The food was tasty and the portion size was more than generous. The restaurant is kind of small, but the service was good.

The Thai Café never fails to disappoint. It is a five minute walk from the centre of town with ample parking outside should you chose to drive there. Open for lunch and dinner the Thai has a large range of delicious food, the spring rolls being a particular favourite of most patrons. They also do a take out service. Booking a table in advance is advised as they are usually very busy at the weekend sometime being fully booked for a few weeks especially at Christmas. You get great value for money here! The café is a little overcrowded so bumping into others when it's busy is common. Their menu hasn't really ever changed which is a shame as it could do with some new dishes but that being said you will always find something you would like to eat. read more

The Thai Cafe is really a restuarant, don't be put off by the name! Family run it serves a wide variety of thai dishes from soups and starters to currys, stir frys and salads. They do lunch sittings as well as evening meals and take-away. Booking is highly recommended, especially at the weekend as it's often fully booked The food is always delicious and very reasonably priced and service is always great, even during busy times. There's the option to book a seperate room for private parties and this is always popular. Only one toilet but it's always spotless and as the restaurant is failry small it's all it really needs. They're not licensed so it's byob, but they do charge 50p corkage per bottle of wine, so if you're clever, bring a screw top. Highly recommended read more

I wasn't overly impressed with the Thai Cafe, the food is OK but nothing special. It is good value though, and if you're looking for something different it is worth a try. Do book though, it does get very busy and I'd doubt you'd get a table otherwise. It's not licensed so bring your own if you want alcohol. read more

The Thai Café is a really nice family run restaurant. Inside there is a warm family atmosphere and the décor is traditional with Thailand and some really nice monuments. There are pictures on the wall of Thailand and events and one of the Queen from her trip to the isle. The restaurant is separated into two rooms, the main dining room and the VIP room, which is good if you have a party but you need to book it. In general it is advised to book because the place does get pretty busy. They also do take-aways.The staff are really friendly and they are always willing to have a chat with you and they know the dishes, so if you have any questions they'll happily answer it. The menus are set out really well, each dish has a Thai name but if you have trouble pronouncing it you can always just say the number. The food is delicious and the Number 41 (Pad Siew) is advised. There are a wide variety of dishes for everyone to like and at reasonable prices. The deserts are really good too, ranging from plain ice cream to banana splits and deep-fried ice cream.A trip to Stornoway is not a trip until you have been to The Thai Café. read more
