My husband and I always try to see movies in other countries when we travel - and when we were in…read moreParis, we absolutely had to go to the Pathé theater! It was once owned by Luc Besson, but he sold his stake in the theater to another group. That's fine, as long as they keep the theater running and awesome. When we were in Paris, the repertoire movie they were showing was by chance, one of my husband's favorites - Fight Club! The theater itself is almost like an art museum, with a cool little tree shaped bench that is attached to the celling in a mushroom style, right in the middle. The screens in the theaters are top notch, with clear imagery, amazing sound, and comfortable seating. They even have fancy snacks, like ice cream, high end chocolates, and even Starbucks coffee! If you're a movie lover and you're visiting Paris, you'll have a plethora of theaters to visit. But definitely make Pathé one of your options!

Great movie theater in Paris! It's around a lot of shops and restaurants in a lovely area. They have plenty of snack options, which I've wanted to buy, but are overpriced compared to the US. $8 for a bag of M&Ms is wild to me. When I go it's just to watch a movie and leave. I haven't checked out any other theaters in Paris yet.

Vinimos para la orquesta filarmónica de San Petersburgo, increíble. Todo estaba organizado y de acuerdo al plano. El sistema de sonido fue fantástico y se escuchaba en todo rincón del teatro.

We got inexpensive seats, which wound up being in a gorgeous loge on one side of the venue. They offered a stellar vantage point of all but a sliver of one side of the stage, but I could tell the people in the two neighboring loges that were closer to the stage were missing a LOT of the show. It's a little confusing to find your seats and the ushers who unlock the loge for you work exclusively for tips, which they tell you as they're seating you. Unfortunately, I was in the lavatory when my husband was seated and had all our cash on me and he felt really bad about not having any Euros to give to her. Our local theatres also use volunteers for ushers but tipping them is not at all customary (I'm pretty sure it's never done), so this was a learning experience for us. Pricing for drinks and treats in the lobby is very fair -- I think it was 5 euros for a glass of wine. It would be nice if they had more tables out there for guests enjoying libations at intermission.
