I rented the "Pont Neuf"" apartment from the rental agency 'Séjour à Toulouse' for 6 months and can…read moreenthusiastically recommend both the apartment and the agency which offers a large selection of furnished apartments in and near the historic centre of Toulouse. You can rent for a couple of nights or for up to 9 months, and at a negotiated reduced rate for a long-term rental. The attractively updated "Pont Neuf" apartment is up one flight of stairs in a traditional old building right at the west end of the Pont Neuf, a beautiful 500-year-old bridge over the Garonne River. The bed is comfortable, the water endlessly hot, and all the usual amenities are supplied including TV, dishwasher and clothes washer. Overlooking a little-used courtyard full of plants, the place is very quiet, especially at night, yet I was only steps from the bridge and all the treasures of Toulouse's lively historic centre just beyond. One of the great benefits of a long-term, but temporary, rental from 'Séjour à Toulouse' is that all utilities are part of the package I didn't have to sign up with the French electric utility or take out a contract for my wifi, heat and TV; it was all included, relieving me of the complicated, frustrating and expensive process of setting those accounts up myself. A word about the agency: The staff was professional, easy to deal with, welcoming, responsive, and multi-lingual (I was able to negotiate my stay in English). There was a minimum of bureaucratic fuss. If there was a minor problem, they addressed it promptly. I've dealt with numerous real estate rental agencies in Toulouse and never experienced such a friendly and genuinely supportive group. I also got my damage deposit back the same day I left, which is almost unheard of. (Usually one waits at least a month.) No up-front agency fees either. My husband, baby and I spent the summer of 2013 in Toulouse. We rented three different apartments…read morethrough Sejour a Toulouse, over the course of 70 days. We thus had ample opportunity to get to know the staff and their services; we could not have been more pleased! We coordinated our rental from the United States. A staff member walked us through each step needed to book our apartments and make the deposits online, even staying late at work to accommodate the time zone differences. Upon our arrival in Toulouse, we found each of the three apartments (all three from "The Elegant" listings) to be charming, bright, clean, and extremely well-located in the center of town. Unlike the experience of a previous reviewer, we found that each matched very well with both the description and photos found on the Sejour a Toulouse website. Each was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. How delightful it was, for our long stay, to have ample space to unpack and feel "at home", to cook our own meals, and to do our laundry right in the apartment! We were provided with clean, white linens and all three apartments had high speed WiFi connections that worked very well. Even with all these amenities, much more space, and the comfort of a home, two of the apartments cost less per night than the long-stay hotel we had considered! As for the staff at Sejour a Toulouse, they were professional, courteous, and kind. We moved apartments twice, which made for three move in appointments and three move-out appointments. In all cases, they met us at the time that worked best for us (even quite early in the a.m.), and handled the exchange of keys, information, and payment with warmth and efficiency. While checking us in, they shared their wealth of knowledge about Toulouse and the surrounding region. We were initially hesitant to book, as we couldn't find many online reviews of the company. But, because we speak French, we were able to call their French references and heard very positive feedback (No problem if you don't speak French, they can still work with you). We took a chance, and we're so glad we did! We had a terrific, memorable summer in Toulouse, in large part thanks to our great housing situation. We highly recommend this service! (A final quick note - we moved around because we made our arrangements at the last minute, and the apartments we most desired had bookings at different times during the summer. There were apartments available for our entire stay, but we were willing to move for the locations we wanted.)
