Rented thru VRBO. All fees included in price. BUT NO. they now tell us that we have to pay additional $40 a day resort fee and $30 day for a car on site. Non of this was stated on VRBO as VRBO states that all fees r included. Then front desk says we have to pay additional fee to get the coffee maker fixed and to change out our towels n get extra pillows. Not worth what they charged! This property is pretty much exactly what you would guess. The hotel needs major renovations. It is very old, definitely past its prime. The online pictures were a little misleading From other reviews it seems they are in continuous renovation, so wait until "renovation" is completed before booking this property but comments of renovations goes back to 2019... We booked the room using AirBnb. It was generally old and dated, the pictures are fair. The kitchen had less than necessary, so we reached out to Vacassa and after 3 days of following up with them we gave up and we bought a baking sheet, why do you have an oven and you don't have even a baking sheet... Pool area is filled with garbage and people bringing in food and drinks from the outside, and the worst part the next day all the garbage is there... The upper level swimming pool is under construction, probably for the last 2 years based on other comments The hot tub is another thing, the excessive chlorine caused us itchy, red skin and a reaction in our genitals, it felt like a burn. My 10-year-old daughter was crying all morning, and even when she took more than 4 showers this didn't go away. She even cried this morning at the sea when her skin hurt again when it got wet. On top of that our swimsuits got ruined, some of them were brand new. Nobody at the Alexander hotel reception seems to care about this, nor at the security office. What if something serious happened, who would have helped.......Do yourself a favor, find a better place. They charge you extra for the hotel amenities and Common areas are run down and dirty bad smells in many places. There were no restaurants or stores within close walking distance. The free trolley stop was right in front of the hotel. We couldn't have a late check out because the apartment was reserved, but the hotel let us use the pool area and kept our bags until we left. Those were the only good things. I did not want to write such a negative response and attempted to communicate with hotel management numerous times while at the hotel and after leaving. Nobody seems to care. I will give you 2 starts because is in front of the beach, but definitely not coming back EVER. read more

Where do I start? The hidden $250 deposit that is sprung on you during check in? The front desk "reception" staff that make you long for the DMV or post office? The outrageous $30 per night parking explained to you by well meaning people that have difficulty with basic English language? That was the first ten minutes of being "welcomed" here. Hotel Impossible would need an entire season to work on this mess! We stopped in the "convenience" store in order to buy overpriced groceries and my wife was told that there was no coffee ready and that she should ask for napkins before taking them from the coffee stand...this was after paying $10 for a bottle of soda and a can of Pringle's! Fully aware that construction was ongoing but we stayed in a room that still had grout glazed over the bathrooms that I had to wipe clean to finish the job myself...your welcome Alexander! The only person with any sense of customer service with the security guard, who was pleasant and very helpful. He should be named GM immediately. The complete lack of hospitality in this $$$ hotel will eventually lead to its collapse so please, do yourself a giant favor and stay far far away! read more

The front desk staff are rude and not knowledgeable on their own policies. They charge a $250 deposit and nowhere in the paperwork does it state there is a deposit. Upon checkout they tell me the hold will return to my card after 7-10 business days. The hotel is "under renovation" but it looks like their common areas (pool) is the only place getting a makeover. The rooms are unbelievably dated. The kitchen doesn't have a full dish set. Overall, complete disappointment. read more

Worst hotel. We knew they were going to be under partial renovation so we knew some rooms weren't going to be completely done (no access to balconies) but this was way beyond that . We had a large group with several condos . EVERY condo had issues, they were very pretty but 1 had 3 tv's none of them hooked up to cable so we couldn't watch anything. Our friends condo had no air conditioning nor hot water for showers. Maintenance come when called but literally walked around the room scratching his head for almost 40 min. Still no TV. Closet had empty paint cans in it and tools on the bathroom floor. Although the decor and fixtures were very nice I have stayed at super 8's that were 1/8 the price and were more functional. Horrible experience! The website exaggerates this hotel. The rooms are filthy!!!! There are stains all over the furniture, the view sucks, no restaurant, you have to pay an outrageous amount for parking!!!! Never stay at this hotel!!! The photos are photoshopped!!!! This is disgusting! Then they showed me another room only to walk in on people having sex!! Disgusting!!! Never go to this hotel!!! read more
