I've lived here from January of 2023 to December of 2023. Below is a list of pros and cons from own personal experience living there. Cons: No Hot Water: Throughout the time I've been living here, my tub has NEVER produced Hot Water. I put in a work order earlier this year, MAINTENANCE TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS FIXED! they just said I had to run the water for 10-20 minutes to warm up. When you have to get going to work, there's no time to do that. So the water has been lukewarm mostly. I found out the water never turned Hot because I ran the tub water for 30 minutes to an hour and it never turned Hot. So I made numerous complaints which made maintenance them investigate this matter themselves, one of the guys tested the water in the sink another tested it in the tub. The tub water NEVER turned Hot. I've also spoke to some of the other residents from the other floors, they also said that there's been issues with their Boiler for over a year. There have been multiple emails sent out for Water shutdowns within the complex. Maintenance also informed to me if you live in the Fourth floor, you're the last to receive any warm water. No Grocery Store Nearby - There are restaurants in the Fremont Street Experience area which are expensive and a few convenient stores but no grocery store such as a Albertsons, Smith's, Walmart, etc. No essential apartment components - No full size refrigerator, no medicine cabinet, no oven. The tub is very small and the toilet is next to the front door. Life is Beautiful Festival Inconvenience: At the end of September every year, the Life is Beautiful Festival is held Downtown in which the Fremont East areas is sanctioned and which shuts down streets and bus stops nearby which makes very inconvenient to travel. You have to ride a shuttle just to get home. There's also no parking available during this time because the entire complex is boarded up. Homelessness in the area: There are a lot of people who are homeless who loiter around outside of the complex who often sneak in and sleep in the stairwells. I've had to call security multiple times for this. Very Slow Elevator: the elevator operates very slow which was very annoying. Laundry Room Issues: Everytime I go to the laundry room, there's one extra machine that doesn't work. Fire Alarms Going Off Often: the fire alarms are very loud, going off all of the time, so be prepared to be woken up in the middle of the night multiple times a week. Pros: Utilities are included: Energy, Water, Sewage, Trash, Cable, Internet, and Laundry machines are all included in your rent. Convenient Bus Travel: The Bonneville Transit Center is only 15 minutes away walking distance and most of the bus routes travel through the Downtown area. read more

We communicated with a representative named Denise Moreno. Initially we thought that the process was going smoothly. But, at the end we were very disappointed at how the initial quote was not upheld. Fees were tacked onto the monthly. Even though there was a column on the quote that reads "Total Monthly Charge," they asked for an additional premium. This is very disappointing. Also, communicating strictly via email is not always the best way. In the future, a phone call would be appreciated. The time it takes to search for an apartment, along with administrative and application fees add up quickly. This place needs to respect people's time. read more

Second time this week the fire alarm has gone off after midnight. Sitting outside with everyone else currently in the sub 40 degree weather. Nice. Sixth time the fire alarm has gone off since I moved here in October. It's December. Like how have you not solved this issue it's actually mind-blowing. I arrived at 4:30pm to inquire about renting an apartment. No one was in the office. No sign stating hours of operation. Two ladies in an adjacent office told me that someone would be right there. I waited 30 minutes and a guy walks right by me as if he was just another resident. went into the office and ignored my existence. Turns out said guy is the one who does future resident tours. I asked him for information about renting there and he tells me that they're closed and they don't do residency tours after 4:30 but to come back the next day at 8am. No thanks. Now the two ladies in the back told me they had told him I was there waiting for him. But he ignored me and blew me--off, a potential renter. Yeah judging from the parking on the outside which is a two hour time limit on city streets and poor customer service this place is a crap hole with crap employees. I will not be renting from this place. read more

I am loving this apartment building. Everyone has really chill vibes. The front desk never bugs you. They actually bring nothing but smiles to the table. It's also a huge blessing to live so close to downtown because I get to enjoy the energy from my window :) Parking is not bad at all and the view from my apartment is impeccable. This property charges way too much for what they offer. I was hoping for a cheaper renewal offer, but they raised the rates. There are too many homeless and substance abusers that you don't feel safe. The rooms are too small. I would recommend putting a blinking light for the cross walk because no cars on that road want to stop for pedestrians. I saw a few car accidents as well. The intersection isn't safe. I would recommend the place if the rent was like $650-750, but rent is pushing close to $1,000 now for new tenants. read more

