It was cooked perfectly, with a touch of pink on the inner cuts. Best piece of meat I've had since I came to Mexico 5 months ago! -The steaks are big, meant to be shared. Great place to come with some hungry meat-loving guys and gals : ) -I also ordered a side of fries--they were delicious, but my wife ate most of them : ) She ordered the lentil soup and LOVED it. But the vibe here is different, its more a classic upscale steakhouse that will seat you if you arrive in sandals and shorts, The food is generally fantasitic, with surprise hits like the lentil soup and roasted beets being simply spectacular. It can run a bit pricey for Merida but it is also one of the better meals you will find with a truly attentive and courteous staff.

I asked for a cut of steak to have marveling and I think they took this to mean the one with the most gristle. While going to the restroom I saw that they cook over a grill which looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the Mayan temples were built. He coals were hit but there was no way to control the temperature. There were not temperature zones and all the meats and veggies mixed together. I asked to have my steak reheated. Not a complaint mind you I just eat slow and sometimes I need it thrown on the grill to reheat. They brought it back on a bread plate?! I have been to Mortons, Lowry's, Flemmings, Ruth Chris, and House of Prime Rib In San Francisco this is the McDonald's of steakhouses. If your looking for "Prime" steak look elsewhere. 3 stars for service and dessert.
