Seafood soup
Rachel W.

Went for lunch with a new Yelpie friend. We had both been here before and enjoyed it. I love going during lunch as the small place doesn't fill up. Maybe a dozen tables are perfect here. I always think I know what I want to eat here, and by the time my mouth opens to order, something else comes out. I ordered hot tea, the seafood soup and the fried tofu. The soup was perfect for the first really cold day of the winter. It had a perfectly seasoned broth with vermicelli noodles, a giant shrimp, and some other seafood. So good! The fried tofu portion was huge and came with (I think) a thick peanut sauce. Whenever I wanted more hot water for my tea, the server quickly brought it to me. After we wrapped up our leftovers, we stayed in the restaurant with just the staff and talked for so long. The staff did not try to kick us out. This is my type of place. It should be yours too.

Grilled steak dinner

For years I have enjoyed just about everything here. But I ordered myself a grilled steak tonight for $27. it was not what most folks around here would considered a grilled steak. it was thin, overcooked and tough. And it had a lot of gristle. Also, they cut lines into the steak (maybe to look like grill marks?). Idk, but the cuts let out whatever juice was left in the piece of meat. There were two pieces delivered, but my pic only shows one. Both were the same quality though. I didn't expect it to be Peter Lugers, but it was just not good tasting or chewable. My advice: Just don't do it. You won't be happy. Try something else. Anything else.

Thai Station has become our go-to for Thai. Vegan friendly and they absolutely adjust level of heat to even none. Lunch special pricing makes it in our budget. Tina is usually working and welcomes you with a smile.

Not sure what others are talking about. I guess opinions do vary. I had the Green Curry with chicken. It was delicious. Just the right amount of burn from the spices.

One of the best. 25. Shrimp Pad Thai, 27. Beef Pad See Yu

Solid food. Friendly staff. Everything served group style. A little cramped, but elegant and clean. Haven't had a dish I didnt like yet.

Sorry - I just picked up my order (drunken noodles and pad thai). No flavor. No spice. Taste like regular Chinese food.

Popping into here passing through Merrick and what a hidden gem!!! Really cute Vietnamese…read morerestaurant, staff was really nice and helpful, simple seating, simple menu. We got the Kenko rolls, both were great! The peanut sauce it came with went great with the chili sauce on the table. The rock shrimp were like popcorn chicken in the best way, light, crispy breading, not oily at all. The filet pho was lovely, it's huge, tons of noodles, very light broth, ofc comes with the bean sprouts, Thai basil, lime - would recommend a pho and the fish bahn mi was also really good, the fish was really crispy but the star was the pickled carrot and radish side- so light and refreshing, went so well with everything!

Decided to give this place another chance. I got their traditional bahn mi again. AGAIN, THERE WAS…read moreNO VISIBLE SIGN OF PATE INSIDE THE BAHN MI. Major disappointment. Traditional bahn mi has pate. Their menu even lists it. They couldn't have run out. I've been there a number of times and they never once put pate in there. Last time I've asked for extra pate and the guy asked what pate was. Such a rip off. Then I thought, let me try their pho. Their broth was fine as a Chinese noodle soup, mediocre at best, but it was definitely not pho. The noodle they've used was also not what authentic Viet restaurants use for their pho. Too many failures. Too many tries. Never going back.
