having used the Ace Centre as a customer and as a performer; as well as having used the recording studio. I can verify that we have here a state of the art facility which would do justice to any City in the UK, but which is totally wasted. Whilst I can't speak highly enough of the facility itself, the combination of the location (a run down town that they forgot to close down), the people (check the demographics out. Immigrant/ethnic minority/unemployed etc etc) AND the Council (small minded, no high level aspiration) means that when this facility closes down - and it will due to underuse - it will be snapped up by one of the ethnic groups for use by their own section of the community. Call me cynical, but I wonder if that was the intention? The answer? For all communities to use the facility regularly, for the management (Pendle Council take note) to expand the usage as much as possible, and for the profile of the Ace Centre to become more than just a website operated by a small Council. read more
