I've been wanting to try this place out for a while and I'm so happy with my experience:) The baristas were so nice and the coffee tasted amazing! It's also a very cute and quiet spot with plenty of parking and outdoor seating. I can't wait to try different items from them.

My new favorite coffee shop! Tucked away in the enchanting courtyard of a school building-turned office building. The coffee shop window is in the school's old boiler room. The matcha latte is so good, I got mine with grapefruit syrup which was surprisingly a great combo. Service is friendly and fast, we showed up around 9am on a holiday weekend and had our drinks in minutes. Highly recommend walking the property, seeing the garden and enjoying the courtyard. I didn't try to WiFi but I can see it being a nice coworking spot once the weather cools down.

I would definitely recommend coming here to try their TRRBL latte. It is such a delicious mix of banana and chocolate. The flavors go together so well. The place has tons of parking and a bunch of outdoor seating so perfect for enjoying a sunny day with your caffeine!

My friend and I love to try different matcha spots as a casual afternoon getaway during work and happened upon this cute little hideaway. Terrible Love is run by a lovely owner with creative drinks. I was originally pulled here to try the matcha and grapefruit syrup. Unfortunately for me, it was not for my palate. However it does indeed taste like grapefruit! Instead, I was allowed to swap out for a different syrup where I asked for a mix of banana and caramel - lovely mix! Additionally, they do not charge for milk upcharge. They also have unsweetened matcha if that's your vibe! While my first drink wasn't for me, I'm curious to try their coffees next time I come to Austin!

Quite a hidden coffee place. If you follow the signs you may find the group of people sitting down. Even up to here you will still keep looking to find the coffee shop. It's not in the school, people will look at you if you try to open a door. Their special menu select is very small. Like only one special. Other than that their chai was very well made with an amped up spice level. Nice place to grab a drink and take a walk. Plenty of parking in the area.

I tried this coffee stand while working on site in Austin and I really enjoyed my coffee. This shop only offers a walk up window for ordering and outdoor seating for guests. I got the TRRBL Latte and it was nice and not overly sweet. I would definitely return the next time I'm on site.

It is a cute little coffee window in the middle of a neighborhood. A little hard to find, but not impossible since they have signs around pointing to it. We got a chai latte and a matcha latte. Chai was close to traditional masala chai so it was a bit spicy. Matcha latte was with grapefruit sugar syrup so it was pretty sweet and fruity. It was not crazy busy and we got the drinks quick. There's plenty of parking, and lots of opportunities to walk around.

Best Chai in town- it's the spicier, punchier kind, less sweet. Great service, love walking here from my apt in Hyde park.

Terrible love is a cute coffee shop for a perfect weekend morning coffee. I ordered the TRRBL latte which is similar to a banana bread or banana pudding latte and it was delicious! The banana flavor was mild but just enough for a fun coffee treat. It had whipped cream and vanilla wafers on top and was a perfect Sunday morning treat. It's a walk up coffee shop with outdoor tables, so it's a great place to sit outside and enjoy the sun. The service is super friendly and I would definitely come back!

Terrible Love is one of those fun little hidden gem, a bit of a non-traditional coffee shop tucked away in what used to be the boiler room of the old Baker School in Hyde Park, now part of the Baker Center. Kind of tricky to find, but worth the hunt if you're in the area. I had the matcha latte and it was pretty darn good. Smooth, balanced, not overly sweet. I grabbed a breakfast taco too. It's more of a taco of convenience (wrapped in foil) than a fresh-off-the-griddle situation, but it hit the spot. Came with excellent salsa. Seating is all outdoors at picnic tables, so you've got to catch it on a nice day and be in the right mood for the very casual dining al fresco experience. The staff was super friendly and approachable, which can be hard to find at some Austin coffee spots these days. If you're into unique, off-the-beaten-path coffee hangs with good drinks and vibes, this is a fun one to check out.

Love this cute little neighborhood coffee shop! It's so cute tucked in between the houses! Long line but it goes fast! Got the matcha latte which was so smooth! Highly recommend! Also love that they don't up charge for alternative milks.

Loved the grapefruit latte from terrible love! I was certainly hesitant to try it out as I thought it would be very bitter, but I bit the bullet at got it. As a vanilla latte lover, I wasn't too sure about the grapefruit at first but as I continued drinking it, I enjoyed it more and more! Definitely was a bit of an acquired taste at first but I truly enjoyed it and returned for another not even a few days later! You order at the counter and there is plenty of outdoor seating options available

My new fav coffee find in Austin. Terrible Love is located in an old small building, repurposed into a tiny coffee shop. Theres only outdoor seating. They have special coffee items - aka lattes made with homemade syrup and tea drinks. I got the vanilla matcha - they use Kodemari matcha which is same as at Merit, I love it. My husband got the terrible love latte and it's ... Not too sweet lol. Very tasty with the banana syrup and vanilla wafer crumble. I have given up drinking sweetened coffees but this was very pleasant. They have nice tables outside with umbrellas, which will come in handy once the heat is here. Staff is friendly. Surrounding area is nice and peaceful with a lot of trees. I love this place!'

