My wife and I were blown away by their extraordinary customer service from our very first email and call with them, all the way up through our wedding day. We worked first with Mar to choose our hotel and reserve our room block, and then with Ale for the remainder of the process, including guest coordination, hotel bookings, and travel arrangements. Both of them, along with every other employee we interacted with, were extremely pleasant, professional, and helpful. They always responded to our inquiries within 24 hours, and most times, within an hour. They always made us feel like we were in good hands. Our guests all had similar feedback, which is nice to know that not only did we receive great service, but so did our guests. On top of the excellent customer service, the wedding concessions they offer are a huge perk. Again, it almost felt too good to be true, but I can attest that they followed through on every single concession that they offered. To anyone considering a destination wedding, I would recommend Hola Weddings in a heartbeat. Trust the positive reviews you see online. We're glad we did! Thank you again for everything, Ale and Mar!

I actually first started working with someone from Destify, but the communication just wasn't there for me. I found this site from a simple Google search and as soon as I reached out, I heard back from someone and from there I was set. I first worked with Miriam, who helped me set up my site tours and help me figure out where I even wanted to go. She really help me focus in and figure out what I wanted to do. After I figured it out the resort I wanted to use she helped me with the communication with the resort, getting the contract signed, and even getting a room block set up, which I initially wasn't sure about, but I must say it was one of the best decisions we made during this planning process . So she was always there for some great advice. She then connected me to Leticia, who took the rest from there and help me with getting my website set up for my guests to book their rooms and get all the information about the wedding from. They put up the site so quickly and made it so easy and seamless for my guest to book or ask questions. Because everything was through email I always had tons of questions and they were always so quick to answer me and treat me like I was their only client because of how great their service was. Everyone at Hola Weddings , even if one of my planners was not in the office was always great about getting back to me and treating me with such kindness . When planning a wedding there's a lot of things that you may stress it out, but they make everything on their end so easy!! They sent out the travel information to us once everything was booked and getting close to the wedding and the service they used for our pick up and drop off was excellent at communication and getting us to and from the resort I couldn't have asked for better. Our guests constantly told us how easy it was to get questions answered throughout the whole process. All I can say is how genuinely grateful I am to them for all of their services and all of their help it made a world of difference in our process and our wedding !!

My husband and I just got back from Sandos Playacar after a 5-day stay. We were there to attend a…read morewedding on Saturday. Pros: -This was my first time staying at an all-inclusive resort and it was super nice. Most drinks and all food were included. We went to the buffet a few times which was also nice, and the bride and groom had told us to make reservations at the dinner restaurants beforehand, so we did that. -Buffet was actually really good, I'd say comparable to Vegas ones I've been to. -The Italian restaurant was very good, and the Brazilian churrascaria was okay. The steakhouse was unfortunately just so-so but the empanadas and sides were good. -Awesome beachfront view from room. The bride and groom were Royal Elite (they're members of Sandos, I believe) and they booked us all under their reservation, which meant we had access to special parts of the resort. I was also able to text a concierge via WhatsApp to get our dinner reservations. -Complimentary minibar with beers and sodas which was refreshed daily, also a bottle of mezcal and champagne -Water bubbler in the room for safe water to drink (don't drink the water if you're not used to it, in Mexico). We also used this for brushing our teeth. -Room service was also free, although we always tipped. We did continental breakfast twice, and the Royal Elite menu had some other tasty things like prosciutto, burgers, guac and tortilla chips, etc. on it. -We were able to schedule a bellhop the day before we left, for 8:10am the next day, and they showed up promptly. Cons: -Overall the food was just okay. The Italian place on our first night was the best of the three we tried. -Wifi was great everywhere in the resort EXCEPT our room. Which was a problem because my phone provider charges me $10 a day extra in Mexico, so I was hoping to just use WiFi. Also meant streaming TV shows on my iPad was rough/laggy. -This didn't happen to us but it rained heavily our first night there, and some people in our wedding group said their rooms flooded. It did rain Monday night too and walking around the resort was tough because some of the walkways were super watery. -Check-in took a while, maybe 30 minutes including waiting in line and actually checking in. As for the wedding itself, it was on the beach on Saturday and then the reception was outdoors in a semi-private area a few hours after that. Both were really nice and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to book a beach wedding, although we were lucky the weather was good that day (I believe they do have a rain plan though). Overall I would stay here again, I did read other Yelp reviews saying that if you aren't Royal Elite a lot of the amenities are not open to you, but because our friends are members we were included in their perks.