DONT MOVE HERE!! First I have an abusive ex with a restraining order harass me and threatened me that he'd come beat me up in my own home, I filed a police report and put a restraining order, I asked to get out of my lease for my safety! And they refused! They said only military? Couple days ago I found bed bugs in my unit, most likely from hitch hikers, I asked the front desk if ANY unit had complained about bed bugs and they said no, yet I found a mattress and bed frame outside in the dumpster infested with bed bugs. Guess that's where the hitch hikers came from! Thanks for lying. After I had an inspection done for the bed bugs their bug people LEFT MY UNIT UNLOCKED! No apology was even tried to be given just keep saying usually they do lock up! Okay yeah usually they do! And I'm telling you they didn't! At least have them apologize or apologize for your employees! What if someone stole something???? Also homeless love to hangout in the lobby and backyard and sleep in the hammocks. All paid parking isn't supervised by any cameras! I have someone Fuck up my car while I was asleep in my unit and asked for camera footage and they said they don't have any cameras. read more

This is my first Review on Yelp as I've never felt the initiative to be critical because I'm just one dude; However, moving into this Apartment Building was an absolute treasure and I feel that I must share my experience for the next dude that considers this place: Not only because I enjoy the minimalistic aspect, or the altruistic community, but the staff kicks butt when it comes to exceptional customer service!! Moving into a new gig can be incredibly stressful for someone like me for I must be certain the spot is THE spot, and I will do absolutely anything to ensure my comfort in investing towards a living situation. Carlos is vastly knowledgeable of 211, down to the pigments of the paint on the wall. He was kindly honest and informative, answered a loading truck of questions in person, and through email, saw us in distress and gave an array of options to handle our circumstance. I cannot stress his patience enough he must train in Tai Chi after hours.... Carlos truly established the decision for us, as his kindness and efforts alone drove us to wanting the place mountains more. Denise also helped easing my insanity a greeaaat amount. They both were very lenient to our constant changes, and worked around our complexity. Thank you two again for all you've done for us during this leasing process!!!! I've been living here for nearly a month now and it's pure rock n roll. The apartment promotes a healthy lifestyle where time is valuable and the space you inhabit must only possess the necessities as it is quite small. It is truly showing me what I consider significant in life. The building holds community events, the community itself is so genuine and welcoming, everyone seems to be an advocate of pursuing the Arts, I well believe the Jacuzzi could certify World Peace, and there is an abundance of friendly dogs. I'm not sure if I'm in heaven but it's damn near. If you're considering moving here, stop considering. Just do it. :-) read more

I lived here for 3.5 years. Too long. The people at the front office aside from Carlos are judgemental and not the nicest. The rents are rising and are not worth the cost anymore. The spaces are too small to be paying almost $1000 a month. Wifi is not the best. Some of the other residents have questionable behavior. Fire alarms go off frequently. I could see living there as you get settled into Vegas/a new job but not long term. read more

This place is still a dump. I saw a hooker giving a homeless man a crackpipe and he threw it at a stray cat in the back alley. Fire alarms still go off randomly at night when I'm trying to sleep or beat my meat lol. I cant even have a peaceful time with Manuela. I've been a resident here now for about 6 months. This place isn't for everyone. It's a micro-living lifestyle complex. If you have family and kids...most likely not for you. I'm always out and about and rarely am I home. It's perfect for me. It's easy to maintain. Utilities are included , its in the heart of downtown, bars and restaurants are walking/stumbling distance, and there is a beautiful courtyard to lounge with friends around a fireplace if you want to hang with some friends. It's not the prettiest of places, but there aren't any bugs crawling around either. There's one thing I absolutely love about this place. THE STAFF! Ray, she works the front office. Probably the sweetest girl you will ever meet in your entire life with a smile that brightens even your darkest of days. She has been more than just a front desk person. When I needed help a few times she has done more than what is expected of a traditional front office employee. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the help that she has given me. I look forward everyday to her "good morning" and have a "good day." Veronica is also helpful. The maintenance guys are always willing to help and they even let me borrow a screwdriver or 2. I give 4 stars just Bc the building alarms were an issue, but it looks like they have gotten things under control now. read more

