The store is in a great location in the centre of town, so really convenient for browsing or picking up a few things when you're out shopping. Debenhams also offers a great points-based reward card for cosmetics purchases, the Beauty Club Card, giving you a £5 discount for every £167 you spend - there are better reward programs out there but always helpful if you shop here often. The customer service, however, is my main complaint! Most of the time there will be absolutely no-one to be seen at a counter. When I've asked other staff members to help me, even when I know the exact item I want to purchase, they're quite unfriendly and seem like they'd rather be doing literally anything else than serving me and act like my business is a huge hassle and inconvenience to them. Many times I've just gone to buy the same thing in another department store up the road instead! Conversely, when there is someone at the counter, on several occasions I felt like I was being forced into a purchase, as if the staff were completely desperate to get rid of certain products, rather than considering my personal needs or being genuinely helpful. A miserable and stressful shopping experience! Additionally, I would NOT recommend the Benefit Brow Bar at this location! I'd heard so many good things about Benefit and wanted to get my overgrown brows shaped in time for my upcoming holiday, instructing the technician to leave them full with a natural shape, as I only wanted them tidied up. Rather than using the vacant treatment room, she waxed my brows in front of all the customers (and this was quite a busy day) and I noticed a few laughing and sniggering at my discomfort. It was much more painful than any brow waxing I'd ever experienced as she kept waxing the same areas over, and when I looked in the mirror.. nearly all of my brow hairs were gone! Instead of full, luscious brows I was left with two skinny tadpoles and an expression of permanent surprise. I started to cry a little after seeing them and she had the audacity to ask if I wanted to make another appointment! Needless to say I will NEVER go back and had to use so much makeup to make them resemble eyebrows for months afterwards. If you want value for money and a pleasant shopping experience, stay well away! Although Debenhams have a rewards system and sometimes have deals worth browsing in the sales after Christmas, I won't be coming back any time soon. There are other department stores in town selling the same products with far better customer service!

Excellent cometics, clothing and household goods as well as gifts. Anything from here is going to be of good quality, and there are classic ranges as well as high fashion. I really feel that Dingles, like Beales, give Bournemouth, in terms of shopping, a bit of class. Bournemouth is looking very tired lately, but stores like this give it some quality and a reminder of it's better days.

There are lifts available. the store stocks many branded products and you can usually get all the information you need from the helpful and friendly staff. the store is in Old Christchurch road and parking is a bit of a problem. The nearest is the multistorey which is a good 5 minutes walk away. The store is a great place to get those special, good quality Christmas gifts and has loads of perfume stands. In addition this store provides a short cut from one side of town to the other, so it would be rude not to have a rest in the lovely suites. They also sell carpet, and theres a selection of bedlinen. These shops do a roaring trade, especially on wrapping paper and decorations. I find it all a bit a kitsch myself, as I'm fairly minimal 'but tasteful' when it comes to Christmas. A fabulous department store…read more This is just about still family owned. and really has a traitional feel without being old fashioned. It is far bigger than the Poole branch by a long chalk. There are lots of concessions in all departments, so there is a lot of choice. And although expensive, their own brand is very high quality. I love going in here - it just oozes class and taste. I once had my handbag stolen, but it's not the fault of the store. There is a cemetery on a nearby corner and drunks hang out there, and will make a dash through neighbouring shops in opportunist fashion. One night, however, a tomb stone was used to break a window at Beales!!!

The sales assistants vary, i have had some really nice women give me advice and some very unhelpful advice too - depends which counter you go to. They also have a cafe and restaurant but they are soooo expensive - although nice food, i dont think its worth the money (go to debenhams!) There are a number of discount stores (99p, Wilkinson, Peacocks and Poundland) all close together. The only downside is the parking - it seems to go up everytime I go up so would recommend parking elsewhere in Boscombe and walking in.