We as a family have stayed at several all-inclusive resorts, some in Cancun and Sandos did not…read moreparticularly meet our standards for the following reasons. - Upon checking in, my wristband already did not work in opening our door. - Elevator at building 8 on the family side was broken so my brother and SIL had to carry a stroller & pack and play up 3 flights of stairs. Front desk couldn't give an estimate time of when the elevators would be fixed. They had to ask to switch rooms which was a hassle in itself because it wouldn't be available till the next day so they essentially had to repack their things by noon the following day and had to wait till 3 pm to check in to the new room. - Rooms are pretty outdated and not the cleanest, the shower had a scratchy wood tiling which felt weird on the feet especially when wet, and there's like 3 available outlets throughout the entire room. - The quality of the food is pretty lacking. We were constantly disappointed by the desserts offered at the restaurants as several did not taste the way it should (ie flan and mousse were not of usual flan or mousse consistency). The pastries at the cupcake cafe were not fresh. We found that the best restaurant was Italian - we were pleasantly pleased by each item we ordered from the menu. Second best was the El Gaucho steakhouse (although here I got a side of mac & cheese which was absolutely nothing like mac & cheese...). The rest of the restaurants we were not particularly impressed with. - All of the restaurants require a reservation except for the buffet. Reservations can only be made through the app or if you walk up to the guest services counter at 4 pm each day to check if there were any cancellations for that day. This made it hard to snag solid dinner options because every time we checked the app, there were no reservations for the next 3 days which we found not to be very accurate because the restaurants were never full. - I didn't find the staff to be as friendly and accommodating as we have experienced at previous all-inclusives. Every encounter felt very short and impersonal. The service at restaurants weren't the best - we rarely ever had our water/coffees refilled without asking, we were sometimes given the smallest table possible for 6 adults and a baby, and we seemed ignored every time we asked for a high chair and we had to go fetch one ourselves each time. Also to note, we had one of our waitresses snatch my 9 month old nephew out of my dad's arms at dinner and hold him for about a minute without asking for permission before doing so. We did not appreciate that one bit. - The shows were okay. Some nights were better than others because there would be actual live singing. I did enjoy the costumes and the stage decor but overall the night entertainment was nothing very special. - Both my brother and SIL as well as my parents had someone pounding loudly on their doors at 10:30 pm saying room service even though none of them had ordered room service. Mind you, my brother and SIL had their sleeping baby at the time. On top of that, one employee even badged into and opened my brother's door before they could even get to the door to open it. On both occasions, whoever was standing at the door did not have anything with them to offer as "room service", did not apologize, and walked away without any further explanation. - While the app advertised daily activities on the beach, we didn't see a lot of the activities actually happen. They might not have enough participants to do the events but it didn't look like they tried to hard to recruit. - There was no beach or pool side service which was disappointing. It was probably because of all the wild animals (like the coatis, monkeys, and cats) around seeking food but that took away from the overall experience. - The quality of a lot of the alcoholic drinks were subpar and some of the standard drinks my brother requested the bartender didn't know how to make. - One of the primary walkways shared the same path as the shuttle cars and half the time you're walking, you're pressed to the side trying not to get hit by a passing shuttle car because the path is too small for both civilians and a car. Some pros: - Depending on who the barista was, the coffee some days was delicious (primarily the mocha frappucino). - The beach, while not fully enjoyable because of all the seaweed, had a really nice shaded breezy area where we spent every late afternoon laying out and taking a super relaxing nap on the chairs listening to the sounds of the palm trees swaying and the ocean. - Most of the walkways between the different buildings were nice and shaded with lots of greenery. - There were some employees I think that were paired with Expedia who were much more friendly and went more out of their way to help visitors better their overall experience. Based on our experience, we would choose elsewhere for our next destination.

Wedding Review:…read more After searching for months for the perfect all inclusive resort in Mexico to host our wedding, we decided on The Reef Playacar and it was the best decision we ever made. From the very beginning we were assigned a wedding coordinator to help us plan our special day. Vicky not only became our coordinator, but she also became a great friend. She was not only patient, but attentive and helped immensely with making every dream detail we had become a reality. She helped me get in touch with all the necessary local vendors such as florist, baker, DJ etc and made sure to outline what was included in our package so there were no hiccups or surprises. As part of our package, we got to experience the resort ahead of time as well so we could tour the property and taste food for our wedding menu. That was such a special experience and we were grateful to be able to experience the resort in advance so we could get a better idea of our planning needs and how the big day would go. As for the wedding itself, our day couldn't have been any more perfect. The ceremony was exactly how I envisioned it, a romantic tropical setup with beautiful florals. Then the reception was elegant with candles galore, a light up dance floor on the beach, and lots of string lights. It was too good to be true and I'm so happy with how it all turned out. The food, the music, and all the little decor extras I added were perfectly executed as well. I really appreciate the attention to detail! We had 75 guests total and every single one of them said this was the best destination wedding they'd ever been to. Regarding rates, the resort offers multiple wedding packages all with discounted room block rates for your wedding guests which not only made the wedding itself affordable for our budget, but the rooms affordable for our guests as well. Everyone got a vacation out of it and our guests couldn't have been happier. Destination weddings are the way to go! Thank you to The Reef Playacar for making our wedding the absolute best day of our lives and we cannot wait to come back to celebrate an anniversary in the future.