I've seen horrible reviews from other residents but I personally haven't experienced them for the past months. The first time I moved here I was in the 4th floor where I had a hard time resolving the issue with the AC. I wasn't able to make a follow up after that since I was traveling a lot. But despite that fact, the staff is always helpful since they hired new people for the past 2 years. I moved back here to stay for longer term. I've never had bed bug problems or even roaches. AC this time works properly but the disposer has been a problem. I was able to handle that by keeping it covered no worries. Let me tell you that most of the problems that arise here are usually caused by irresponsible residents. The frequent fire alarms were due to residents opening their doors to the hallway rather than their windows to put out the smoke. I always hear smoke detectors coming off multiple times a day because of marijuana and toaster oven(?) use. I had to buy an air filter because the smell sometimes get inside my unit. Dog-owners just let their pets poop around the block and don't even bother to pick them up. I am not aware if some of them were caught but I suspect that these owners walk their dogs early in the morning. Some of them even let their dogs pee in the elevators, stairs, etc. It's unbelievable that these people seem professionals yet irresponsible they were able to pass the background checks. I'd still recommend The 211 because it's near almost every establishments. As a frugal minimalist working from home, staying here saved me a lot of money. read more

They cut all of the trees out of the back courtyard in the middle of summer and are more concerned with people who mind their own business, than the homeless people hanging out in front of the building entrance. They resolve conflict between neighbors on a "trust" based system (lol) so much logic missing here. If you work from home or are an entrepreneur, make better use of your money and keep searching. If you just need a place to isolate and sleep this is your spot! read more

As someone who's into the minimal lifestyle and the DTLV scene, The 211 was the optimal place for me to go to. At first, the thought of living in a 170 sq. ft micro-studio turned me off, but it was actually a bit more spacious than I imagined it would be. Many friends of mine comment about how it feels like a dorm and I can understand why. Fitting 315 units into a block with only 4 stories can definitely make it seem that way, but the community feel is also what makes The 211 special! Utilities are all included, which include: electricity, gas, water, basic cable, & internet. (I feel like I'm forgetting one??) Laundry facilities are also included, and it's free to use! Paying rent online also makes it convenient for me, especially since I tend to travel often. Sales agent Nick always gives off a friendly vibe and constantly interacts with the tenants to make sure things are well on their end. There are events for the tenants to get together every once in a while, which also means free food haha! The main downside is that there is barely any parking specifically for the tenants; however, I've heard that hopefully a parking garage will be popping up in the future! read more

I've lived in The 211 for over a month now and I'm very happy here! The rooms are small but the community space and its proximity to Freemont balances it all out. I love the downtown community (food, coffee, grocery and bars) and the people here are great. Nick and the 211 staff are always available should you need them! I was able to move in quickly (I recommend the unfurnished option, but they do have furnished rooms available should you want that!) and all utilities are included. Plus free laundry. :) read more

