Expensive and small amount. I ordered appetizer that cost $ 24 but they served calamari that's mostly flour and very small amount. 3 small Todmun cakes And small chicken wings. I would stay away from appetizers. Pad Thai was ok adequate amount. The chicken is dry though not to my liking. At the end they will automatically charge you 18% gratuity with your bill. When I complained the waitress said they only do that in the weekend. So don't go on weekend. In all fairness the food is slightly above average. This place is Not sanitary.... I ordered Penang curry with chicken, and when I got home I realized it was tofu. In order to get my correct order, they wanted me to give them back the wrong order with the tofu....which was fine since I didn't eat it, but that is unsanitary and disgusting to take back food that's already been in my home.... You don't know the conditions of peoples homes or cars but you want to take back food that you messed up..... I hope they don't reserve that to other people.... As I had already taken it home, opened it, and had to drive 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back. I hope they threw it away and didn't reserve it because that is disgusting..... I will never order from here again because I don't trust them anymore..... I've been here a few times and it gets a 3.5 (between "A-OK" and "yay!") for both lunch and dinner. I have only had the pad thai and spring rolls, so perhaps other items are different. Their pad thai is a bit more plain in taste - the noodles are more dry and there's not as much peanut sauce that I would like. It's honestly a bit disappointing. The dinner order is EXPENSIVE - more than I realized. I got it to-go and the styrofoam container was FILLED to capacity, and I had enough for 3 meals...so that is something. But since it is not the greatest pad thai, it's not something you necessarily want for three meals in a row, lol. I wish they had a smaller size and a much lower price. Spring rolls are typical spring rolls. Good, but nothing I will swoon over. The location is conveniently across from the mall. Took some friends here for their first time. Exceptional food. I always get the number 67 (chicken friend fried rice) and it has never failed. There were five of us. They don't take reservations but we called ahead and they had a table waiting there for us. Everyone loved their food and all said they'd go back! The only negative is the mixed drink situation. Recently a group of us went to Thai spice for a friend's birthday. Service was a little slow, but the food was fantastic. All five of us enjoyed our meal. I got the shrimp Rangoon and shrimp fried rice. I will say I prefer crab Rangoon. Maybe because the cream cheese was overpowering in these (they were still good). I joined my sister today for my first visit. We stopped for lunch and we were warmly greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant was busy yet the service was prompt. It's a small space and they seem to only be using one side of the dining area during lunch. It also has a bar area which provides seating for approximately eight people. The lunch specials include several entrees which include lemongrass soup and a spring roll and the price is reasonable considering the portion size. The lemongrass soup was flavorful with a light spicy heat however the spring roll was bland and a bit stale. For entrees, I ordered the Padd Ped hot with shrimp and my sister had the pineapple fried rice no spice with shrimp. My Padd Ped had the right level of spice providing a warm heat that allowed my taste buds to still discern the various flavors of the dish. My disappointment was the minimal amount of shrimp, three to be exact, in my portion. My sister thoroughly enjoyed her pineapple shrimp as the seasoning was flavorful with no heat and the pineapple provided a nice balanced sweetness to the dish. I will definitely return to try the Padd Thai, maybe for dinner, to experience the dinner atmosphere. read more

It had onions, mushrooms, tomatoes in it, the Spring Roll was hot inside and still steaming, crunchy wrapping gave way to soft vegetables. Three bites max lol. I got the Number 12 lunch special which is Padd Pak Rum Mitt with Tofu. Lots of vegetables: carrots, broccoli, onions, red peppers, mushrooms, baby corn served in a brown soy based sauce. When I moved to Indiana in 2009 I left my favorite Thai restaurant behind. We used to go to the old location and I remember the excitement when they moved into their new building just down the street from the old one. It has been in the top three picks for every special occasion and where I used to take any dates. Now I get to take my own children here and to this day I highly recommend visiting here. Their fried rice is like no other and I have not found rice at any other establishment that tastes remotely as good. I recommend trying the Chicken Satay, Tofu, or just so mild/medium fried rice if you have a more bland palate. I love their pad thai here but I have absolutely had