But indoors the mini supermarket is a useful spot for picking up those last minute forgotten items. For some reason though you can buy firewood! The chaps outside aka the rude boys are to be avoided and sadly most of them rent their vehicles from the car rental place down the road, which is obvious when you see how badly they drive.

The overall forecourt is modern and stands out, which is typical of Texaco, I also like how they have InPost lockers here, where you can pull up and park right outside, which is becoming a more popular method from many companies who offer returns, as InPost lockers offer quick and easy contactless returns. The petrol is a little bit more expensive compared to Tesco and Asda locations, both of which are a short drive around the road, and the shop area could do with a refurb even if it is just basic twitches, as that doesn't seem to have been improved in years. 3* - OK, useful stop along Rochdale Road but really could do with a refurbishment and slightly lower petrol pricing.

Shell on Regent Road, Salford - a pretty strange location given that there are multiple other…read morepetrol stations nearby, including the cheaper Sainsbury's across the way. Facilities in the station are good, as well as offering petrol, they have a 24/7 store (although at night you'll be served at the window) as well as offering Waitrose Products, Costa Coffee machine and an Amazon Locker. The prices are pretty high, especially for food, they do have Waitrose branded products despite not being an official store, but prices of these are in excess of 20% more, and sometimes up to 50% more so the pricing is ridiculous, again there's no need to pay those prices unless you're in a rush or calling at an awkward time, with a huge Sainsbury's store just across the road. The staff didn't seem too friendly, he just stared at me and ignored me while I had problems using the coffee machine with no acknowledgement. 3* - Pretty modern, clean fuel station but with rude staff and expensive food and petrol prices, even for a petrol/gas station, there is much better but Shell on Regents Road is OK, especially for the usual Amazon Lockers and coffee machine (when it works)

This service station is a regular stop for me on my way down to my volunteering job down in south…read moreManchester. It drives me insane, because both its entrances are actually both entrances and exits. This creates absolute chaos. Meaning that you're trying to turn across a busy dual carriageway to get in whilst people are trying to turn out on to the busy dual carriageway. Oh, and the people on the dual carriageway are being busy and on the dual carriageway too. It's well stressful. Oh, and this means that you get that really annoying situation of people approaching the pumps from both directions, meaning that doing a good old British queue in an orderly fashion is a difficult and frustrating process. And just to complete my moan, the garage doubles up as a mini supermarket as well, meaning that people get petrol and then do their shopping, leaving us sat waiting behind them going out of our minds. Arrghh this place makes me annoyed!