I've lived in apartments and rental homes for the last seven years and I've never encountered anything as frustrating as The 211. The leasing agent who helped me move in expertly smoothed over all the substandard conditions I'd be subjected to, tricking me into submitting a year of my life to bulls***. About a week after I moved in he left and his absence was all they could use to justify all the discrepancies with my accommodations. A former employee raised her voice at me when I attempted to resolve one of these discrepancies in a completely calm and polite manner. She was fired a week later. My interactions with the staff have proven to be continuously unpleasant and unprofessional time and time again. When I moved in I was warned of some "light renovations" happening on the third floor- those turned into full out construction which came with noise, dust, mess and debris, screws in the parking lot around cars and the water being shut off continuously for many of the months I lived there. Multiple days per week we would be without running water with little notice. If there was water, the washing machines are free, but 75% of them are broken 90% of the time. Maintenance requests are blatantly ignored. My TV hasn't worked properly for months and I gave up asking them to replace it, as they had promised. Residents asked for the ancient front door code to be changed for months out of fear for our safety (vagrants wandering through the building, theft) and we were told they were working on it. Then, someone stole the big-screen TV in the common area and the door codes were magically changed a couple days later. Evidently, a TV was more important to them than our safety. There is a security number you can call, but many people have called to no avail; no personnel shows up. I called one night for assistance when the gate to the parking lot stopped working due to a power outage. Nobody came and my car was stuck in the lot until the next morning. We are given the option to pay an extra $40-50 a month for a "reserved" parking spot with the promise that if anyone else parks in it they will be towed. Instead, if someone parks in your spot you are given the run around by the tow company and are basically out of luck, much like the dozens of people who have had their vehicles broken into and bikes stolen. On top of that, more than several times the front desk called me and woke me up to ask me to move from my parking spot, the spot THAT I PAY THEM TO HAVE, so that they could use it for maintenance vehicles or the construction dumpsters for days at a time. The 211 does not care how they inconvenience you. Lastly, and perhaps one of the biggest issues, in the year I've lived here the fire alarms have been continuously worked on to fix their oversensitivity but they still just haven't quite figured it out. They'll go off screeching at any time of day or night interrupting your sleep, sex, shower time or anything else sacred, leaving you standing in the cold in the courtyard in a robe in front of 200 people at 1am on a weeknight. This used to happen multiple days/nights in a row. Nowadays, they go off about once a week. I understand that some things are beyond control of management (although I think an on-site security guard would really, really help), but be warned to not bother putting out a welcome mat or a wreath on your door or leaving anything you value in the least in plain sight. It will be stolen instantaneously. The community fridges and kitchen are basically unusable because of this, and because of the general mess left around (beer bottles, old food, dog poop in the courtyard). Packages and even food deliveries have been intercepted and stolen. Literally, if you left cat crap on a platter in the hallway someone would steal it. Some of the residents are cool and make an attempt at establishing community, but it's totally clobbered by the gross mismanagement of this place. As to be expected, I grew pretty tired of all of this and tension between myself and management was pretty high. 11 days before my lease was up, I received a phone call at 4:10am on a Sunday from an office in this building. The next day, my front door code was deactivated so that I couldn't get into the building. I moved all of my stuff overnight and turned in my keys the next day. You can do your own research into the legality of these actions. Please believe me when I say that the appeal of living in the heart of downtown can only numb the agonizing frustration this place incites for so long. The 211 took a bunch of low-rent, cracker-box studio apartments built on a probably cursed piece of land (the first hospital in Las Vegas stood here, look it up!) and dressed them up as "trendy micro-living" for all the downtown hipsters to eat up. Sadly, I fell for it. Learn from my mistakes, do not rent here. read more

I absolutely love living here! From the moment I first inquired about the apartments, I knew I would love it here! Reynessa and Denise are so friendly and helpful! Sometimes I go to the front desk just to chat with them.... The apartments are quiet and well kept. The laundry room and kitchen are always clean. It's in a great location!... I read on here about the fire alarms going off at night. I've been here 2 months and it hasn't happened once. & The security guard keeps out any intruders! The 211 is a great place to live especially for the price. I lived there for a year and initially it was not always pleasant. I moved in during the renovation process and management was most times tense and sometimes rude. New management took over in December and it was like a breath of fresh air! The new management is awesome. Nick and Veronica are always smiling, pleasant, and have great follow up skills. The only reason that I left was that I needed more space. Price, location, and customer service were what was most important to me at the time. I received them all. I would recommend the 211. read more

This is probably the best place to start if you're new to Vegas. There's a welcoming community that you can jump right into, everything is included so you don't have to figure out what gas/electric/cable company to get quite yet, and it's cheap while you look for a job or what have you. It's also right next to all the best stuff in downtown Vegas and you can walk right into festivals and celebrations every night if you want, then walk right home. Actually, it's a good way to get all the Vegas partying out of your system at once. As far as safety goes, everyone has different tolerance levels. If you've lived in cities before, this isn't going to seem dangerous to you. I'm from Boston and I've always kept my door locked even if I'm walking five feet away, and I've never had a problem, if that gives you an idea. There's some things to consider before moving here though... First, a LOT of people live here. Some are crazy, or thieves, or beggars, or slobs, etc. Most are alright. You really should only move here if you like to be around people though, cause it gets noisy and crazy and it's better if you enjoy that. Second, there's a LOT of dogs here. If you don't like dogs, I can't imagine you would even make it through the lease process without seeing six or seven, and there's about fifty more. If you love dogs, awesome, cause they all want to be pet and loved. Last, the apartments are super small. After about 8 months in mine, I was ready to start clawing up the walls. Sure, there's IKEA and vertical style setups, but nothing beats having a door on your bathroom. I think it's actually similar to living in a camper (or a prison cell, if you like). It does wear on you. There's all the community space, courtyard and everything, and it helps keep your mind off it to finish out the lease. Last thing to mention, Rey in the front office is great and loves dogs, and Tony keeps this place running smoothly, and I appreciated having them there during my stay. I found management overall nice and maintenance always made it same day. And you can pay your rent on the website and receive an email as confirmation that you paid, which keeps those records nice and organized. Lots of people do have complaints about this place, and I guess that they're right, but if you're laid back and used to cities then I think you would have a similar good experience here. Edit: As of writing this, the fire alarm issues have been fixed. They go off once a month or so now because people get smoke in their rooms and fan it out into the hallway instead of out the window, setting off the building alarm in the hallways. And they've stopped turning the water off for maintenance about two months ago too, except one incident that went from about 9am to 2pm. But now it seems like everyone has working hot water, so they've been fixing all the kinks in the system. read more

