He spun something for everyone: oldheads, '80s & '90s hip-hop, country (including Randy Travis and King George!), and recent tunes. Everyone had a blast! Even I got out on the floor, and I NEVER do that!! Two things we really loved: 1.) he got out on the dance floor with everyone, and talked to people, interacting, taking suggestions, and encouraging people to get out and move. That was awesome! 2.) when he did the obligatory "longest marriage" dance, he didn't make anyone leave the dance floor, he just went around and asked couples how long they had been married. It was fun to keep dancing with my wife, even though we haven't been married the longest. DJ Calvin is the best DJ we've experienced since my own wedding 25 years ago!!

The DJ played a wide variety of music from Tejano to line dancing to popular music. They also put on a light show during the dancing portion of the evening. I like to think that I am a pretty good line dancer. Tonight, I felt like I was totally disconnected from the music world. When the Wobble line dance played, I thought I know that one. Well as I contemplated getting out there to shake my groove thang, screech...pump the brakes. They were doing a totally different Wobble line dance moves. So, we sat that one out. Also, it was bit intimidating to approach a sea synchronized teenager dancers. The DJ was spinning non-stop tunes and the the teenagers and a few others were moving and grooving.