Unfortunately, the kitchen just wasn't on their game this day. We went for brunch and it is a lovely restaurant with some amazing looking pastries. My ratings of the food we got are below. Overall, everything was just okay and not something I would order again. Our order: Salami and cheese - 1/10, not even edible with how much olive oil they dumped on it. Hard cheese and meat. None of us touched it. Frites - 9/10, hard to go wrong here. Nice and crispy French cruller - 7/10, I think this is just personal presence here I wished it was warmed up. Flavor was good but it was a little dry. Burger - 5/10, the flavor is there and definitely has potential but it was so bloody and rare which is not what we asked for. My friend has a gluten allergy and she asked for the burger lettuce wrapped and it just came on top of a huge chunk of iceberg so wouldn't recommend that if you want it lettuce wrapped. Chicken sandwich - 8/10, this was good with a nice crispy chicken. It could have used something sweet to balance the spice though it was a little one dimensional.

Upon entry was greeted by Melissa and sat in her section. The decor is very diner type with low, cozy booths and few tables and chairs. Not too big of a space and not sure if there is more seating elsewhere. Anyhoo, coffee was good and I got the Royal toast and a single pancake with eggs, and sausage. Ample amount of food and def had take away box. Everything was tasty and the buttermilk pancake was amazing with just syrup. Melissa was kind enough to provide little cups to take syrup home along with the tael away container. They had a daily special and a board above the kitchen with other items. I drove by it for 20 years on the way to Avenue Barber Shop. I wanted shredded beef tacos but couldn't get them without cilantro so I chose shredded beef enchiladas (with an $8!) side of chips and salsa. My wife ordered scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. She requested soft eggs, as she always does because too many places overcook them. The chips and salsa arrived. I was immediately disappointed. The menu said "we make our own chips." They were thick and yellow and appeared to be run-of-the-mill, out-of-a-bag chips. I prefer the thin white ones. I took one bite of salsa, and that was one bite too many. Cumin. I pushed it all aside. Cumin doesn't belong in salsa. (Sorry. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.) My enchiladas came with black beans, and there was cumin in them. Cumin is overused and abused in most restaurants. I couldn't eat them. The rice was good but the chipotle sauce on the enchiladas was not. I scraped most of the sauce off and ate one enchilada, mainly because I just needed something in my stomach. We were still 45 miles from home. I pushed my plate away. I also ordered coffee. One sip of that was all I could stand. Too weak for me. It gets worse, much worse. My wife's eggs were barely cooked. She asked the waiter for some cooked eggs. He took her plate and returned about four minutes later. The eggs were still not cooked. She tried another bite but couldn't eat them. Her bacon was tough as a boot and not chewable. The home fries were average, but by the time her plate arrived at our table for the second time, they were cold. I pulled my card out waiting for our excellent server to return. He asked how everything was (he had to notice two plates still covered with food) and we politely told him. I ate one enchilada and some rice. My wife had two bites of egg and two bites of potato. He apologized and handed me the check. $65. Nothing comped and nothing adjusted. A manager should've been summoned. How does a place like this have any customers? It was our first and last visit.

Friendly staff overall. The food fell flat for almost all of us. The salads were fresh and good. However, the ribs were below average. Cornbread was stale and not tasty. Not quite sure why the food was subpar, but there were 10 of us who all agreed we wouldn't return for food. There is a swanky little cozy speakeasy in the basement that may be good? It's a small space, with only around eight tables and a tiny kitchen behind the counter. It's a bit hard to locate from outside. There's no big sign on the window indicating the restaurant's name, just a plastic A-frame sign outside the building's doors. When I got there, four of the eight tables were empty but the dirty dishes had not yet been cleared. It took close to 10 minutes for the tables to be bused. Because the kitchen is so small, I'd recommend going up to the counter to order as soon as you get there. I believe you can also place your order online using the QR code on the table, but I didn't try that method. I ordered the lox n found, a toasted croissant roll with smoked salmon, avocado, dill ricotta, arugula, onion, and capers. The sandwich was delicious and filling, so I definitely didn't need them, but I do feel like I didn't get what I paid for.