The resort is small but very beautiful. The grounds were well taken care of, I loved the jungle feel and immediate access to the beach cant be beat. I will say the food was okay, dinner options were great, the buffet and snack bar during breakfast and lunch were not the best but again what I expected for an all inclusive. I loved that there were fun little activities every day and the staff was all so kind. I honestly need to do a separate review for my friend's wedding because I was honestly blown away by the decor, the staff, the food, everything about the wedding was absolutely stunning and exceeded my expectations of what I thought a destination wedding would be like.

I was told I would be given a birthday reocognition, but recieved little more than daily room service but nothing else--- I ordered my own cupcakes for 65 usd. Transportation Was shared, Zero vip check in or beverage offer. The views are gorgeous and the food was generally good. However, Bartenders and waiters wait for you to head to 5th Ave for shopping, claim they know you, direct you into unsavory placesand shows of their family- to shop and sell good lies, that make it seem like you're getting a deal. Quote you less than they actually charge FOR FAKE JUNK "Just remember me Jonnie!" Mayan Jewelry II robbed us! The cab driver was more honest than these people. The food and drink options were minimal ( 1 bar inside 1 outside) and only 1 no reservation restaurant and only 1 restaurant option for breakfast. I got charged to see the in house doctor when I slipped and fell onto marble floors on my birthday. Which was a disaster in itself And if anyone can get a phone number for the mayan jewelry on the corner to the left of the ferry_ enterance, I want to ensure my bank gives them no money. For Palace, it is shameful to force tourists out of the resort (because nothing you need or want is available in house) to be taken advantage of . Had this been my first palace experience I'd have never invested in them. This is NOTHING like moon palace in cancun. It is Sun, beach, pretty views, pools and included all drinks (mostly) and all food (mostly). But spend your $ elsewhere.

This was a great selection, as my party ranged from 8- 72 years of age. The resort had evening entertainment, was close to downtown Playa del Carmen and next door to the ferry to Conzumel. The resort also allowed open space for you to walk away from the ferry to enjoy the calm, clean water. The resort is next door (walking distance from beach near ferry) to Senior Frogs and Hard Rock Cafe! My family enjoyed themselves. We even booked a complimentary photoshoot at the beach to capture the memorable experience . Few cons: No AC in certain areas of the resort, like the buffet area and the area near the indoor bar. Their kids club needs more fun stuff to lure kids to stay. And....watch for random charges. For example, during checkout, they automatically charge you a $10 "donation" fee. I eliminated it from my bill but missed it on my mom's. The pool closes early! I imagined myself hanging in a hot tub reading a book :( Super perk: you get access to Cozumel Palace. That resort is absolutely gorgeous. Pools and access to the Sea to snorkel is a must! Do it! Download the APP and you can request certain items: extra toothpaste, toothbrush, roll in bed, beer, champagne , toilet paper and room service! Customer service is great! Bring cash to tip. They notice and take care of you again when they see you. Interesting fact: My husband was not feeling well. I paid for a $100 doctor to check him out. She prescribed medication that alleviated his symptoms . They charge you at check out. Thank you Playacar of a memorable experience and ringing in my Bday!

I was not approached by anyone offering to sell me anything or attend presentations. Staff were super friendly and helpful during our stay. There's a main pool and a quiet pool. So you have an option where you want to be based on your interest. Night shows were great with some fantastic performers. I wish that there was more Mexican themed shows or music but I guess they try to accommodate that the majority of guests were from Canada and USA. Some of the restaurants rotate being open for dinner. Your best bet is to make reservations ahead of time. You can always show up but might have to wait depending on the time. Overall food was good. Drinks were ok but as a social drinker, I wasn't impressed with my 1-2 drinks/day during my stay. I think I had one drink that I found really good. Beach area is not private and you might have people approach you to sell you stuff or services. A polite "no, thank you" works great. Location and proximity to 5th Avenue made it a great place to explore the area. Although filled with tourists, you also get some local interactions. I would come back to this resort in the future.

Ownership has changed, and this property is now known as Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen…read more My boyfriend planned the trip, and my only request was an all-inclusive resort. While the property has a lot of potential, it ultimately missed the mark, especially for a resort of this size. The biggest issue was the constant selling. I understand upselling is part of the business, but having to say no repeatedly throughout the stay was exhausting. Even after interacting with the same staff members multiple times, nearly every conversation felt like a sales pitch. We also received early morning calls to the room for non-urgent matters and promotions, which was disruptive and frustrating. Despite being advertised as all-inclusive, there were frequent pushes to upgrade to higher-end alcohol, exclusive experiences, and add-ons. I would much rather pay more upfront for a truly inclusive experience than feel harassed during my vacation. It really affected the overall vibe of the trip. The food was average and not memorable. The highlight was the coffee shop, which was open most of the day and consistently good. Poolside dining is very limited. You cannot casually order snacks like chips and guacamole while at the pool and instead have to go to one of the restaurants. Also be cautious with food near the pool, as wildlife grabbed my pizza while I was sitting there. Overall, this resort could be great, but the aggressive upselling, average food, and limited poolside service made it disappointing for an all-inclusive experience.
