The Alien Zone/Area 51 is peak tourist attraction and I LOVE IT. Just a hop, skip, and jump down the street from the UFO Museum, this is where you should go if you want cheesy touristy-ness. Half of it is just a souvenir shop, with a few more(and different) t-shirt options then the rest of the places that seem to have all the same stuff. There is a small play area for kids (as I am not of child height I am unsure if this was free, and the cleanliness/safety level of it). In the back of the store area is a small cafe set up, where there are a few booths set up for photos. But the best thing about this place, is the door labeled Area 51, is just a few bucks to get in. It's a dark room with different scenes set up with cheesy aliens to take pictures and pose with. An alien bartender, an exam table, a spaceship, aliens coming out of the ceiling, aliens having a barbecue, a black light miniature city, and other stuff that really has no rhyme or reason. Pieces have been climbed on and in, played with, and in all honesty could use some love. But you get to be goofy and weird and have a good time. read more

Got the Yelp deal before coming in and wish I had not done that.The store had a lot of emtry shelves and merchandise from the July 4th convention , the owners mood could have been better, she said she was a one man show but it shouldn't take 5 weeks to restock a store. The area 51 extra admission was ok but hot and muggy, It is just for pictures, it was so so, the younger set was be amused. Over all was not what I was hoping for. Go to Walmart and get better quality t shirts for half the price of its shirts you are looking for. read more

Has a lot of potential but definitely a weird place! The shop clerk wasn't even in the front for about 5 minutes and then walked past us and didn't say hello, we were so confused! We paid for the entry, is super cheap $2 for adults and we went into the back, definitely has potential but was super dusty. Did NOT let the children play in the playground or touch anything and signs to do this or that were everywhere... do it if you want a funny photo but have very very low standards. read more

AMAZING PICTURES WITHOUT THE NEED FOR PHOTOSHOP?!?! That is exactly what you get for a small fee of $3.00 and pictures that will have your friends talking for days. I traveled into Roswell, NM, in search of anything and everything regarding Aliens. I was greeted by the very helpful store owner who answered all my questions to the best of her ability. I entered the "Zone" with a giddy smile and childlike attitude. Alas, Aliens galore! I posed for a barbq photo op with aliens, placed my head on an aliens lap while lying on a sofa, jumped inside of a spaceship, laid on an operating table and even sat with an E.T. bartender to name a few. Once I captured of all the pictures to my hearts content, I left overly satisfied with what I had just experienced. If you are expecting rollercoaster's and thrills this is not the place for you. Roswell was probably a one time deal for me, but I highly recommend this tiny spec on the map to anyone passing through... It was totally worth it. read more

Wow, what a place to visit in Roswell. If you are looking for some alien stuff in Roswell then this is the place to go. They have a section called Area 51 that is fantastic. The kids really enjoyed every second in Area 51 and you also get a bonus with a "Bouncy House" for the price of the Area 51 admission. Another bonus is that the gentleman that runs this business is friendly and cares about the Roswell area. If you are in Roswell then you must go to The Alien Zone! read more

For photography laughs, this is the place to go. There are bunches of hands-on props where you can take pictures with aliens in various settings. The front of the store is a gift shop, and in the back is Area 51, which costs $3 a person - and is worth it for the cheesy fun. Kids & adults will equally enjoy. My kids visited The Alien Zone about a year ago and not only had a blast, but took the funniest photos. They were excited to go back over Thanksgiving and bring some others with us. We were so disappointed! Several of the displays were dark rather than lit up. Many of the props were missing. The whole experience felt run down and disappointing compared to what it was a year ago. read more

You know, those photo you are going to upload to FB or Instagram to say you've been to Roswell..The price of admission is very cheap as it should be for this type of display. We were under whelmed by the experience. As far as Roswell went, this is the place to go. You can take fun pictures with the aliens to send home. So, go for that reason... But man is it old and dirty. I mean taking photos with the aliens was fun, but the longer we were there the itchier we got. I was happy to leave and wash my hands. This place is filthy. I wouldn't even use my hand to open the door. I used my foot. However, we still had fun taking photos. If you go take Lysol. All the places to take interactive pictures are covered in dust, grease and grime. There are holes in the wall from mice and it looks like one mouse ate an alien's foot off! This place works much better than the UFO museum at delivery precisely what Roswell needs: campy, not-too-serious, alien-tastic fun. If you're not a UFO fan, it may not be a 5 star but my gal friend loved it. It is SERIOUSLY hilarious to see the photos from this place. You get to pose with aliens. 3$. That is how low the rent is in this low-rent extravaganza. Basically it is a cheap gift shop attached to a gallery of anthropomorphized aliens in random Americana-based walk-in dioramas where you can take pictures with them. It's awesome and cheesy. By yourself it would be tragic. In A group it is hilariously fun. read more

This place was pretty run down and dusty--a lot of the lights didn't work on the exhibits. I would not come here again. That being said, I gave it 3 stars rather than 2 because the kids did have a few laughs here and we all had some silly fun. Just don't expect a lot. read more

I have lived here off and on since '95 and have visited this shop/the back area with the alien set up's a *number* of times with various family members and I *still* enjoy EVERY bit of it and I live here(which says something, probably craziness but meh, haha)...Very nice people(who since I'm in a wheelchair and normal entrance is too small), let me go through the doors that lead right to that back area, so kudos to the owners for that!I've never had a problem there, always friendly people who will go that extra mile to help me when I need and who do cherish their business and the people who come through it- They especially cherish(and should), the back area where there's a number of set up's with alien scenes that you can take pics of/with =) I to this day will every once in a while visit this place just for that reason and have a blast each and every time...I encourage people who love cheesy fun and don't mind that some of the scenes do look like they need brightened/painted up(I don't mind, heck it's probably intended that way since the crash happened long ago), this IS the place to go...3 bucks a person, you can't beat that(you'll pay 5 bucks just to get into the ufo museum and it's all display/reading stuff) read more

What appears to be just another gift store, has a whole other fun zone in the back. Pay $3 and take some fun pictures with the aliens. Our 21 yr old had as much fun as our 9 yr old. Unless you're a history buff, don't waste your money at the UFO Museum. read more
