I've been a regular in the store for more than three years. Since I've never had a problem in this Asian supermarket, they get five stars from me. If you're traveling by public transport the location of this store is no further than the other Vietnamese-owned grocery store in the Quaree neighborhood: Asia Mekhong. I reviewed Asia Mekhong and gave them 1 star for their bad service in 2008. Things I love about this place: 1) Small but consistent selection of Japanese products like: miso soup paste, sushi vinegar, nori seaweed paper, green tea, wasabi, Japanese snacks, etc. 2) Sugar snap peas, which seem to only be available in Hamburg for only a couple of weeks, are available year round. Price when I visited today was EUR1.99 for 200 grams. 3) Cilantro with roots. 4) Jumbo-sized shrimp in the freezer. 5) Fresh tofu! Somewhere in Hamburg, there's a factory making fresh, soft silken tofu. I've never found another Asian market besides this one who has this to offer. Ask the employee responsible for the produce section and they will cover their hand in a clear plastic bag, open a 10 gallon bucket of fresh tofu in water and voila! So gorgeous, I could spoon it. I can't understand why others give this place only three stars. The selection is Vietnamese-centric, but includes ingredients from India to China and Asian countries in between. Oh, and I always find a place to park. read more
