to ask whether I would be able to see my baby or hear the heartbeat because it was never mentioned. The medical assistant brought in a Doppler and explained that because I was "in my first trimester," they might not be able to find the heartbeat. Again, this was incorrect. An ultrasound would have shown measurements and provided reassurance that everything was progressing normally. After the failed Doppler attempt, I had my routine prenatal blood work completed. That was the extent of my visit. No ultrasound was performed, no genetic screening options were discussed, and I never met the OB. I understand physicians have busy schedules, and I wasn't upset that I didn't see the doctor. What was upsetting was leaving my very first prenatal appointment without seeing my baby, hearing a heartbeat, or receiving reassurance after an extremely difficult first trimester. As a first-time prenatal patient, I expected a more thorough and reassuring experience. Instead, I left feeling discouraged and disappointed. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to decide not to return.

I was turned away from being seen when I was on time they stated I needed to arrive 30min prior to my appointment for a new patient. Never received a reminder text or call this appointment was booked Months ago how was I suppose to know that. Not only that when asked if she could see if they will still see me she rolled her eyes and said NO your late. Very unprofessional why not schedule the person at 10:00 vs 10:30 and state come 30 mins early to sign papers. I will take my BCBS somewhere else. Overall rating a 0 DONT GO TO THIS PLACE.. Be aware that they do not offer adequate pain management for IUD insertion and removal…read more Recently they added the option to pay full-price for an oxygen-nitrous blend that you can huff during the procedure but it is an expensive distraction that is dependent on your ability to keep up with consistent deep breathing. It does not eliminate nor mask the pain, it just puts you in the clouds with the pain coursing through you, and if you stop huffing then you almost immediately come-to. I have been to practices elsewhere (other states I have liven in) where they give you cervical softening/numbing options (shot and/or suppository), hand you high-dose ibuprofen to take, use numbing cream, etc. None of this was offered except a generic ibuprofen recommendation was suggested, if I wanted to go buy some at the store, to help with the post-procedure cramping... If you're fine with that then go for it, their bedside manner is great and they were very sweet and kind, it's just the practice itself that doesn't prioritize pain management during these procedures. Additionally, the installation of an IUD requires a follow-up to verify placement and every time I have gotten a follow-up, the appointment included an ultrasound to verify placement. This practice ran this ultrasound through my insurance as an optional additional radiology instead of as part of the preventative care and I had to pay $600 for the follow-up. The billing department never answered the phone nor called me back to address the codes used when billing my insurance, and I will make it clear that I was not given an option to do this ultrasound but rather I was told it was being done as SOP for the IUD placement.
