We were super hungry on a Sunday and our favorite sandwich place just down the street from Alexandra was closed. So we headed into the Alexandra for some grub. Of course, I had to have a pint while I was there, b/c it is, after all, a British pub. When we walked in, the woman working there was pleasant enough and told us to have a seat in the eating area (off to the left from the main entrance). I ordered the lamb roast (per the suggestion of the waitress), and my friend got some soup. The food was as expected - fairly bland and over-salted. The soup was particular over-salted. The beer was decent enough, and the service quite lovely. Overall it was pretty much as expected, and not a place that I would venture off to given the chance. But if it's Sunday and you need some grub and a pint - by all means, make the stop. Prices are mostly reasonable - though I'd never pay that much for that type of food in the States. It's definitely got early-bird special written all over it if it were served in the US - if you catch my drift. read more