it with the customer service!! Every time I try to call an order in, it's an actual nightmare! The phone will either just ring and ring with no answer or be busy and the last 2 times I have gotten through they have gotten my order wrong both times. The second time I even said it really slow and it was still wrong. Last night was it for me though!! I called and was asked to wait and was on hold for over 10 minutes before I hung up and then after calling back and someone answering they told me it would take 40 minutes???? Obviously i wasn't hanging around for that long because I was on my way home from work. I've never had a Togo order take that long anywhere for 1 entree!! I have been a long-time customer of Thai Spice (since they opened), but today will be my last visit. They had a sign on the door announcing they were changing their prices but the menu does not reflect those changes yet. I though, "How bad could it be? Maybe $1 more per dish?" We ordered the usual two dishes, spring rolls, and small soup. The total was $65 with the tip! The dishes were $16 and $17. They were $13 the last time we ate there not too long ago. The soup is now almost $6. And $16 for fried rice?! I'm sorry, but that's insane. There's no way this restaurant is worth $65 for two people. I know restaurants are feeling the pain from COVID-19, but I highly doubt they were doing bad enough to raise their prices 25%. My husband and I visited Thai Spice a few Saturdays ago. Since it is still a pandemic, seating was limited, staff was small, and wait time was long. Once seated, we had plenty of time to look at menu and we ordered drinks and appetizers right away. We ordered dumplings as an appetizer. We ordered a thin bean noodle pad Thai and a stir fry beef meal. The food was hot and the staff were friendly. I do think the service was very slow and the building was overcrowded due to a lot of patrons waiting on takeout orders which they were heavily behind on. I'd like to come back to visit after the pandemic or try to order takeout during a weekday instead of weekend. read more

Atmosphere: Didn't seem very welcoming at first as the host stated they weren't doing dine in seating until 4:00, but there were plates from what I assumed to be other guests resting on the table with the yah signed. After about 5 minutes of going back and forth with my friend on whether or not we should stay or go, the ultimate choice was to say. The host went ahead to seat us at 3:35 and we talked amongst ourselves to pass the time. Service: 3:51 came and our order was taken. The food came out fast. Which was great. I had the catfish curry like I've had before, and the shrimp pad Thai. My friend the chicken pad Thai with spring rolls. Everything tasted well overall. The curry was an older batch as some of the vegetables were as if they were stuck to the bottom of the pot. Again, the curry is still pretty good! Back to the atmosphere, it wasn't the tidiest, I'm not sure why, but I'm thinking maybe a party had just finished up at the table next to us and that's why things looked like they needed to be cleaned. We stopped in on a whim while on the south side, and were rewarded for trusting all the Yelp reviews. The interior is very nice and comfortable. It was pretty busy, and steady, when we were there on a Wednesday night at 6:45. The Padd Thai was very good. I had the pork and ordered it "medium" heat. Thank goodness. My lips were definitely tingling but not uncomfortable. They also had hot, extra hot and Thai hot. The Egg Roll was good (4 not small rolls in an order), and so was the sweet sauce that came with it. I have enjoyed Thai food around the country, and Thai Spice is without doubt some of the most consistent and best Thai food coming out of a small, less upscale establishment. This was the first place I ever had Thai food, and while I wouldn't say it was The! Most! Authentic!, it was consistently solid. I especially loved their tom yum with tofu, as well as the gorgeous flower lamps and the glass sinks in the bathrooms. However, I recently returned for lunch, and the beautiful decor was the only good thing that remained. We were served tiny portions of tom yum that were almost inedible, with none of the heat or acid that I remembered. The slices of lemongrass that used to float in the broth were noticeably absent. I got almost no rice with my curry, which was mostly thin liquid but otherwise fine. Flagging down a server for more rice was way more difficult than it should have been. Worst of all, the woman who served us seemed furious to be doing so. She asked for our order while walking past our table and without making eye contact, so it was hard to know she was even speaking to us. When she did turn toward us, she cut us off in the middle of ordering, as in: Me: I'll have red curry-- Her: Red curry, chicken, medium. [to my husband] You? She wasn't finishing our standard orders; I haven't visited this location in five years, and I'm pretty sure I've never ordered anything but tofu here.
