Once we finally started working on our own pieces, it felt overcrowded. There were too many people, so not everyone was able to get the help or guidance they needed. The class also felt very rushed. Getting our pieces back took longer than expected, and unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the results. The glaze looked terrible -- the color was inconsistent and uneven. At first, I thought it was just my piece, but everyone in our group had the same issue. My child has done pottery at school before, and their pieces came out beautifully, so I know better results are possible. Overall, it felt like a waste of time in terms of the class itself, but I still enjoyed spending time with my friends.

There's still plenty of room for creativity and adding your own personal touch, which I always do. The artists that guide you through the painting are also very helpful and friendly and go through everything step by step. It's just an overall great time and fun to see how different everyone's paintings turn out. This place is great for birthday parties, kids parties, bachelorette parties, team building events for companies, date night, or just any night of the week! When I was removing the tape that we were told to put on to protect the mouth of the glass so you can drink. It pulled off the acrylic. I tried to soak just the top of in water only water the paint started to come off. Also, the person that I was with used purple on her cup it was very vibrant and beautiful when we left it. When we picked it up, the colors were so much darker than the paint that we put on and we were never told that. The glass was just dark and it mixed into something else. See pictures. I would return to do a paint class or something of that nature but just the acrylic pour left a lot to be desired.

They end up in the laundry room, garage or trash), you are given the freedom to create your own design with the tools and instruction to create. Our group had so much fun and each have a unique, funky piece of art to take home. This space is full of 90's memorabilia (flash back to this 44 year old's childhood). The owner is super friendly, accommodating, and supportive. We will definitely be back! Note- be prepared for unavoidable paint fumes.

The facility is a school with dwindling enrollment so the students are in wing B and the art/folk art center is in Wing A. Excellent repurposing of an essentially vacant building. There is a studio where heritage barn quilts are painted and produced for inclusion in the Upstate Heritage Quilt Trail. There are looms which were donated by Clemson U. There are Bernina sewing machines which were donated by the school district when it annihilated Family and Consumer Science curriculum in the schools. BOO! HISS! for doing away with an essential curriculum for training in basic life skills! YAY!RAH! for the generosity of the short sighted school district for repurposing the sewing machines for the community good! These items are located in separate classrooms dedicated to the particular art/craft conducted in that room. There is a Gallery full of unique consignment items for sale. There are heirloom quilts on display throughout the wing and some especially significant heirloom quilts housed in a glass case for protection. This place is SO inviting and invigorating.

The teachers are kind and loving, with just enough discipline to keep things orderly. For working parents, its important to note that Haynsworth is almost always open. Except for one week at the end of the summer, there are childcare options all year round, including "summer camp" sessions during the summer. "Bank Holidays" like presidents day usually have coverage as well. This school is not "fancy" and its not "new", but it's clean and tidy. We love the older buildings and the warmth that they bring. Mostly, we just love the teachers and how they exemplify the values that we want instilled in our child - kindness, love, hard work, good manners, and more. Can't say enough good things!