I just recently moved into this apartment building and it's wonderful! The only downfall is the apartment management. My partner and I live in a studio together. Even though she is not on the lease, which they are aware of, they constantly treat her badly and with attitude when she approaches them nicely and only has questions about parts of our apartment that don't work. All they say is "you don't live here so I can't help you". If you do decide to live here, which I suggest , try to only deal with Edgar! He is amazing and is extremely helpful. read more

I moved in here on a whim after looking at the price and seeing literally every amenity is included in that price. The rooms arent too spacious, but its exactly how much room you need to be perfectly comfortable in you're space. The management team is also absolutely amazing; very professional and curteous! I would and do highly recommend the 211 if youre looking for great location, fantastic facilities, affordable commodations, and the best staff! read more

Place is a good value if you want to live right downtown within walking distance to bars and restaurants. I pay $600/month including all my utilities which is tough to beat. The units are small but I basically only sleep and shower in it and the communal areas to hang out are really nice. Hot tub has taken forever to open but seems like it will open any day. read more

Updated review, still love the idea of the community, there is no more free parking, so u either have to pay monthly, or find parking elsewhere, they shut the water off almost weekly, and fire alarms go off constantly! This apartment complex is centrally located and convenient to the freeway, downtown casinos and Las Vegas Blvd. My experience has been very good, from working with the leasing agent Rey, to move in, to facility maintenance. Rey has been patient and helpful in assisting my family members coordinate their long-distance move efficiently. Yes, it is a downtown urban area, so common sense is good, regardless of where you live. The common areas (barbecue, community kitchen, weight room, lobby) are clean, modern and hip. I would recommend this place to friends looking for a place in Vegas. read more

I have lived here for about 4 mounts now and i have not had any problems. All the people i have meet have been very nice including management. Keep in mind the size of the apartment is not for everyone but with all the thing to do downtown, or in the courtyard, or being at work, the only time i am in my apartment is getting ready for work or sleeping. Yes there are homeless people around but for the most part they keep to themselves. Over all this is a chill place to live for people of all ages. Moved in here the first week of December and been loving it since! The location downtown is great, there is a strong community vibe within the residents and it's secured which is good because of the location as well. The front desk associates are always helpful, especial Nick Peck, he goes above and beyond not only doing the mandatory things, but also with concerns that the residents have that most apartment complexes would ignore but make the biggest difference, and to me that's huge! If you're looking for a small place with great location, this is the only place you want to go! They are also very pet friendly! read more

This was a great place to live for the summer! I really grew to appreciate the simple floor plan, especially considering all the other amenities that come with it. The courtyard and balconies were great for hanging out with friends. The fitness center was a nice convenience also and the free laundry was awesome! Overall, the people who live there are extremely nice and welcoming. The location is perfect for getting around downtown too, with just a short walk to Container Park and Fremont St. And it's dog-friendly so I got to see so many furry little friends every day! read more

this is beyond a crooked apartment, cops are always here for unruly residents. My experience here has been horrible my air condition is leaky which caused my to slip and go through one sheet of the windows glass. They said they would fix it right away which hasn't happened instead i was served with a letter choosing not to let me renew my lease. I have had homeless people outside of my window. The front staff gives me a card for a security service asked the recent homeless to move which he didn't and the security just drove off and the homeless person stayed put. I finally had a enough and had to call the police and tell them that I thought I saw a weapon on him. Keep in mind this isn't the first time someone was outside my window it has happened around 8 times. Two of the people were trying to peak in which my guess was they were trying to see if they could break in and steal my personal goods. Also, I had my cousins girlfriend come here frequently to visit and she was getting harassed to do a backround check even though she wasn't sleeping here or living there. Which tells me that management doesn't want you have family or friends visit. Not to mention just walking the hallways and the smell of marijuana constantly as you walk through the hallways and the smell comes into my apartment which bothers my nose.
