As well as this, they are polite and professional and always treat you with respect. This is one of the reasons that I make the effort to visit. Everything else that I have tried is wonderful and I have never had to wait too long for my food, or to even place an order. However, it is usually fairly busy. The prices here are reasonable and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who lives in the area.

However, I would extremely suggest that they provide a delivery service rather than just a collection or sit-in order as it's a bit of drag having to get out of the house to taste their authentic food. Nevertheless, Man Gar is still a great place for a beautiful Chinese meal with both friends and family. I would definitely suggest popping in and looking at their menu and sampling their food, even if it's their chips, as they are so fluffy and thick and is a perfect late summer's night snack. We chose from the lunch menu which has a selection of starters, and various Thai curries, or Pad Thai with a choice of chicken or seafood, and the prices are reasonable. I chose the tempura vegetables to start, and a chicken Pad Thai for the main. While the starter was tasty, it wasn't what I would expect from tempura, and the batter was a bit like chicken nugget batter, rather than the light crisp batter you'd get in most Oriental restaurants. The main however was delicious, and quite spicy too. Value for money isn't amazing (on the lunch menu at least) and works out about £5 more for two people compared to the Jade Wok Chinese restaurant next door, but it does make a pleasant change if you're looking for something a little different.

I did what a normal social media addict would do and quizzed the guy on menu recommendations. Me and my boyfriend ordered a papaya Salad And a BBQ pork and noodle dish to share. This was more than enough for two people. The restaurant was fairly quiet for a Wednesday evening but the restaurant had a few Vietnamese families dining - always a good sign. The couple next to us had a whole fish and lobster between them, another sign that the seafood here is pretty fresh and cooked well. Don't let the quietness and slightly 90s decor put you off - it adds to the charm, the staff are super friendly and are there to give you advice on how to eat the food. They also sell Pho, so any fans of the Grand Central branch should check out Song Tuoi, prices here are around 8.50 a bowl and you're supporting a local independent! Overall this was a great introduction to Vietnamese food and I'm looking forward to visiting again to try some of the other dishes.

We both had beef pho which is the soup noodles. It's quite an airy building.. Though it didn't look as big inside. Didn't go upstairs. I talked bout the food with my friend when we left, I didn't think it had much taste, I licked a chilli to give it more taste!!! The broth was quite weak in flavour. Next up was Thai Prawn curry with Jasmine rice and I hardly muttered a word to my partner other than mouthing ummmm's and 'tasty'! The garlic mushrooms were fine and very tasty, however my friend's samosas were rather overdone and so crisp as to be considerably resistant to the sharp knife supplied but on making a compalint a replacement dish was quickly served along with profuse apologies and the dish proved very enjoyable. The main courses as recommended were a Dhansak and a Jalfrezi served with mushroom rice and Naan bread. The mains were served from hot metal bowls and were absolutely delicious. I had some misgivings about a jalfrezi being too spicey for my taste but it was beautifully flavoured to just the right level and the dhansak was just as delicious as were the mushroom rice and naan bread which we shared. On settling our account we were offered a complimentary liquer and great interest was shown in our satisfaction on the evening's fayre. Saturday nights one expects a good restaurant to be busy and some waiting involved giving time to anticipate the pleasures of the dish ordered and in all we were more than pleased with the cuisine and service. Finally the price was perfectly acceptable given the surroundings, attention, service and concern in this establishment which offers a personal atmosphere with the tables set in different rooms not one noisy mass dining room. This trip took me to Pak Lok on Manor Lane and on first viewings, I decided to proceed inside and not judge a book by its cover.. The service was fairly mediocre, as was the food and the prices. When I visit a takeaway, something has to be special to retain my services and Pak Lok was nothign special and nor will I be returning any time soon, if ever.
