Coy at the Bastrop store was very helpful on Monday Nov. 29, 2021. He was very busy but helped each person in the order that they arrived. I am a new motorhome owner and wasn't sure what hose and connectors I needed. Coy was able to get me the correct items, was very nice, and reminded me to check everything when I got back to Lake Bastrop. He took time with me, explained what to look for when the hose was connected and said to come back if I had any trouble. I appreciated being treated respectfully, not always the case for a woman RVer. If you are in the Bastrop area and need propane, stop at Tex Propane in Bastrop. read more

If I could rank this less than 1 star I would.My parents have been coming here for years, over 17. My mother order propane, she was charged $75 extra which she didn't have but paid anyway. I called to ask what it was for they told me it was to do a safety check and it would be refunded if it wasn't at 0%. I told them that I had just called to get a price and informed them the percent my mom's propane was at and they never mentioned a fee.(which she was not at 0%)I asked that next time they maybe mention that. The lady on the phone said " Well, if you cant afford this, maybe you shouldn't have propane." I was so upset, what right does she have to tell ANYONE this? The only thing that made this a tiny ok, is that the owner called me but even then she didn't apologize for her employee. I mentioned that what she said was uncalled for and that there is people that have to choose to get propane or pay another bill. Having propane is a necessity NOT a luxury. That maybe they should be more considerate to peoples situations. She made an excuse that they hear stories all day long and they never know if its the truth. Still, NOT an excuse to say this to people. We have a businesses in town and there is no way that we would EVER tell a farmer " if you cant afford a tractor maybe you shouldn't farm". I also work with children and never would tell them "well if you cant afford supplies maybe you shouldn't send your child to school". We live in a community with different back ground, different incomes, and tons of great people all fighting battles. Why be one they have to fight? Owning a business is a blessing and having customers is even more of a blessing.Customers are the ones that allow us to do what we love. Our employees are a reflection of us. So, even if this doesn't impact you, Tex-Butane, I hope that it make you realize that not ALL our community are liars and hope that you take this and makes you think that you are an example on how your employees treat people. We were selling our house when we had an emergency, a gas leak, on a Saturday during the Christmas holidays, and our buyer's home inspector was coming the next Monday to inspect the house. I called Tex Propane's Bastrop office and, being a Saturday their calls were being diverted to their corporate office in Schulenburg. The lady I spoke with was very empathetic and immediately started the ball rolling. The Bastrop's office Service Technician, Randy Geltmeier soon called and I explained the situation. It's a very long story, but the leak was only one of three major problems we had with the house. Randy came immediately to the house, and found the underground leak. But, the trencher was being used elsewhere and wouldn't be available for two days. My wife cried. We were out of town the next day when we learned that Randy was at the house and was digging the trench, out from the house, by hand. He could have been in the office with his feet propped up watching bowl games, but we came first. He got the trencher the next day, and completed the repair. We learned that he was at the house, and went there to see what the situation was. Not only had he fixed the leak, but he had put gas in the tank and checked every gas plain water for leaks. We had gas! The lady who helped us at the corporate office was a hero. She cared. And so did Randy. He just blew us away. He was absolutely great, times 10.
