They did some…read morework for me a few years ago that was fine, so when I needed the setting on my engagement ring fixed, I came back. He charged well more than I've ever paid for that repair at other jewelers, took something like 6 weeks, and when I got it back he'd built the points so high that the ring was constantly snagging on things. Six months later, I took the ring in for a different repair elsewhere, and the jeweler pointedly asked if I needed the setting fixed, because the points were too high. Now, a few months later, one of the points has come off again and I'm back where I was a year ago, needing a new setting.

He used our gold (old french coins) and he helped us determine the purity in order to get it refined to 24k and then alloyed to white gold as we wanted. He uses a wax carving and casting technique and dental tools for engravings so it is definitely hand made and unique but also very cool. Price was reasonable and quality exceeded expectations. If you want something that is custom made and not machined to order overseas, but still have a similar price, you should definitely try working with Dustin.

I think the name of the woman I spoke with was Monica. As soon as she heard I had a ring from People's, all she would tell me is that I had to go there to have it repaired. I told her that I would rather pay more to have it fixed locally because People's sends it out East. I kept trying to mention my family ring (because I absolutely would NOT send that anywhere in case it got lost) but she refused to listen and just kept saying, "go back to People's!". I literally almost cried because I'm so attached to that ring and it breaking was already so stressful. Anyways, I went to Independent Goldsmith, paid twice what I would have at People's in order to keep it local, and received excellent service. I would not recommend LL Private Jewellers at all, absolute crap service.
