I came in here with my buddy Matt the other night, on our way to Madras. I really needed to use the…read morerestroom, and felt the need to stretch and simply be out of the car for a few minutes. We had half a tank of gas by this point, and I noticed this station was open all night. After going through Sisters, Redmond, and Terrebonne and finding nothing open, this was like a breath of fresh air! Lol. This store is attached to a Chevron gas station. The station was lit up like Christmas, but the store looked kind of dark. So we weren't really sure if they were open or not. But we decided to give it a try and see, after having watched employees go in. Figured we'd try going in, and they'd tell us if they weren't open. Found it was simply the large windows were tinted. They were completely open and happy to help us. The store was clean, very well stocked. I expected them to be out of almost everything because of the eclipse, but they had clearly planned well and had cases of everything stacked up in the hallway by the bathroom and were constantly filling the coolers as they became low. I was very impressed by the fact they had planned so well for this crazy event and the large amounts of people coming through. We walked in and were greeted by a woman named Mia, I believe. She was very sweet and helpful. I had noticed quite the large amount of portable toilets outside where we had parked, with signs noting they were for customers only. I really prefer a real bathroom with running water, if possible. So I asked if they had a real bathroom or if those were the only option. I figured they did, and the portable ones were simply for the massive increase in customers due to the eclipse. Which I was exactly right in that. She directed me to the real bathroom inside the store, and I was quite happy. It was clean, stocked, and I had no complaints. I came back out and grabbed a cold soda with Matt, and purchased these. Mia was chatting with us about the eclipse, and where we were from. Typical small town friendliness, that I've always experienced in this area. Next, we go out and grab gas. Figured since they had it, it was better to fill the car up early that morning, versus later on when everyone was trying to leave. Plus I didn't want to get stuck out in the middle of nowhere. Lol. Jason was working outside at the Chevron gas station, which is attached to the store. He was just as warm and welcoming as Mia was inside. We chatted about everyone flocking to town for the eclipse and hearing about stations running out of gas, and things like that. Would I return? Absolutely! It's a typical gas station and store, really. Nothing exciting to be noted about it. They don't carry anything weird or hard to find that you can't live without. It's simply excellent customer service, and that's what makes it memorable. Both employees we encountered were helpful and friendly, plus they are open 24 hours. In this area of Oregon, that's actually pretty rare. Review 101 of 2017.
